Hi we are leaving Friday for a 5 night trip to DL staying at the Grand Californian. We booked two packages since there are six in our party. We received our packets in the mail from Disney Travel but no gift cards. I was really looking forward to the extra 300. Do you know if I was supposed to get them or maybe you get them at the hotel?

Thanks

Jen

I've always received the gift cards in the 'very cute and well organized' Disney travel packet/envelope.

There should be a little card of some kind with the name of the person who put your packet together too. Look through the packets again carefully. They might be in a section marked "Extra Magic" or something like that. If you can't find them, I would call right away a let them know that you're missing two $150 gift cards.

I booked with Disney like the original poster and got the gift card in our packet.

With your travel packet, there should be a Guest Intinerary listing the package components. Make sure it says "$150 Disney Gift Card (1)" on each packet.

Look in the envelope marked "Disney Theme Parks". This envelope may contain your Disney Gift card, possibly in the upper pocket.

Good luck and I hope you get this worked out.

Shoot..had I known there were gift cards available, I would have booked packages instead of doing all components separately with my AAA discount. Who did you book through?

We were told the $150 gc is to be picked up upon check in at the hotel.

When we went last year, we were given our $150 card at check in.

To the person that booked through AAA. Your overall rate was probably a bit lower than if you booked the package, so it may make up the $150 difference.

How long is that special going on? Do you have to book at a Disney property to get the gift card?

I checked it out..it is for stay on property for 4 or more nights and expires at the end of April, so we aren't elegible since we are staying only three nights and aren't going until May. Good deal though!
I didn't use AAA to book my stay, (they priced out as MORE expensive) I just booked with the Grand Californian and used my AAA discount, then they offered to add the park hoppers at the reduced internet rate. So, overall, I saved a bit booking by myself than going through a package. But it only made enough of a difference to bother since I am paying for 11 people's vacations. If it was just DH and I it wouldn't have been worth it.
Have fun with your gift cards!

We booked via Alaska and are suppose to get ours at check in as my whole trip is a computer printed voucher

I bought our package through the Disney website and recieved my package in the mail last week and it states my gift card will be given to me upon check in at the hotel.

That's just weird because we got ours with our packet. Hmmmm, I just don't know what to think about this. Maybe they changed how they do it recently?:confused3

Or maybe it's because I booked through Costco? (Which actually links to Disneyland Resort Reservations, but all my docs still say Costco on them.)

Maybe many people were reporting them missing, so they decided this was safer...we got our paltry $20 giftcards in our packet from Costco/WDTC, but I personally think I'd rather have them to pick up at the hotel. Then again, I do like using the giftcards on disneyshopping for stuff (I got mickey-print dresses and a bathing suit before our trip in Sept), so I'd probably WANT them now. :)

If booked through Dreams Unlimited, do you think I will get them in the packet or at check-in? We are staying at a Good Neigh. hotel.

It's hard to say.

If you receive a voucher in your packet for a Disney Gift Card, I would assume that, since you're staying at a Good Neighbor hotel and it's unlikely they have a stack of Disney gift cards to give out, you would have to go to Disneyland Resort guest services to get your gift card.

I thought the $150 gift card was only for stays at any of the 3 DLR hotels: GCH, DLH, PPH. Good neighbor hotels are eligible for that promo. Are you referring to a different gift card promo?

We also booked our DL package through Dreams Unlimited, and we'll be eligible to receive a gift voucher. :hippie: I think this is maybe a promo run directly by DU, but I'm not absolutely positive.
