150 Club....Care to join??? Continued.

I posted this on another WISH thread but I will here too.

These are my plans. Back to basics. It worked for me in the past, and will again.

1) Stay away from the drive thru, chips, junk food, etc.
2) Plan. In other words, stock/make healthy foods and have them available.
3) 64 oz of water a day. Period. Even tho I hate it.
4) Move.
5) Moderate alcohol to occasional
6) Get at least 8 hrs of sleep a night
7) Willpower to accomplish 1-6.
8) TRACK!! I am going to start sparkpeople again today and put in my weekend food as well.

My goal is to lose 30 lbs by the summer and be back into the 150s. I am not sure what I weigh right now because I am too scared to look, but I imagine it is somewhere between 180 and 190.

I could KICK myself for backsliding so much...

Well I am trying not to snack so much. Basically slowly trying to reduce my impulse eating. I wish I had a stronger plan, but I figure any little bit helps.

I can't even imagine running 1 mile, let alone 10. WOW! I'm impressed!
Debra

Good luck Maria. I hope you have an easy day on Sat. I hope all your hard work has paid off.

Sounds like we are looking at losing a similar amount. I'm fluctuating between 182 and 184 and I'd like to get back down to 150 to 155. That's a pretty good weight for me. 145 is great, but I'd be thrilled at 155.

I don't think I did too bad over Christmas, but it's time to get serious now. My plan was to get on the treadmill last night, but by the time I left work at 5:15, went to the grocery store, fixed dinner, cleaned up after dinner, got DD in the shower and then hair dryed and in bed it was 8:30. So I watched TV and read and then went to bed. So tonight I'm getting on the treadmill.

I think my biggest problem is I can't seem to get motivated. I've started and stopped WW several times. Years ago when I did WW I lost 5 pounds easily the first week. It was very motivating and then I steadily lost 1 to 2 pounds a week after that. So in the first month I had lost around ten pounds or a little over. This time around I just can't seem to get motivated. I tend to go the other way. I don't see any change so then I throw in the towel. If I'm going to be fat I might as well at least enjoy a piece of cheesecake.

I know that's the wrong atittude, but it sucks to feel fat and deprived on top of it. I need to break that cycle or I'll be pushing 190. And i need to get the excercise into my schedule as a regular thing. So I'm starting fresh this week. I'd like to be down in the 150's by summer time. I have fat arms too and I'd really like to tone them up some before tank top and bathing suit season. They have always been large, but they are extra large right now.

Hey Ladies!

This will probably be my last post before we fly out on Thursday for the Half Marathon. I am getting excited about the BL Challenge 7. I can't really get into it until we get back (in fact, I suspect I'll post a gain this week because I have to weigh Thurs., and various other reasons), but once I return I am going gangbusters!

I'm going to have to really work on my eating. I'm used to a ton of calories to keep up my strength, and I'm going to have to seriously reduce the amount. I guess I'll just post all the time to keep my fingers busy! :lmao:

ktmom -- I know what you mean about doing everything for your family and then being too tired to work out. When I get back I'm going to go back to am workouts. I don't love getting up at 5:30, but it really does make a difference for me. :goodvibes

Kat -- Your goals sound great! You are totally focused and will do wonderfully1 :thumbsup2 I agree it is really hard to drink a gallon of water every day. But you can do it ::yes::

Dona -- Thank you so much for your good wishes! I am really hoping to wear that medal on Saturday! :donald:

Debra -- Trust me, I didn't start out doing 10 miles, and I only do it once before the Half, so once a year for me! :rotfl:

Ok, just another hour or so and I'm calling it a work day, then off to pack, etc. Everyone have a wonderful week or so, and I will check back after the 14th!

Maria :woohoo:

Well I did good yesterday. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill. I limited my snacks during the day and only one small glass of diet coke at lunch. And I drank my 64+ ounces of water. I hate that water logged feeling you get though. I hope that goes away as you get used to drinking the water.

I've got a little bit of a headache I guess from the lack of soda/caffeine. I did have a cup of coffee yesterday morning and today. But I'm thinking about switching to decaff tomorrow. I'm hoping that cutting out the sodas along with getting on the treadmill will help jumpstart the weightloss. I was drinking a lot of regular soda each day. If I could just see some loss I know it would make it easier to keep going.

Well it's been a good and bad week for me. I didn't get on the treadmill anymore until last night. But I did do 30 minutes again last night. I have to get that into my schedule more regularly. I know that would make a huge difference.

I've been doing good about the soda. I haven't had any regular soda still and I've been doing okay limiting my diet soda except over the weekend. I seemed to drink more without thinking about while I was at home all day. At work I do okay sticking to water except for a cup of coffee in the morning.

I haven't really been dieting but just trying to make better choices. I weighed this morning and I was down one pound to 182.4. I was hoping for more with cutting out the soda. But at least its a start. Instead of needing to lose 33.4 pounds, now I only need to lost 32.4 pounds. I'm hoping for a little more this week. I'd like to get under 180.

KT (what is your real name so I can start using it?) I am right there with you on weight. I was 183 yesterday.

