Hey Kat! Wonderful that you did stay on task at WDW. Just one dinner is still great, especially while there on vacation!

Well, I have been very busy lately. DS is graduating Friday and we have been flying by the seat of our pants with all of that. Yesterday was his last day of school. He was so rushed today, that I think I will try to sneak in some cookie making for him today. I was thinking on having him stay up til the wee hours of the morning with me to fold laundry like we used to do so that he can share in the fond memories! Sure, if I can pull him away from his friends! :goodvibes

I am off to get the hair repaired. Looks a bit like the wicked witch from the west! Tonight is baccelaurate. DS is playing piano for part of the music. Yeah!

I am off and running. And amonst all this, this week, I was in the ER for some muscle spasms. Gee, what fun! If I find I am lacking in sleep, the medication the dr gave me will work for anyone!

Off and racing, because running just isn't fast enough!

Hugs to all and great losses with weight!

Wendy

Oh Wendy... we got back from WDW on 5/17. I just meant that THIS week I was finally back on track. I certainly ate more than one bad meal while there!! (like, all of them!) I weighed this AM and only up 3 lbs from the pre-WDW weight, so I am okay with that. Maybe tomorrow will bring a bit more loss.

Sorry about the muscle spasms and bad hair... congrats on the graduation!

Wendy the trip to the beauty parlor will make you lookwonderful. I did this 4 years ago. Next year if things go well I willhave a college graduate and a high school graduate in 6 weeks time. When they are born you think that they will be with you for a very long time but it goes so fast. Take a deep breath and just breathe it all in. Don't forget that you are crying tears of joy.

Good Tuesday Morning.

Just a quick note before I need to kick things into high gear. I can not believe how crappy I have felt all week. I am not eating much but what I am eating is not staying with me too long. I am trying to get some good bacteria back into my body since I killed off a lot of them last week with the antibiotic for my ear. If this does not work today I will have to calll the doctor. I did nothing this weekend and I had a pile of things to do. Won't get much done today because I have to attend a grievence hearing after school about writing midterm and final exams for my two different calc classes and then family is taking me out for my birthday and then jazz band concert tonight for ds2.

Wendy I hope graduation went well this weekend. It is such an emotional time but at the same time proud that they made it this far and done so well.

Have a great day everyone else.

We need to get back to talking to everyone. I will try to post at least once a day, how about everyone else?

Hi Guys!

Sorry I've been MIA. I joined Sparkpeople, and it takes alot of my online time. The good news is, I just joined Friday afternoon, and I'm already feeling better and seeing results. I haven't been on it long enough to recommend it, but if you check it out and decide to join (it's free!) feel free to say you were referred by Worfiedoodles...

What I like best is that you track exactly what you are eating and your exercise, and it tells you how the carbs, protein and fat are distributed. I have been going way over on carbs and too low on protein. I also like that you get points for healthy behavior, and reading about health -- plus there's even a DIS Spark Team!

Ok, enough with my commercial. I have tried so many things, but this time I am doing rather than trying.

I haven't hit my eating targets yet, still learning how to adapt to fewer carbs, but I am cranking on the exercise! I ran outside for the first time Saturday, 2.6 miles. I walked to "The Queen" Sunday, 100 minutes, and I ran/walk 5.2 miles on Monday. I did 45 minutes on the bike this morning, and I plan to do a strength workout later today.

Dona -- I am so sorry you are not feeling well...that's just the pits. :bday: I hope you have a wonderful dinner!

Kat -- I hope you had a wonderful time. What was the meal that was most worth the calories? Did you do anything active while you were there? I consider walking around the park to be a good workout!

Wendy -- What a week you are having! Congratulations for the graduation, and I hope your hair repair was spectacular!

Everyone have a fantastic day!
Maria

Alfredo's was definitely our best meal. We had fettucini alfredo as an appetizer, and veal shank/saffron risotto for 2 for the entree. Both were incredible. WCC lunch, Kona Cafe, Boma, and Biergarten were also good. Marrakesh was awful... bland dry food and bad service.

I spent yesterday watching a Biggest Loser marathon and re-committing to this diet. My new goal is 145. That is about 53 lbs away, but I know I can do it. My DH is on the wagon now with me, and that will help immensely.

