We just booked at last minute trip for the begining of October. We went in March and didn't take our daughter but this time she would be 14 months old and would probably enjoy it more. Plus I'd love to see her with Mickey and everything.

My husband and I love the thrill rides, and he doesn't think it would be any fun switching off. It would just be dh and me.

Also will it at least be some what cooler by then?

If anybody has experience with this, I'd love some insight.

Sorry about rambling. This is just last minute and we have to decide if she's going to go or not so we can make arrangements for her. She's such a good baby and I'd hate not to take her. I know she'd have fun but I don't know if we will. Thanks everyone.

Well.....I guess it depends on what you want out of the trip. We took our DD when she was 13 months old and we all had an absolute blast. But we looked at it as a family vacation. Personally - for me anyway - since I work full-time when I take vacation time I don't want to spend it away from DD. However - if you guys just want a week to reconnect then don't take her. I'm just of the mindset that we are a family and we take family vacations - not to say that DH and I haven't taken a weekend here or there - but a week long vacation would be hard for me to leave DD. But it truly is a personal choice.

However as far as the question of whether she will have fun or not - My DD really enjoyed the experience. We took advantage of going while she was still free several times :rotfl:

Oh...and DH never baby-swapped at all that first trip. Actually we only baby-swapped maybe a handful of times out of 5 trips - and I have taken her twice with a friend and her DD and we never baby-swapped on those two trips. There is just so much you can do as a family. (And I do LOVE the big rides)

We have taken our 2 boys at a vaiety of 4 months, 18 months, 2 and 4 and it has been a blast every time. The cool thing is that each experience is so different. Riding alone isn't that bad, but we found the most fun was experiencing the park through their eyes at different ages. We are headed back next week and can't wait to see how our 2 year old interacts with things this time around.

Adjust your expectations and have a ball!!!

We are going at the same time with our 16 month. I say go for it! It's obviously going to be a different type of vacation then if she didn't go, but it will still be fun. I can't imagine going without him.

You'll have a great time. I agree with your husband. It's not fun to do the baby swap and ride by yourself. You'll have plenty to do without needing to take turns riding. We actually started using the baby swap when we had two kids. That way we could swap and ride with our oldest while the other waited with the baby. Our oldest child loved it. She got to ride all the thrill rides twice!

October is the perfect time to go. It's still warm, but not miserably hot. The pools are still enjoyable in October. I think you are going to be surprised at how much fun you will be able to have with her.
