Oh, yes, AI is a great place to sit on a hot day. It's cool, and the seats are mostly comfortable.
From selling ice-cream to an imagineer is pretty impressive! That's what I'm going to do in my second life!
OOPS! I missed replying to your post in the last round. Sorry about that!
The AI theatre is gorgeous. The airconditioning is nice, but it had rained shortly before we went in, and the temperature was a little too cold for my taste. I don't love the big differential between the heat outside and the indoor chill.
I imagine that there may have been a couple of other postions in between ice cream vendor and Imagineer, which is fantastic because I believe that having many different jobs in a place of employment make someone more successful in whatever career they end up in.
I love watching the AI shows at DHS. But then we are big fans at home too. We always hope we'll recognize one of the singers in our show on the actual television show. Hasn't happened yet. Ah, well. We'll have to try again!
How fun to have a Q&A with an Imagineer!
We used to watch AI, but we have missed the past couple of seasons.
Meet the Imagineer was my favorite part of the Y.E.S program. So unique!
I really like how Ben thinks. I remember trying that once on my parents. It didn't work either. GO BEN!!!
Ben is too smart for his own good (or ours), but the blackmail is not going to work.
I'm another one who has never been inside the American Idol Theater. It's funny because we used to watch Idol at home.
That sounds like a great presentation and a great message for kids to hear!
Amanda
I can't get my boys into the shows at Disney (Lion King, Nemo) or Universal (Horror Makeup Show or Beetlejuice), so I know there is absolutely no hope of ever getting them to watch Idol.
A lot of great messages in that presentation-
Never give up
Nothing is impossible
Work hard at what you love
Wow, the DHS Yes class sounds spectacular! Alex sounds like an amazing speaker (I love all three of those books).
Do you know what would happen if there was a scaredy cat (like me) who didn't want to ride ToT?
I love how your "sleep in" time is 5:30 a.m. and there are nights when I'm still awake at that time.
I have the Magic Kingdom Guide (yard sale purchase ), but not the other two, so I will have to pick those up. Especially the one for EPCOT since that park especially fascinates me.
Our teacher/tour leader Donna did not go on any of the rides with us, so if a student (or chaperone) wanted to sit out, they could. I just looked at the redneck ride photo, and it looks like 12 of our boys rode, so 2 sat out.
My body is just used to getting up early every.single.day. Mark leaves for work shortly after 5 every morning, so I get up with him and my body just can't adjust to sleeping later than that.
clearly I have been living under a rock - I JUST thought about your trip and read your entire TR so far. I am so sorry I'm such a DIS slacker!!!
Your first day definitely had me stressed out just reading about it - 20 people yikes!
I cannot wait to read the rest!
Glad to have you here!
20 people in our group was too many! I'm looking forward to future trips with just the 4 in my family. That will be so much easier!
