$15 coupon not valid!!

Good point hellow. I had no idea what the code was for when I used it... I just saw it was posted on Mousavers to use code HOLIDAY for $15.00... The site itself said 'one code per order'.. or something like that.

Poor, poor planning all around for Disney. The CSR repss also seemed unaware of the restrictions of the code when some placed phone orders, and they took the code without mention of sending in any card.

Nuff said on that... my order still says 'active, and in the warehouse' or something like that.

I did read on another board that someone was emailed "asking .. to send them by mail this famous "Holiday Magic Gift card"... guess we weren't allowed to use that $15 off without having spent $65 in a previous order placed between 8/12/02 and 8/26/02".. they placed that person's order on hold.

I feel I'm just waiting for them to get around to me, and pull the plug on my merchandise order.

Well, IF this happens guess I couold always make a mess all the way around and return the items to my DS and ask for my cards back. ;)
But I wouldn't. I would just file a consmer complaint and walk away from using the catalog. I put up with Disney (CRO) misusing my debit card. I put up with WDW Merch charging me weeks before an item was shipped. This would be strike three.
I have always thought the $10 DS DVD/VHS sale was re-done because of all the bad hype they received, and guest complaints from royally screwing it the first time. (I could be wrong. Just always a gut feeling on that.) Even then many said Nuts to them, I'm not falling for that again.
I think if Disney did something as stupid as to cancel the orders, they would really be majorly hurting themselves even further. And right before the holiday season.
Like someone else posted. They made $. Just maybe not as much as they anticipated on certain items. And only for what -- a few days?
I too have recived catalogs/e-mails from other suppliers offering pretty much the same offer for Christmas orders.

I've read posts from several different bulletin boards. All of them saying they called Disneystore.com and all of them with varying versions of what Disney was going to do. I've read they're going to cancel all orders. They're going to cancel only the gift cards. They're going to email everyone who ordered and give them the option of mailing in the card, cancelling the order or paying full price. They're going to charge EVERYONE the full price without authorization. Outside of cancelling gift cards, I haven't read one post where anyone has gotten any notice from Disney where they've actually done any of the above. Until I do, I'm not going to worry about it. I'm not questioning whether these people are actually getting told any of this, I'm questioning whether the people they talk to know what they're talking about.

I checked my orders today and they are at the distribution center....I guess we'll see if they ship today.

Good morning everyone. I was just wondering if anyone knows how long it usually takes for the online disney store to put an order through. I know that with amazon my orders have been processed by the next day so I am curuious to see if this is the normal amount of time for the disney store to take or not.

I have seen the message "at distribution center" for a few days sometimes, when I've ordered in the past. I don't think that's unusual.

I ordered some personalized sweatshirts so I anticipate my wait will be a little longer.

I never even bothered placing an order. Once I saw that the shipping alone (1 DVD to Canada) was $33.00 US I left the site. Like I need to pay over twice the shipping for one movie. Guess I'll go to my local video store and get it.

My order status still says 'at distribution center' and ACTIVE... I've not rec'd any email from them... anyone else gotten anything from Disney? Curious how this will pan out..

When I tried to use the code at the DisneyStore.com, I received a message that no promotion has this code. Please try again. Below that was a picture of the Holiday Gift Card and a link to the insturctions on how to use it. Below is a copy of the instructions:

Wew! That took a lot of typing. Anyway, I called the 1-800 number and was told that if you order over the phone, you would not have to mail in the card. That was a control messure to keep people from using it more than once. When you order over the phone, they make a record of its use and you can't use it again.

They allowed me to use the code over the phone and processed my order. This was on 11/05/02. By now they should have it together and not change their mind about its use.

I have ordered online and the items shipped within days - I even ordered a personalized sweatshirt on Oct 29 and it shipped Nov 2 - The coupdon orders still says active -

Doesn't the confirmation email say something like if there is a problem or item is out of stock, you will be notified within 24 hours. Well, hasn't 24 hours passed?