We went shopping Sunday and now have pantry, fridge, and freezer stocked with dietary foods.

I also did really well over the weekend and stayed at 1200 cals or less all three days, even with a baby shower on Saturday.

Come on everyone, I am the cheerleader today! :cheer2:

You did do very well for going to a shower. Those types of things are what makes you feel like a champ!
I haven't posted in awhile because all we have done was run, run ,run. I love my children being involved but it is hard to keep up and hard to watch what you are eating. I am stuck at a lose of 11 pounds and can't get moving. I am not sure what the problem is but I guess I will have to kick it into high gear.
I hope everyone has a healthy day!
Michele

Hello ladies, I'm back. Back from what? Being lazy of course! I'm trying to recommit to weight loss, but it's not going well. I think its stress that makes me eat. When I'm calm and collected, I don't have a problem sticking to a diet, but add a little stress and I'm gobbling everything in the fridge I can get my hands on...its pretty revolting :lmao:

I finally got grass put in my back yard, it was all sandy desert when we bought the place, but now its nice and green and pretty  The kids have been out there for a week straight not wanting to come in. I think it will prepare them for the long hot days in FL in August.

HockeyKat, sounds like you had a good time in WDW. I love eating my way around the World. Last time I went I ate soooo much good food.

Michele, I know how you feel  I just can't seem to get in gear either.

Maria, OMG way to go on the exercise!!! I wish my legs would let me run, but the Army broke me down. What is the Sparkpeople? I have never heard of it.

Dona, Happy belated Bday, I hope your celebration dinner went well. I hope you are feeling better too, its awful being sick!

Wendy, Well Congrats to your DS on the Graduation. Its such a happy time, it goes fast and then its over so take lots of pics! I only have small memories of the day that went way to fast!

I hope yall have a great day, see ya later!

Good Evening, Ladies!

It's been a crazy day -- thank goodness it was a rest day, or I would have missed my workout for sure. DH has been having trouble with his foot for the last few days, and today when he got up he couldn't even stand on it. We went to see his doctor after I got ds off to school (yep, took a sick day), and he got started on a non-steriod anti-inflammatory drug, which should work in a few days. He already feels much, much better. I had to drive through Downtown to the doctor's office, which is a huge stressor for me.

He also had to pick up a laptop and download info for a test he's taking June 16th today. He had two months to take care of this, but let's just say he's not as paranoid as I am. Now he's going to have to take the test on paper, but that's not the point. We spent all afternoon trying to take care of that, and then I had to pick ds up from school, and dh had to pick his dad and stm up from the airport.

It was just nuts. In the middle of all this, I did fine with my eating! I'm hitting all of my targets on Sparkpeople for calories, fat, carbs and protein, and I'm not hungry. I held it together through a very stressful day, so I'm proud of me!

I have to get everyone set for the evening, just wanted to make a quick post.

Michele, Michelle & Kat -- Great to hear from you again!

Have a great evening!
Maria

Great job Maria!! I know how hard it is to stick to eating right when the world is crumbling around you.

Wow on the exercise! I just am not a runner. I try and I can't ever get past the stitch in my side.

Right now my exercise plan is
-Mon/Fri is 25-35 min on the elliptical, followed by 30 reps each on chest, pulldown, row, leg-curl, leg-extension, leg-press, ab-press, ab-crunch, ab-oblique (on each side), tricep, bicep, and shoulder. My gym has a great "express" area so I can do all but the ab machines in sequence and it only takes 10-15 min.
-Tues/Thurs I am trying to fit in 35-45 on the elliptical
-Wed I play 1.5 hours of ice hockey scrimmage (a real game, but no score or ref).

I think starting next week I am going to replace Thurs elliptical cardio w/ more ice hockey... an hour class plus another hour of scrimmage. Eventually, once I am in better shape, I will add one more day of actual league play in place of the Tues elliptical.

I have had a great diet week so far... stuck to 1200 or less every day since I restarted last Wednesday. I am really hoping for a good Friday weighin. I did switch my Mon/Tues routine around for exercise since I only do the gym during my lunch hour at work (it is 5 min from work but 30 from home)... I just did a portable stepper for 35 min instead of the elliptical.

Disney Dreams!!

