14 y/o DS is 5'11"! How tall will he be?

My son is 13 and his feet has matched his age since he was 10... 10 years old size 10 shoe, all the way till now at 13 1/2 he wears a 13 1/2 shoe!!!

He's 5'6 now but the doctor says he has not hit his growth spurt yet. His Dad is 6 feet and so is his grandMOTHER! He has uncles and cousins that are 7 feet and taller. His Dad became ill with an intestinal problem in his teens and they think it stunted his growth so I don't know how tall he would've been, with a family like that!

Me, I'm a squirt at 4ft 11. I'm just glad my son's not a midget like me!!!

My daughter measured 6' tall when she turned 12 and had knee surgery when she was 16 and 6'2". He surgeon said she might grow another inch or two, and two years later she is just a shade under 6'3". She is very slender and athletic. I am so jealous!

My son is 6'3" and probably hasn't grown more than an inch or so since high school. Both of my kids are 4 inches taller than I am. Both were about 22" at birth.

As my mother used to say to my little brother, "you may be taller than I am, but you will never be BIGGER!"

OK, DS had a trip to the ER last night (bad crash on his bicycle, 5 staples in his scalp!) Now he's 6'!

I cannot keep this child full; he is hungry within an hour of having dinner. I cannot keep this child in shoes; he grows out of them before they are broken in! Now his voice is deeper than DH's!

OMG, when will it end! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My son is 10 years old and when we went for his last physical, the doctor said he is going to be well over 6'. Don't know how he knew this but I was surprised because no one is that tall in our family. Must be something in the water! ;)

We just went a couple weeks ago. My 14 1/2 yo was 5' 11.5 inches tall. The dr has assured me he will be between 6'3 and 6'5. He also clocks in at over 210. He will be 15 in december, and I have no idea how I am able to keep up with his eating.... lol

FWIW.

Everybody grows at a different rate. I don't think you can really predict. Has his voice dropped yet? Does he have facial hair yet. Those things would indicate that growth would start to slow soon (but not always). DW is 5'3" (but her dad and brothers are tall. I am 5'9" (or was at one point ;)). Our oldest is 24 and 5'11" and was about 5'5" at age 14. Our youngest son is 16 and 6' tall. He was about 5'9" at age 14.

His voice is quite deep, but even as a baby he was a baritone. No facial hair yet, but DH doesn't grow a heck of a lot either. I just wish I could keep his stomach full for more than an hour. He's as thin as a reed, but eats like a horse!

I just went to this site and it predicted both of my sons to be 6'2". I checked different ages/weights and it was consitently 6'2".

I used this site and if I used their current height/weight it said DD11 would be 5'6" and DS11 would be 6'0". I think that is pretty close for DS but DD I think will be taller, maybe an inch or two, who knows. They didn't have an option for a 14 year old so I put in DS14's 2 year old height and weight and it said he was going to be 3'6" when he was 18 :rotfl2: . Fortunately he is taller then that now, all of 4'10" so far.

DH was 5ft 6in when he graduated, but he's 6ft 4in now. DS #1 was about 5ft 10in when he was 15 and he's 6ft now. He wore a size 14 shoe then and we always thought he would be taller, but at 23 I am guessing he's past his growth spurt!

DS#2 is 15 and he's about 5ft 7in and wears a size 12 and he's hoping to get taller like his dad!!

Because I am only 5ft 1in, they blame me because they aren't as tall as their dad!

I gave up trying to figure out growth rates. I'm 5'4" , DH is 6'2". Oldest DS19 is 5'9", DS16 , aka Dangerboy, was 6"3 at last measure, and we've learned not to turn our backs on him when there are full plates of food involved  DD14, is all leg, and is just about my height. To the OP-it's amazing how much food boys this age can put away, isn't it!
