150 Club....Care to join??? Continued.

This is a quick drive-by... currently sitting on my balcony at WDW. We get home on Thursday and I am re-committing (again, sigh) then.

For now, though, it is 80 and sunny, enjoying a beer, and then off to Stormalong Bay! Yes, my fat white behind is stuffed into a bathing suit and the rest of them can just look the other way!

I would like to join your club!

My name is Jen and I don't know how much I weigh...but it can't be good. Currently don't have batteries for the scale, but I'll find out.

All of my adult life I've weighed between 140-145 like clockwork with no real work to it...THEN a few years ago I gained 25 lbs in a year and I got sick a lot..found out I had a thyroid problem (my thyroid pretty much doesn't work). So I got on medication and by the end of it all I was up near 170 or so lbs. Then being depressed I gained another 10 or so.

I lost about 20 lbs in total about a year and a half back trying to get my life back in control but I'm positive that my weight has crept back up because me and my husband snack too much and have been eating too much bad food.

SOOOOO! I want to get down to 150 again!!!

Wow! We are welcoming people left and right!

:welcome: Jen and willonlyflytodisney!

Today was not my best by a long shot. I just haven't been motivated to exercise since I Saturday. On the bright side, I had yoga at work so I had to do that -- so at least I did something! I also ate more than I should have during the day, but I held myself to a sensible dinner. I'm not expecting a loss Friday, it's TOM and I know it's not going to be pretty. I tried to be in control, but I think my hormones got the best of me. Hopefully I'll be further along next month and I'll be more in control.

I just wanted to check in quickly before bed. Everyone have a great night and a fantastic tomorrow. One of my favorite sayings is, "Onward and Downward!"

Welcome all the newcomers. There are a nice new group that has come on here in the last couple of weeks.

Maria I know what you mean I ddin't work out yesterday morning and this morning has been a mess. I wasn't feeling well last night and I knew I would toss and turn so I slept on the couch. I woke up a couple of times last night and the last time I checked it was 4 AM. I woke at 5 and dh came down and asked if I knew we had a messagge on the machine and I was half asleep. I had a delayed opening this morning and then got another phone call to say I have no school. Dh got 2 phone calls to say he has no school. The waiting for the phone calls is annoying and I knew I wouldn't get in any consistent workout.

Have a great day. Be careful out there the storm is here in jersey and it is heading your way Maria

I joined a 150 thread years ago. I'm back and glad to see the WISH board is still going strong. I want to join!

This is a double post from the C25K, but what is copy/paste for if not this?

I started C25K this morning. I got Robert Ullrey's week one podcast last night. We have a fitness center at work. I used the treadmill - outside is icky right now. The anticipation of the first 1 minute run was surprising. I made it through and was pleased that I didn't feel as though I was going to die!

My high weight was in the 240s. That was around 1998. I lost some weight - 20 or 30 pounds - in 1999 on the eat less/move more plan. In 2001 I heard about a long distance bike ride from co-workers. It sounded like a fun challenge and I started preparing for it. I was in the 180s by the start of the bike ride in June 2002. It was 250 miles and my biggest fear was being swept at the end of the day! I made it. It was awesome.

My weight remained steady and while I get some exercise I want to get fitter. My girlfriend and I have been looking for motivation and a plan. I suggested a BIG target and told the story of my ride preparation. She chose running a 5k.

One thing lead to another and now we plan to participate in a local 5K in late April. Of course this enthusiasm has me excited about the possibility of running in the WDW half marathon January 2010.

I haven't been to WDW since 2005 and coming back for that purpose would be amazing!

We do MUCH better with a weekly menu. Someone mentioned knowing what you will eat makes avoiding afternoon snacking easier - hear, hear! I KNOW I will eat, but knowing it will be grilled shrimp with peas and brown rice makes passing the candy bowl easier somehow. That's tonight's dinner. Last night was grilled porkchops (yea George Foreman!) carrots and mashed potatoes.

I suffer from mindless eating disorder and have found the right prescription is an empty pantry. We don't deprive ourselves completely however. A skinny cow for dessert is a constant.

I look forward <Buzz Lightyear on> to 150 and beyond <Buzz Lightyear off>.

Thanks for reading,
Ronda

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. I haven't weighed myself yet *is scared*. I haven't exercised either, but I've been working the last few days and it's so hard for me to exercise on days I work because I'm on my feet all day.