Good Thursday Morning

I think I am starting to feel better. THings seem to be calming down in my stomach although my ear feels funny again so I may have to have that checked out again. Three out of my 5 classes today will be almost all gone to Physics Day at Great Adventure. I can get siome papers that they handed in to me graded. IN two weeks we will be done. I can't wait. Summer is coming soon.

This afternoon I have to finish hemming a prom dress for a friend's daughter. I was able to take it in on the side and I machine hemmed the lining but I think I will hand sew the main dress. It will look so much neater.

Maria I hope dh's foot is getting better. I have had foot problems and it is not fun.

Kat I think the hockey workout sounds like fun. I am not that great of a skater so to me that is very impressive.

Michelle, SOunds like you have been busy in your back yard. I still have flowers to plant but will get them in on Sunday.

Michele Congrats on 11 pounds. Your body needs to get used to the loss. Just keep trying. I know how frustrating that is.

To everyone else. Have a great day. Keep up the hard work.

Hello Everyone!

Whew, what a week! And it all went just wonderful. DD also had her 5th grade promotion. We have a very small school, in fact K thru 12 is in the same building. So, they make a big to-do of going from 5th to 6th grade. Then the next big thing is graduation from HS. When I get re-organized :rotfl2: I will put up a few more photos. Some day I will be able to do it without looking like I really don't know what I am doing!

Looks like some great progress for us all. And with being busy as well!

Maria, I started Sparklepeople, but didn't really keep up with it. I think I did better when I was doing it. It helps when others are working with you to keep you accountable. I need to get back into the routine. Hmm...was I really ever on one? :rotfl: Great job! We are proud of you too!

Kat! There can never be a bad meal at WDW! Did dinning ressies for DS's trip and I was a bit jealous when I did the one for Canada. Yum. Beef! At least I can use the excuse that beef can be good for you! It's just the bread sticks that rack in the calories and carbs! And if I do say so myself, I thought the hair repair was great! No more gray! I also agree on the running. I walk and start out pretty fast, but just can't keep the pace. I hope to some day. When you need to lose over 50 pounds, the excess weight can be a hinderance with exercise.

Michele--sending lots of pixie dust to you! I am falling behind for the month of May, and hope to have June to put it all into rights again. We can do it! Lets go!

Michelle--Grass! Yeah for you. Now, the watering bill will follow! :rotfl: My DH is protesting this year. He says that he isn't going to water no matter what. Just the plants to keep them growing, but the grass can burn. Those are his words! We will see. He will get half way thru the summer and change his mind. He always does.

Dona! My DS's physic's class went to Michigan's adventure for the same thing. He loved it. It is so good for them to see just what they learn is really part of everyday living. He said that he wished they could have stayed longer. There just wasn't enough time to do all the experiements and calculations. It was a great way to finish off the class. Now, they are all done and looking forward to summer. Unfortunetly DD gets bored really fast--her brain just goes a mile a minute and we can't keep up. I told her today she needed to start with crossword puzzles or something to keep her mind satisfied. Wish she was old enough to paint the house! :goodvibes

Ok, now it is time to finish getting re-aquainted with everyone! Seems like I have been gone forever. And I will get a photo up with the grad in it!

Best to all!

Let's rock this summer!

Wendy

Good Afternoon!

This morning I was at home because we had to have our oil burner cleaned out (once a year, whether it needs it or not). I did just over 3 mi on the TM. It felt good to be moving. I walked to "Supersize Me" yesterday. Good movie, makes you think. I also did my outdoor run/walk on Saturday, 2.6 miles in about 35 minutes. It felt awesome. I had a great day, and I was running at just after 6 am, which is the really amazing part. If you had told me six months ago I would willingly be up and working out at 6 am, I would have told you you were

I find I am eating much better since I started typing everything I eat in at Sparkpeople. For those that asked, Sparkpeople is a free online service that helps you get healthy. You have pages where you can track your exercise and eating, water, weight, journal, etc. You earn points for doing things you should, and points for reading articles, watching videos, etc. If you're motivated by this (and I am), it's a great site. It does take alot of time -- I've been doing it less than two weeks, and my DIS time has suffered. But, I am losing weight. It is working for me.

