12yo wanting a kids meal at sit down

Last year during Free Dining, we encountered issues with my DD ordering off the children's menu. She turned 10 while we were there, so we just paid the difference for her to go to the adult status, but there were some days that she just wasn't hungry or didn't like the options so we'd always ask if it would be ok for her to get a kids menu item. Most places we ate at were ok with it, but we did run into some that were less than accomodating, they were: Tutto Italia (but in their defense, as soon as I spoke to the Mgr. it was ok, only the server was telling us No), LTT, 50's PT was a bit difficult too, so we just shared a plate and ordered an extra dessert and saved a TS.

I'm just curious as to how they charged you since there isn't an adult chicken tender meal on the menu? Did they tell you before they brought the bill?

She asked if she could order the chicken tenders- and the waitress said "Yes but I have to charge for an adult portion" to us. Honestly I can't recall exactly how much it was but it was about twice as much as the kids meal maybe??

She ordered off the children's menu at Sci-Fi, San Angel, Coral Reef, LeCellier and Tony's. The only place I had a problem with was Tony's. The hostess had no problem giving us a children's menu but the waitress had a big attitude from the minute she came to the table and asked how old my daughter was. She said 10 year old children are adults and that "just this one time" she would allow her to order a child's entree but I would have to pay for an adult drink and that she knew it wouldn't be enough food for my daughter. I could go on and on about this waitress and her attitude but bottom line is that she was the only resistant one I had out of 8 days. Oh, and the portion at Tony's was too big for my daughter even with the child size.