I need to get back into it though, I like doing the DDR (Dance, Dance, Revolution) video game. I would like a Wii Fit but don't have the $$ right now for all of that. In the summer me and my husband will start tennis again I'm sure but it's so freezing right now I don't even want to go out.

Well, today I'm cleaning which burns a lot of calories :thumbsup2

Good luck everyone :cheer2:

Good morning everyone! This week is just not going that well for me. I didn't excercise at all on Monday. DH wanted to drive by a few houses we're interested in. Then last night I did excercise and I did my mile and half but it took me longer. I just didn't have the energy to do it at the normal speed I usually do. I'm getting a terrible cold and I feel like crap. DH was sick last week. He had a stomach bug too though and lost about 6 pounds and seems to be keeping it off. I'm just getting stuck with the head cold.

My eating has been off too. I haven't been really bad but I haven't been as good as I was last week. Luckily though I haven't gained any. I've actually lost .4 and I'm down to 180.4 so that's good. I haven't been as good with my water the last couple days either, but I have been drinking more coffee and hot tea and hot chocolate which I make with water. Still no regular soda although I have had 1 diet soda each day.

Anyway, I hope I can get back on track. I'll be glad if I don't gain this week and maybe even still hit my goal of 180 or below.

Don't beat yourself up about being sick, I'm sure you'll meet your goal soon :) I'm sure that when you shake the cold you'll get your energy back but you gotta take care of yourself to shake the cold!

I had a big surprise when I got on the scale this morning.....a new lower number I haven't seen in a while!! :cool1: I am going to get on the TM this afternoon/evening!! I MEAN IT I WILL! I can't figure out why I am struggling with the TM so much - I like it once I get going I really do - at one time I was doing 5 miles a day on it but man, I just can't seem to get into a routine. UGH!

Margaret - Sorry you aren't feeling well. Take some time to get well then get back on track!! :grouphug:

Rhonda - welcome back! I have recently returned too! Sounds like you have the eating part of the plan figured out! I am with you on the weekly menu if I don't have one I am sure to stray. Good luck!

CobraBubbles - Want to come clean my house??? It'll give you more calories to burn!! LOL! :rotfl2:

Marie and Dona - Hope you are keeping warm and staying out of the storm!

Marie it really isn't fair that one week a month that just won't give up a loss. Doggone Mother Nature!

Stay focused everyone!! Have a great evening!!! :wave2:

Oh man...
It is very hard to get up early and work out. Today I skipped it and worked out from 5 to 5:30 instead, but it just doesn't feel as good. After I work out, I instantly have more energy for the day. So, when I work out in the morning, I feel great alll day. I didn't work out yesterday so it felt extra worse.

I totally agree about the finding it hard to get into a routine.

Any tips on how to get motivated for early morning work outs?

I also got on my Wii Fit today to find that not working out yesterday and this morning resulted somehow in a 1.8 pound weight gain!!!

I've been eating small lunches, but grrr :confused3

But, in good news, this working out is part of making a better me, so I got my new skin ID medication today and we will see what happens tomorrow. Here's hoping that my face doesn't have an allergic reaction:)

Hope everyone else had a great Wednesday.

Good Thursday morning Just a quick post before I head to work. We had yesterday off and today is the last day before we start midterms tomorrow.

I just did some walking in place for 25 minutes. I will walk again during cafeteria duty. If I don't work out first thing in the morning it will probably not get done during the day especially since it is cold outside. If it was nice then I might walk if I feel like it when I get hoome from school. It is easier since I am usually alone for the first hour after I get home.

All our snow is gone. We had a very heavy rain yesterday after the snow. I am worried about ice this morning since I leave so early (6:15) The kids are going to be really squirelly today. I am not looking forward to this.

Have a great day everyone. I will check in again tonight.

YAY :thumbsup2 Congrats!

Haha, I wore myself out cleaning my house yesterday! Interestingly enough I did used to be a housecleaner. That will be $70 :upsidedow

I don't know. I used to go to the gym in the morning before work and it was really hard. I think you just have to do it and then it's okay once you get in the routine. I want a wii fit, how do you like it!

Ooh I hate the cold! I'm going out to walk just now and it's really cold and it's going to make it a lot harder to have a nice walk. I don't think I have the patience to walk in place...

-------

I'm doing well. Had a sort of bad dinner last night and then a bad snack but I'm not deterred. I still haven't weighed myself (gotta check those batteries...I'm not procrastinating at all :rolleyes1 ) but today I'm going for a walk. I'm going to start training for a 5k and running is something I simply DO NOT DO. I'm into doing something adventurous though. I have to get there by June so I think I can. I'm starting off walking while it's still bitterly cold though.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

Does anyone have motivational podcasts to recommend? Not the interval running podcasts, but ones that you listen to for encouragement? Not Stuart Smalley, but something to break a cycle/pattern of unhealthy behavior.

