$15 coupon not valid!!

Minnie's Mate--you are obviously confused about where to post you comments. This is just an FYI thread if you would to offer your opinion of the whole thing then go to the debate board. There are many codes posted on the internet for disc room and such that anyone can use. If you are not eligible for the disc--such as AP rate if you are not an AP holder then Disney lets you know when you try to make your ressie. In this case when I placed my order no mention was made of needing a coupon. If it said please have your coupon ready to mail in or whatever then I would have know and not used the code since I would not have had a coupon to send in.
And if we are so in the wrong--why are you posting comments here that you know may get the thread shut down.It seems as if that is your intention. Seems as if your high morality may be slipping a tad.

It seems like when Minnie's Mate tried to use the code, Disney had changed the site and the rules came up. Minnie's Mate must not be aware that before late Sat night NO rules or restrictions were on that site about the code. It seemed legitimate, like lots of other codes I am sent. The only restricition up was "one per purchase". It simply seemed like a decent sale to me. I placed an order that was $40, after the code I paid $35(with shipping). About like a 10% off and free shipping deal. No restrictions were stated at that time.
Back to the budget board: My order still stands. I did place it before restrictions were noted, not sure if they will ship it. I also want to know if the order tracking changes from "Active" to "Shipped" or whatever when the order is sent. ??

Just got this in e-mail. I will cancel this order and redo with a free shipping code or 10% off code I received. Hope they are true codes!!!

Hey -- it's me -- the big time crook who surfs the net to steal from Disney! :jester: ;)
My shipment staus reads "Order is closed" and "Shipped" -- on both orders.
The charge still wasn't on my VISA this morning. so I called VISA.
I was charged $.84 more each shipment than my original e-mail confirmations read. Guessing this comes into play over shipping or tax differences.
It's not the full $, plus shipping and with no DC discount. Which was going to be my concern. Then I was just going to refuse the packages.
As for the above -- let's face it --it's not worth the time to type a response, and who cares what they think anyway? No one is going to change anyone's mind on this situation.
I just think this whole thing was Disney's error, if they did not mean these codes be used as they were. Again, I have never heard/received anything official to say it WASN'T meant to be used as it was.
I do plan on thanking Disney for honoring this order, if this was not their intended outcome. And I think ANY company should have honored this if they made a mistake. It's not like a newspaper ad, that gets retracted in another section or something. We were never given an indication at the time of order this was not legite. And I haven't heard anything from Disney saying it's not. So why would I think different?

I also just got the "email" from Disney this morning. I responded to let them know that I think they handled this totally wrong. There were no stipulations on their website and the orders went through. I think they are wrong to not honor orders placed becasue of their lack of planning.

Not that I expect to get any response..I am losing more and more faith in Disney.

WOW! Well, THAT teaches ME to always start at the top when reading threads!

Don't worry, I am not going to shut down this thread - YET ;) . I will simply remove any posts that go against the Guidelines for Posting. Specifically the one that states "No Personal Attacks." And the ones that asks that you post on the relevant board. ie: Budget posts on the Budget Board, Debate topics on the Debate Board.

Now you may continue. In a FRIENDLY manner PLEASE! :)

I filed a complaint with the better business bureau-BBB.com.-the fact that i received e-mails thanking me for my orders and then no follow up from them really irked me.

4greatboys, you are right, I am confused. Based on the comments I have read, I thought this was a “berate Disney” thread. There are so many opinions of Disney offered here, I thought mine would be welcomed, too. But seeing that my last post has been deleted by the moderator and everyone else’s hasn’t, I guess I was wrong. Apparently I stepped on people's toes.

As for getting the thread shut down, I mentioned that in my post because when Tay N Evie's Mom posted the following: “You simply assumed what you read second hand was correct and you know what the saying says about people who assume...” Peachgirl wrote: “We all know what happens when people start arguing on this board..the thread gets closed.” The moderator thanked Peachgirl for her post.

Wonderlandmom is correct Bob NC, I was out of town visiting family over the week end from 11/01 through 11/03. When I returned, there was an e-mail from “Watchit” stating that this code was on Mary Waring’s site, Mousesavers.com. She is usually very thorough and doesn’t post things that haven’t been verified. This is why I tried the code on 11/5/02.

After speaking with the CM from the Disney Catalog I checked Mousesavers.com and the code and any reference to it were not on the site. Evidently Mary discovered the code wasn’t for the general public and removed it. In reference to being realistic, I was not referring to the code.

By the way, Wonderlandmom, thank you for your open mind.

Minnie's Mate - please check your Private Messages. Since your e-mail is not available, I had to contact you in that way.

I called today and cancelled everything, it just isn't worth going through all this headache.

Nice to see you Mary Jo - AND Simba! ;) :teeth:

I also recieved the posted e-mail from guest relations this afternoon even though I already canceled my order on Wednesday. I still feel that they should have honored the orders but I am grateful that they have at least acknowledged that this has been an incovenience even if they haven't come right out and taken responsibility. That was what bothered me the most. I still will not order from the online store ever again -- not worth the stress. Good luck to everyone else.

Wow, I go out for a few hours and I miss everything!:D I too got the email from Disney, but I'm a bit confused. In the email they didn't list all my order #'s. I had 5 orders that were placed on my account and the email only lists 4. Does this mean they're honoring the first order( my first order was the Lilo & Stitch DVD Set, so they wouldn't be shipping it anytime soon)? I'd like to know only because if they plan on honoring it, I want to cancel it. I know in the news article they said they were going to honor the orders placed before the notice was put up, so is this what they're doing? I had finally decided to cancel all my orders, and I will tell them in the email not to wait till the 23rd, but I was just wondering about the missing order number. Anybody know? I'll save the other stuff I have to say for the debate board.;)

THANK you peachgirl! :)

Hey, I read the entire thread, what was left of it at least. I knew you'd get me if I tried anything. :D

I just received a reply to my e-mail from Tuesday. (guest servces)
Not much said other than my orders were sent, with discounts deducted.
I replied yes, I saw that since I had written, and thanked them profusely for doing so, and for getting back to me, yada, yada, yada. (This mess is not this poor CM's fault who wrote to me. I am sure they are getting a lot of grief.)
So I do find it interesting I have yet to have any indication from Disney that this $15 discount was not legit and handled as should be.
Really, if I didn't read this board I wouldn't have a clue there was/is anything out of the norm on this order.
So my point is this whole episode is just odd.

peachgirl,
From what I am reading and what happened to me, all orders except the most expensive are to be cancelled. My most expensive order is sitting on my Living Room floor. It was the items I needed the least and they were "just for me", I need the Nephew's Christmas present much more than I need a singing toaster or another dust collector! LOL. I want to send back the order that I am not entitled to , but I do not want to be "out" the postage that I paid. I wish they would have just let me cancel all the orders rather than send me the one they made the biggest profit on. I may still return the items to the Disney Store this weekend. I resent that they did not give me the opportunity to cancel all of my orders.
