13 new tenants for Disney springs announced

The restaurants look great but I'm uneasy about the stores. It's all so mall-ish.
I agree, UGG, pandora. All very local mallish. I'm sure that's what they want town center to be tho the mall. The landing dining and entertainment. West side basically the same.

Ok...I'm actually gonna say this is a step in the right direction...

But I am a Patron of tommy bahama and lily Pulitzer (size xl-xt)...so that makes me not completely unbiased.

At least these aren't in EVERY mall...

But ugg?...nothing says 95 with 90% humidity liked fur lined boots.

You gotta wonder though...with the premium outlets literally 1.5 miles away...what's the market?

Airlines charge out the wazoo for bags - so not like Americans are gonna buy in bulk and take home..

The Brits/brazes like to shop...but typically to get deals...not sure retail or hyper retail is gonna fly...

And I don't see the locals down with this...

They better start putting in alot of bars...so the "sailors on shore leave" approach takes effect.

Sprinkles will be mobbed though...they always are. I'd rather wait in line in Orlando than midtown manhattan... For sure

What the wait on the announcement of the American girl store?

Agreed-- maybe I'm being optimistic, but with Edison and the Hangar, it seems to be looking up. Maybe the Landings will save the day....

I wonder if Disney would consider a deal with ups or FedEx to offer a flat rate "shipping center". Where you pay $15 or so to parcel tbr stuff back home?

I know from a relative (at fedex) that often with online retailer (guess who) that they will cut the rate down to neutral for volume and exposure...

If they are correct and they are "doubling" everything...they would be beyond "stuff it" and "Disney bags on the plane"

I was thinking the same thing thing recently at St Armand's square on Lido Key...wouldn't have minded dropping some cash...but just didnt want to bother to haul it.

I think I might take the idea to Iger at anaheim or whatever stock symposium he's giving a vague speech about "ambitious plans" today...
I think a 10% perpetual commission is more than fair...

Gas up the G6, Francois....

I was thinking of this very thing just yesterday.

At Comic-Con FedEx has a booth where one can drop off their boxed up purchases and have them shipped home. I should have taken a picture because the stack of boxes looked like Wall-E had been at work.

Most of those stores aren't in malls near me and I live in a relatively sizable area near the capitol of PA. This place is going to be huge and will have both specialty stores (Can't wait for the hat store!!) and some stores one could find in a mall. People love to shop. People love to shop lots on vacation. That plus the fun, good eating, and excellent theming is going to make this place rock. People are going to crowd into the place and throw money at the retailers and Disney.

Not much going on near 3 mile island, my friend...

And king of Prussia is about an hour 15 from you... If you have the wind at your back ;)

They almost have to do this...

There's a definite, simple "need" to fill...

And it would increase profits all the way around... Even if the vendors had to "subsidize" it.

But it would have to be streamlined and efficient...not
Like trying to get something shipped home at WOD by somebody who works 1 shift a month

I am not so excited about the shops.

More excited about the restaurants. Edison sounds neat but I wonder about pricing. Also the cupcake shop sound good

Didn't they take the building down though? I honestly don't know how they could "build around" much over there…

What - if any - of the the PI buildings still remain?

The adventurers club building still remains - they've covered the sign and surrounded it with planters, but its still there. BET Soundstage is still there as well apparently.

Plus the 8TRAX and Mannequins buildings are kind of still there but now heavily transformed.

Haha! I was 19 and working at an RV place a few miles from 3 Mile when that all went down. I still glow enough I don't need a nightlight. :) Yes, KOP is a real mall, actually Lancaster is bad either, but who wants to drive that far? Now when I'm at Disney... :)

The point is those things are mall tenants…they're just upscale mall tenants. The regular local malls are dying and could go away entirely in another 10 years…

Mall at Millennia has most of those stores - i do believe...

Around :) its been a few years since we've been to WDW - with so little new there, and a lot of the old good stuff gone its just not been worth the cost, so not really had much to say on stuff here. Been to DLR last year and going to DLP this year just to get our fix on Disney though :)

The Tommy Bahama store could be interesting if there were some Disney Hawaiian shirts, but I'm not sure what things look like on that end with Reyn Spooner and the Pixar shirts.

I both completely understand and you're completely depressing me…

Enjoy Paris. My favorite city on earth (not that i've been to them all) and i love Euro…its been 10 years and the studios was an absolute joke…but i still loved it. And we hadn't intended on going…but decided to "give in" anyway.
