1400 loop?

This will be our FIRST time at the Fort end of Oct/beg of Nov 2010 and we requested loop 1400 based on reading here, wanting to be near pool, campfire, Meadows, etc.

We have another trailer of family coming with us and we requested to be next to each other.

Wondering which sites we should request though?

Kim

If you are looking at 1400 loop I would recommend 1429 and 1431 which is very close to the campfire area or 1455 and 1456 which is in Little Bear. Those sites are good for camping with others and have served us well. We usually drive the loop and call to request new sites if the sites assigned do not work out to our liking.

Great advice, thanks !

We already do have our 2 reservations "linked" and have requested 1400. For my Mom who is the other party and sometimes has bad knees, I think being near a bus stop would be good. I know there is a general map that shows the loops, but is there a map that shows a specific loop and then the sites in that loop? Wow, what a tongue-twister !!

Thanks again, we are getting excited as the trip gets closer :o)

They have a binder of all the loops and sites that you can review upon arrival so you can try and get close to a bus stop.

Look up at the top of this page- there is a thread titled SITE MAPS in GoogleEarth. On that thread, you will find a link to a fantastic map of the entire campground, showing all of the loops as well as the location of each site on the loop, plus bus stops, comfort stations, etc.

Here's a screen shot of the 1400 loop portion of the map, to give you an idea what it looks like:

We stayed at site 1410 last month and loved it...great space, plenty of room close to pool, etc. Very quiet.

1459 seemed to have a lot of room in front of it. I would say 1459 and 1458. As everyone else has said though, everyone like dif. things. Hope you have a great time. :)

We stayed in 1439 this past February and LOVED it!! It was right beside the comfort station but had trees for privacy so you didn't see everyone walking there... It was extremely close to the campfire program and pool and yet still close enough to the front for the bus.... I'd recommend this one again!!