I work out in the morning and it makes me feel great. I have lunch and the the afternoon is a battle not to start grazing at the various candy dishes nearby. I work quietly at my desk (sounds like a 3rd grader's goal) and, as long as I don't break out in song, can listen to anything I want.

Any ideas?

This is a good question. I like to listen to music that I really enjoy. I am very old fashioned in my style so there is a lot of older type songs on my MP3. I also love show tunes and piano music but I am looking for something soothing to put on the MP3 and something motivational might also be good.

Anyone?

hey ladies. Today has been a good day so far. My dd and I went for another walk down to the beach. I fell really great. Hope every one has a pleasent day.

I'm concluding a pretty good day. A couple ounces of peanuts weren't in my plan, but that was the only detour. DGF and I have started C25K and I am figuring out my schedule. I think it will be M-W-F one week and then Su-Tu-Th the next. I go to work early and use the fitness center there. As it warms up and starts getting lighter earlier I'll begin using the park behind our building. Until then it's all treadmill for me.

I plan to bike to work on the off days. I really like biking in, but needed some variety and a break.

I haven't gotten on the scale in a while. I like Fridays. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Belle1230 - a beach sounds great right now. It's cold here.

donac - how were the squirrels?
Ronda

Me and my husband and sister are doing this, too. We just started but we are doing a few weeks of walking before we even get into any kind of jogging :rotfl:

I walked a mile today, and I finally weighed myself. It was a little less than I expected - 176 lbs. So I set myself a goal for the month and I'll weigh in again at the end of Feb. Oh, then I had fried chicken for dinner *head desk*. I'll do better tomorrow.

I am the same as I weighed last week but that is okay since I had a big weight loss lasst week (4.8 pounds last week)

Kids weren't bad yesterday. Today we have to go through 20 minute classes and then have a 2 hour exam. Off to give tests Have a great day everyone .

Good Morning all! I got a little off plan for dinner last night we had to go to a company dinner and so I had pasta. I just couldn't resist.:guilty: Oh I did walk down to the beach again yesterday afternoon before we went to eat so maybe the pasta didn't screw my plan up to bad.

Ronda93: Yes the beach is warm I am not good with cold weather. The only bad part is having to look at all these skinny super model girls. But my goal is to be one of the skinny girls by the end of the summer (or at least a skinner girl) LOL!:rotfl2:

Donac Hope your kids are good for you today! Congrats on the 4.8lb loss last week. :thumbsup2

Well I am off to make breakfast for my DD she just woke up. Then off for our morning walk!!!

Hope everyone has a great and productive day!!!

Hey Ladies!

Sigh. Ok, I got some perspective from Dona, so I'm not going to be sad. I stayed the same this week. It's actually not bad, and I had an awesome loss last week, plus I'm retaining Hoover Dam -- so next week will rock! :thumbsup2

Last night was ds11's birthday. He wanted McDonald's for his birthday dinner, followed by Friendly's ice cream for dessert. Not what I wanted, but what can you do?

He's having a sleepover tonight to celebrate. We bought all kinds of chips, cookies, fruit, etc. Tween boys can really eat. I'm hoping there won't be many leftovers. I also bought a ton of 100 cal packs, so I can still eat but I'll have a sensible portion all ready.

Anyway, I'm starting to come down with a cold, and this is sort of pathetic -- I'm actually looking forward to the part where I feel so blah I don't want to eat, I'm really eager for a loss next Friday! :rotfl2:

Belle -- Portions are really crucial with pasta. If you can limit yourself to one cup, you won't do too much damage. :thumbsup2

Dona -- I so admire what you do! I teach Sunday School for an hour a week for 10 wks, and it's all I can manage to plan those lessons, even with all the materials provided! ::yes::

Ronda and Cobra -- C25K is a great way to get moving! I know you lots of people on the boards who swear by it! :cool1:

Margaret, Melissa & willonlyflytod -- I hope you guys are set up for a great weekend! :wave2:

My goal, even with the cold settling in, is to get moving again. I did almost nothing this week, and I can feel it. After all the kids leave tomorrow, I'm going to walk on the TM. I'm not going to try to jog, I'm just going to walk. Gotta get in motion!