I had set a goal to lose 5 lbs. by June 1st, and I lost 5.5! Of course, I started working on that before I joined, but I can definitely see a difference in the balance of what I put in my mouth. You get reports on the carbs, protein and fats proportions you are eating, and what it should be. I have been working hard to cut my carbs and add in more protein, and I do feel better and stronger.

They also have threads composed of various teams of people with similar interests. I joined the DIS team (some of you are already there!), and it's nice because people chat about Disney. I haven't been doing it long enough to be a commercial, but so far so good.

Wendy -- You have had such a busy, happy time! I bet you are looking forward to enjoying the summer. I wish you sunshine and balmy breezes!:beach:

Dona -- DH is back to running, so he must be better?:confused3 I'm hoping he doesn't precipitate a relapse...

Kat -- I think your exercise plan has plenty of cardio! Wow, you are busy, fitting all that in. Great job on the diet! 1200 calories is fantastic!:cool1:

Everybody have a wonderful evening! I'm on the bike tomorrow -- any fun plans for movin' to lose it?! :goodvibes

Maria

Maria, great job on meeting your goal! Just wonderful. I have a goal of 8 pounds for june. We are going to Mackinaw City/Island this weekend for 3 days. We walk alot while we are there. We swim and do lots of miniture golfing (DD is addicted) We are going without the DS. He is going to stay at home and go to his best buds' grad party and then on Sunday he is taking his grandmother to lunch in South Haven to meet with her sister and brother. They will have a nice time. Dmil is going to be 85 at the end of this month, and doesn't drive more than 15 miles from home. Smart lady. They will have a great time. Just don't kow what I will do without him at Mackinaw. Guess DD will have all the attention!

Got to get a few things done.

Hava a great week to all!

Wendy

Changed picture to the graduation one. I will accept all positive comments, and I will take credit for all the reasons that helped bring about all those positive comments! :lmao:

Weather isn't the best, it was cold today and now it is getting rainy. Isn't it June? Oh--I forgot--I'm in Michigan! Where the weather is crazy anyways!

Off to work!

Wendy

Hi Everyone!

Wendy -- What an awesome picture, and a fine looking young man. He looks ready to take on the world!

I am feeling a little martyrish since it's my birthday, and neither dh nor ds said a word. I don't blame ds, if dh didn't tell him, he wouldn't know. I'm sure dh probably has something great planned for after the 5K tomorrow, but it would be nice if he would at least say "Happy Birthday". On the bright side, my dad left me a message on my voicemail at work, so that was awesome.

I am running my first 5K tomorrow, wish me luck!

I'm also still spending a ton of time on Sparkpeople. I'm having fun, and that's the first time I've ever been able to say that about trying to get healthy.

Everyone have a fantastic day and a wonderful weekend!
Maria

Maria :bday: :bday: You just missed being born on DOnald Duck's birthday by 1 day (It is June 9th my sister's birthday and he is her favorite character)

Good luck on your 5k tomorrow. ANything you do is a step up. Keep up the hard work.

Happy birthday!!!

The grad photo is beautiful.

I joined sparkpeople yesterday and joined the DIS team. I am HockeyKat there too.

I did my weigh-in today and I am down to 194. I have now lost all of my "found" WDW trip weight plus 1 more, and I have a total loss of 24 lbs since Feb 5. I get my WISH bling back, too!!

My Sept goal is 170, and my final goal is 145. I am 5'8 so I am going to play it by ear a bit and see how things look at 150. I am a size 14-16 now and I want to be a size 6-8, so 145 is probably good.

Hope everyone has a great (and skinny!) weekend!!

Happy Birthday Maria! How was the 5k?

Thanks everyone for the great comments on DS and his GF. I am just thankful he has my hair and not his dad's hair. Well, if he had his dad's hair, at least we would know what happened to it :lmao:

Off to Mackinaw City/Island for a 3 day weekend. Our annual trip after DH's graduation ceremonies at work the second Friday of every June. He does love that part of the job, as he gets to dress in all the regalia of his master's degree and usher the new graduates thru their paces.

Well, I should sleep a bit. With having been on third shift this week, I doubt I will be too involved in wandering around the town later today. Just knowing I am out of town and relaxing has an amazing affect on me! Hot tub and pool side tonight!