So far I am kicking butt, but I leave for WDW a week from Fri and that is sure to derail me some.

I haven't gone over 1200 cals since Sat the 3rd when I recommitted, and I went to the gym Thurs (30 elliptical + 15 dreadmill), Sat (30 cross trainer), Sun did the mini-stepper for 30 min at home, Mon was 95 minutes of ice hockey, and yesterday I did a 45 min kickboxing class.

I have also had my 64 oz of water each day and am doing 30-50 crunches every other day.

Today, I feel like I got hit by a truck (SO SORE!!) but I am feeling good about progress.

My name is Margaret. Sorry, I guess I never really introduced myself. I'm 32, married with one DD. I work full time at a job that keeps me behind a desk all day.

I haven't been counting calories yet. I wanted to get the soda addiction out of my system first. My hope was that it would sort of jump start my weightloss a little bit considering the amount of regular soda I was drinking. I was also drinking little to no water each day. Now I'm hitting my 64 ounces each day. Well I didn't do so well over the weekend. But I still haven't had any regular soda.

NIce to meet you Margaret! I am Kat, or Kathryn, either one. I just turned 33 in late Dec.

I also sit behind a desk all day. Doesn't help with the weight loss effort!

I am not good at water on weekends either. I have a cup now that I measured out at 32 oz and I try to fill it and keep it with me during the day.

I haven't had regular soda in years... too sweet for me now.

I have a 33 ounce water bottle at work and I just refill it at our water tower. I've been trying to drink two a day and most days I do. RIght now I'm half way through my second bottle already. I've also had a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. I don't count those towards my water total though.

My birthday is in december too.

Yesterday was good. I did my 30 minutes on the treadmill, I drank more than 64 oz of water and I didn't have any soda at all, not even a diet one. I should be able to get on the treadmill again tonight and I'm off tomorrow so I can walk again while DD is at school. I will have made my goal of 4 days this week. Now to just keep it up each week. I want to work up to five or six days a week eventually.

Oh me me me! I was just thinking the other day that I wish there was a weight loss thread on the DIS. It never occured to me that there is a weight loss FORUM on the dis. I am so happy to find you guys down here!

Me, I am definitely trying to get to 150! (and then some..but 150 is a good start!) Since January 1st, I have lost about 4 lbs on a 1200ish calorie a day diet w/exercise. I am currently 158. My goal is to be 145 by my birthday (April 5) and 132 by June 1st. :cheer2: 132 is my pre-pregnancy weight, my youngest is almost FIVE, and I am going to be 31 years old..I don't want to carry around the extra weight anymore. I am so glad to be a member of this forum to stay motivated.

I'm back from the Half Marathon and ready to take on the weight loss world! I am amazed that even with all the junk I ate, I managed to lose a little. This next week should be even better -- we went to BJ's and stocked the house with 100 cal stuff, and I'm excited to get back to more manageable workouts that leave me less hungry!

Woohoo! Let's Go Girls! I am jumping in where I am, gotta *Keep Moving Forward!*

Maria

Okay so I didn't so great this weekend. I had wings on Sunday. But they were so good. I only had 9, but I did dip them in ranch. So yesterday it was time to get back in gear and I did really good all day as far as eating and drinking my 64 ounces of water and even did my 30 minutes on the treadmill last night. So I'm off to a good start this week. I'd like to end the week at or under 180. I'm about 182 right now so I don't think this is too unrealistic if I'm careful, continue to drink my water and get in my walking each night.

Sorry I haven't been around. Just totally in a funk. I think I am crawling my way out of it but I really do apologize for not posting more. I haven't been doing so well on the diet but will be back on following my WDW trip next week.

Today is a snow day here!! :cool1:

We don't get them often here, in fact, this is the first measurable snowfall in this area in like 3-4 years. Right now we have about 4-5" on the ground. And this being NC, we have NO plows and NO salt. My cul-de-sac is completely pristine, has not been touched.

For those that might be interested, here are pics:

These are out my front door and my back patio door. Including the 9 mo old kitten going, what is THAT??

So, today I sit on the chaise lounge and enjoy being safe and warm. :goodvibes

We have had very little snow up here in jersey. Yesterday it would snow lightly and then stop and almost melt all away and then start to snow again.

I have not been doin very well with my diet. I did okay yesterday and then almost killed dh and ds when they asked if I wanted any ice cream

Anyone interested in snow? We got about 16" over the weekend, in two separate storms. I have plenty to spare....

I did 4 mi Saturday and 3 yesterday, plus a yoga tape Sunday.

My eating is a work in progress. I'm supposed to do 2 mi and yoga when I get home. At this point it's debatable. My first full day back at work has been long and stressful, and I just want to watch Y&R...

My kids and I are soooo jealous that you guys got snow in NC but we got none in VA. They have been threatening snow for 2 days, and we haven't seen a flake. We have only had one 5 second snowfall all winter! I say if it has to be so bitter cold all the time it might as well snow!

Yeah, but we haven't had measurable snow in probably 4 years!

My husband is happy because we got to go in the hot tub in the snow. He has wanted to do that since we moved into this house (in '05).

Here is the hot tub in the snow:
