13 Villains confirmed for Villains Land!

13 Villains have been confirmed for the new Villains Land! This is the expansion I'm looking forward to the most, and I'm so excited they've confirmed the Wicked Queen in Disguise, Maleficent in human AND dragon form and Chernabog!!

We’re going to WDW next week and the very first 2 things we are doing:

MK Railroad and the Liberty Sq Riverboat.

I’m excited for the expansion but boy are we going to miss the river

So confirmed they're getting rid of the boat? Ugh, I love the boat and the river.
If a Cars area is going in its place, how will BTMR fit in? Or is that going too?

I am BESIDE myself for Yzma to be on the list. Emperor's New Groove is SO underrated and underutilized.

I was really surprised to see her too...my daughter is so excited she was included!

I'm not excited for Cars Land....I'd prefer they keep the river and build Villains Land behind.

This might be a silly question, but why add cars to Magic kingdom?? I feel like MK already has some of the strongest attractions and theming, while some of the other parks are smaller or underdeveloped in comparison. Villains makes sense to me, but Cars feels like it would have been better in Epcot or Hollywood Studios. I dunno...

I think for a few reasons ...

(1) I've said this before here but knowing some MK CMs in the past ... there has always been rumblings that Frontierland had no purpose and either needed to go or find a way for relevance. Guests use it as a walk way to get from Liberty Square over to Splash & BTMR. It's only use was as a corridor. I think the reason they chose Cars and the off road dirt trail style was a blending of Frontierland into the area.

(2) It really only makes sense at Studios (Epcot has test track) and I think there are already multiple plans going there. We have two new shows, we know Muppets is moving to RNR, we are getting the Monster's Inc Land and my gut tells me there is a plan for the "Echo Lake" area but it won't fully come to fruition until some kinks are worked out. I still think there is a conversation on Launch Bay, Playhouse Disney and maybe some backstage area.

(3) Back to location. Tom Sawyer Island is VALUABLE real estate that is barely used when open and only open part time. It's capacity is low and adding a Carsland will greatly increase the capacity of that area. The Riverboat is old and I imagine has substantial maintenance to keep it moving and again, low capacity, part time day making the river itself low capacity. Villains will also need to sit where it is going because it needs to be the illusion of set away from MK, in its own world. Filling in the river not only gives you the space to get there but the addition of a land to buffer it.

I am fine with all that going away because the gains will be huge, but I'd like the Riverboat saved and I have my own ideas what it should be ...

Okay I had zero interest in Villains Land before but I'm curious what they'll do with Yzma.

Yes, the river and Tom Sawyer Island will be no more. There will be a bit of a landscaping berm to separate the area from Frontierland. Big Thunder isn't leaving. The two new lands will cover all the River and Tom Sawyer space and some more behind that space.

The attention to detail & theming of the DL Cars Land is pretty impressive IMO. Let's hope this one is as well so it makes the loss easier to accept.

I feel like they will go all out. Epic universe has thrown down the gauntlet from what I understand.