If Disney wants to request that I spend $65 to get the coupon, I will just send them all of my receipts from DL(I am an annual passholder), TDS, and online -

It will make some people mad, and maybe chase away a lot of future business.

It would be nice to know either way if we are getting our items - Christmas is not too far off!

I was just checking another website and someone on that board called and said they are not going to contact anybody, they are just going to hold the order until they receive the card. If they don't receive the card, the orders will just remain on hold. I have two questions:

1. What if you had the card, ordered per the instructions on the card and don't frequent any discussion boards. How are you supposed to know what is going on?

2. How long are they going to maintain a hold on a credit card without any notification that your order is on an indefinite hold?

The latest rumor I read was that a person called to check on their order and we're told that all orders that used the holiday code were being held until Disney received the $15 discount card. The poster also said that the person they spoke with said no emails or notices of any kind were being sent out, customers were being told when they called to check their orders. All I know is there sure are a lot of rumors flying around with no definite confirmation from Disney. I will say if they do it this way, my orders can sit at the distribution center till the cows come home. I'm not calling to check on the order, I don't want the stuff that bad. Guess we'll just wait and see what happens.

Peachgirl, I guess we checked the same board about the same time.

peachgirl -- Ditto. And then they can keep any other merchandise too. Nutz to 'em.

AuntBJ...Looks like it, huh?
:D I didn't see your post until after I wrote mine.

And then they can keep any other merchandise too. Nutz to 'em.

What bothers me is in less than 2 weeks, I'm going to the Disney Store to buy 3 PAP's to the tune of about $1500 and I'm being made to feel like I'M cheating THEM? I know, this isn't the place for this, but I just had to say it.:(

Just as an FYI, I checked my CC and the charges for my order have not yet been made.

If they don't send it then they don't send it.

I literally, just got off the phone with the disney store....they aren't going to process any orders with the holiday code. It's a really big mess.....she was very nice but she was very frank about Disney not going to honor the orders. I just canceled mine and I'm going to reorder all on one order so that I can get the free shipping. Bad news, I guess but sometimes we all make mistakes and when it's wrong, it's wrong.

My CC has not been charged yet either..I ordered on NOV 2. Other charges for other places have shown up. However, I did receive one email re: the gift card (canceled) however nothing on the 3 orders for merchandise. I do have the 2 holiday gift cards if they want me to mail them!

For me it's not just the orders. Big deal a pair of pants and a set of pins. (Like I need more pins. )
It's just one more time of Disney inconsistency, lack of good customer judgment and following their own rules (right or wrong).
I already won't deal with CRO. I've had shipping problems and attitude with WDW Merch. Now this.
With any branch of Disney, I have found if everything goes as it should, it's great. If it doesn't, their attitude seems to be Tough Luck.
I look at it in the long run they will be saving me lots of money. The rose colored glasses came off for good, so to speak. ;) Dealing with poor customer service on various occasions, just within this year, has really soured me.
This upcoming January trip, of course I am really looking forward to. I know we will have a great time. But this is the first trip since we have been going that I don't have one planned for afterwards.
This is just one of those times where things have piled up. One instance is bad enough, but they keep on coming. Any other company treating customers like this I wouldn't keep buying from either. There's nothing I can't live without and not like I can't go to other places to shop. Think I'll give WB on line a try. ;)
ANd like you, I will be forking over $ very soon for AP renewals. They have made PLENTY off me. I spend HUNDREDS on pins alone when I am in the parks, whether it be three days or eight.
I should sell my pins and buy a new car! ;)

What really gets me is inmy case this all pretty revolves around less than $20. I placed two orders with the $15 off, each. But was paying roughly $12 in shipping, total.
Not to mention I WAS going to order more yesterday (knowing no $15 code was in place.) Did I order and will I order? No.

Ok everyone,

Just got off the phone with Disney Store guest relations. I was informed that they will not ship any order with the holiday code until they receive the card in the mail. She even gave me the address to which I needed to send the card. No notifcation will be given to anyone with a holiday code order.

I just cancelled my order. Credit cards have not been charged because they don't charge the card until the item has shipped.
