Our limo will be stopping for a 15 minute grocery stop. What have you found to be the most useful purchases?

It all depends on what you like to snack on, how old your kids are and where you are staying.

I like to grab some juice boxes, beer, wine, milk and OJ to drink. I also buy apples and bananas that do not need refrigeration, individual snack packs of crackers or cookies, microwave popcorn, and Dole fruit cups. The juice boxes, snack packs and fruit cups come into the parks with us. You can also buy bigger packages of snacks and put them into ziplock bags you brought with you.

If you're at a resort with a food court you can also buy bagels and cream cheese for breakfast. For instance, toasters and microwaves are available at the All Star resorts that you can use. You can buy a styrofoam cooler at your grocery stop to keep things cold, but we bring a collapsable cooler.

Given that you only have 15 minutes, I would make a list before you get there!

we bought bottled water, much cheaper than in parks and it was nice to always have cold water to drink when we got back from the parks or during the night (we didn't have a fridge but kept ice in the ice bucket) we packed cold bottles for our days in the water parks too. we are not fond of the taste of florida tap water.

I'm a Diet coke and peanut m&m junkie! No, really, snacks - we always get chips, pop, milk (we always have a fridge in the room) and cookies. When else but vacation do you indulge in all of your foodie weaknesses!

I am planning on packing or shipping a lot of the snacks and then using the grocery stop to pick up things like water, juice, maybe some milk. 15 mins is not that long (Tiffany is 30mins) so make a list of things that can not be shipped or packed and slit it between the adults or older (teenage) kids. Do the mad dash and meet back at teh checkout.

When we go we take things listed as the others have. We pack a small suitcase full of snack foods and when we come home we have a suitcase for souvenirs. It works great.

We always buy a cheap ($3) styro cooler, pop, milk, small boxes of cereal, styro bowls, spoons, fruit, and snacks. We are not not big breakfast eaters so we have fruit and ceral in the room and save a ton on money. You can keep ice in the cooler from the ice machine.

Definitely bottled water - it is expensive to buy it at the parks. We also got soda and beer. We had already packed some of the small cereal boxes for quick morning breakfasts in the room and got milk at the gift shops in the resorts.

Here is our list:

Lots of beer, water and Capri Sun drinks, a can or two of nuts, fruit snacks, a breakfast item (like a coffee cake), boxed milk, Pringles, styrofoam cooler, dish soap, pretzels.

Lots of beer ...
Can I vacation with you ;)?

You just reminded me of something that I bring along when you mentioned dish soap. I pack O-Cedar Solos which are small sponges with the soap built in. They're smooth on one side and have a scrubbie on the other side. I bought mine at Walgreens.

I would also encourage people to buy a styrofoam cooler like you do (with straight sides: |_|, not angled sides \_/) or bring a collapsible one like I do instead of renting a refrigerator. The refrigerators are very expensive and filling the cooler doesn't take too much time. Once in the morning before we leave and once when we go to bed does the trick. I save the plastic bags from the grocery store to bring the ice back to the room so I don't have to haul a heavy cooler and contents.
