It's prefered room. We like Mowgli and Baloo a lot and it's by the kiddie pool and it's close to everything else. And yes, it's during peak season. I can't believe it's that much. And I have a ressies at POFQ this May for only $94!

I don't even know why I am staying on disney property if I am only going to Orlando to look for an apartment and check out the schools. I am only going to do one park. Yes, we are going in May, but I thought I'd go in April also. I don't think I can do everything at one trip in order to prepare myself to moving.

And then...the cost of the air, it would be around $350 or higher per pp rt. Isn't that a lot?! I guess it would be fine it it's just me, but I am bringing the kids too. What do you guys think? Any advice? Is the air ticket cheaper in June? Anyone care to share your thoughts, you guys are more than welcome to chime in. Thanks in advance! :)

Every day you didn't book your air travel was a day the air fare probably went up for that week. I have to go with the school schedule so I am stuck, and even then I am booked off a day (coming back on a Monday) due to rising air fare costs! If you can put off the need to be in Disney until June the airfare will go down drastically! I feel your pain, but that is rising air fare times how many?
BTW, congrats on your upcoming move!

Debbie

That sounds great to me! Just think, soon you will be a Florida resident and getting the Fl Ressie rates! Where will you be moving to? Just curious, I am in Tampa? And why are you moving, aside from the obvious???

Thanks Debbie. I am thinking of just flying there in May and June. I just can't see myself paying that kind of money. Isn't it a lot?! I thought maybe I can do what I need to do before the kids' school is out, so when July comes, all we need to do is move down there. Still debating if I should just wait until June.

Hi zalansky, we're moving to Orlando area. Tired of winter and IMO Michigan is boring. There's nothing much to do during winter. Even during summer there's nothing much going on that I enjoy. I visit Florida enough that I think the best thing to do is to move there. This will save me money if I was living there. I know there's tons to see and do in Florida. I have yet to see Ft. Lauderdale (SP??) and Miami. I would love to visit Palm Beach and Key West. I would love to venture out the whole state of Florida. I think Florida is a great state if you love the hot weather in the summer and don't mind the bugs and the hurricane and the thunderstorm.

I love Michigan for the simple fact that I grew up here and my whole family is here. I love Michigan cause I am next door to Canada and I can always visit Canada anytime I want to. But everytime my plane lands in MCO, I just feel like I'm "home."

Anymore suggestions or thoughts on this one?

well - soon you will get the fl resident rates....agter paying $49 in Feb for Pop I could never stomach paying much more~!~

I suggest waiting until you can get both cheaper airfare and hotel. I know waiting an extra month seems like a long time, and you want to get this process going, but it will come soon enough.

When my twins were 7, I moved to Orlando from Seattle after divorcing my first husband. I flew down in June, knew I had a job waiting for me by July, and packed up the kids and drove cross country in early August. Found a school and apartment in those first two weeks and got the kids enrolled in school by Aug 15.

It was a great place to be after a divorce- warm and sunny unlike the Pacific Northwest. But after a year, though I enjoyed it, it was time to bring the kids home to be close to family. Now I visit warm and sunny places frequent, such as Orlando.

What about offsite? A DTD hotel? Look on mousesavers. does she have any good deals for when you are going?

Well I am excited for you. You have a good plan...
I am from Long Island and when we used to visit Orlando when I was younger and I felt the same way, it felt like home to me. I ended up in Tampa 11 years ago and I love it. Though I have alot of family in NY still, I could never go back. Like you said, there is so much to do here. You can travel all over Florida and always feel like you are on a vacation. The Keys are great!
I wish you much happiness in your venture! Let us know how it progresses....
