Hiya,

Has anyone visited DLRP for an extended period of time? We are looking at accomodation off-site that give you 14 nights for the price of 7 but is this too long??

I wouldn't want to spend 14 days at DLRP, but there's other stuff you can do after all. Go for it!

There is loads in the local area to do obviously but I think our boys are too young for wanting to look at Palaces etc and too young for Paris. I'm just concerned that 14 days would be too long and put us off slightly :(

Are you planning to do this in the Spring or early Summer, so you could get out and about and visit in nice weather? There may be some nice parks with boating lakes, paddling pools etc in the surrounding areas, you could drive to and have a few days out, away from DLP?

I'd love to spend 14 days near Disney. I think I'd only go into Disney for 5 days maximum. I'd spend another 4/5 days in Paris and the rest exploring the little towns nearby.

It's in planning for early September. I'd love a few days in Paris but is there anything there that's going to keep the attention of a 3 year old and a 1 year old?

Tbh i wouldnt spend 14days in france full stop!! Not a huge fan of the country. Been to paris a few times and i think its over-rated. There is some great museums but wouldnt do them with little ones.

Were planning on doing 5 nights in july and i think thats too much but due to daily flights been cut in our local airport our only choice is 3 or 5 nights. My cousin who is coming thinks 3 is not enough. So were comprmised 1 days is for shopping:rotfl:

Anyway unless there is alot to do in the surrounding aera then i prob wouldnt do more than a wk. Thats just me doe:)

France is a beautiful country and I think there is plenty to do in both DLP and the surrounding area. Go for it. :)

Even Versailles though could be done just done a little differently - ie half an hour inside but lots more time outside (presuming it isn't raining!).

I'm doing both Emma. WDW will cost around £775 each whereas DLRP is around £92!!

I think Cyrano has done a few long trips in the past. Perhaps he'll be along to tell you about it later.
My only worry would be that by September the nights will be closing in and will be dark much earlier. Also the Parks will close early.

personally i think i could do it. i love nothing more than taking my time at the parks. i have done it all already as have you so you know what to expect. with small kids i think its possible. i would look into other things to do in the area though to give them a break from disney if needed.

In September by 7pm the park is still light. I remember how much candleabration sucked in the light lol.

We've done two trips of 10 days and loved every minute of it (hopefully another one coming up this year as well).
My children are older but it just meant we could laze at the hotel and enjoy our surroundings more without feeling we were missing out on park time. Also meant we paced ourselves, saw (and did) things a couple of times over. We also spent a day in Paris and loved it!

We love France too and have had many a happy family holiday in the country as well as our many trips to Disneyland.

There's also Parc Asterix which I think would appeal to their age range, our two loved it, if you have Tesco vouchers you can get tickets with them.

We had one of our summer holidays at la Croix du vieux pont
and only had two days at Disney, we managed to fill two weeks easily but the weather was very kind to us which helps.

Thanks for all the input. We are looking at Le Chene Gris, as most of you know that's where we nearly always stay. I've been looking at Parc Asterix but I remember davewasballoo saying it was a little old for his kiddies when they went. I'll have a word with him about it. Two weeks for €175 is almost too good to pass up on really :)

14 nights/15 days is the longest DLP we have ever done and DW declared it the best yet. Most other trips have been 10 nights.
With summer opening we really had the best time ever.
You will get the best out of Salon Mickey.
Get strange looks when peeps are streaming out of the parks early evening with their kids in melt down. While you go into the park at 8.00pm for the first time in the day :goodvibes

We stayed at DCR so had the benefit of space, lots of things to do, a great pool and not to far to travel to the parks when we wanted a Disney fix

I concur! We did a week at the Davy Crockett, and could have quite easily stayed on for another!! :goodvibes
Personally, I would want to have a swimming pool at my accommodation if I was staying for 2 weeks (Not sure if the place you are going to has one?), but with two young un's that might be more stress than its worth for you anyway!
The way I look at it, is it would be nice to go anywhere for 2 weeks of relaxation and a change of scene. The fact that you have two of the best theme parks in the world on your doorstep to pick and choose from is just an amazing bonus! The thing to remember also is that you would only pay for travelling costs once, whereas doing two 7 day trips would be twice as much etc.
DO IT! :thumbsup2

Remember Salon Mickey has a limit on how many times you can visit in a month - is it 5?
