...

I loved the painting. So beautiful. You are a great supportive mother and have a wonderful family. I loved reading this trip report.

Wow! That is so fantastic and how special--you could see it all over her face, the giddiness of excitement!
(Saw the Ireland Barbie behind her in the last photo. I have the same one, but she's out of her box and stands with my porcelian dolls :) )

Michelle,

That is a beautiful graduation gift! Woohoo for your daughter - I'm sure you are very proud of her :)

My youngest DD starts highschool this year and boy that sure makes me feel old.

I'm glad I didn't have to wait until the end of the TR to see the surprise.

Yep! You didn't know that? You can even make one of those 2-sided Sith lightsabers for $24.95. They give you a pin, too. Does Leo like Star Wars? I can see him protecting the Universe! :yoda:

Need I say more?! :rotfl: Thanks for the info. - I know where we're heading next trip! :thumbsup2

WOW, what a beautiful painting! I understand your DD's choice. I, too, had planned a career in art all through high school, but realized I wanted to do my thing, not what someone else told me to design/draw/photograph/etc. But, after 15 years in retail, finance and marketing, I'm back in school working on my BA in Art History with the hope of making a career change down the road. If she can possibly work a double major or at least a secondary concentration in the Arts, the MBA will set her up well for a career in the art world and still allow her to do her own thing on the side. Just a thought to pass your way!

I absolutely love that painting. I comment on it to my DH everytime we are down there. Just too expensive right now. I am jealous. Cannot wait to read more.

Beautiful painting michelle, your daughter is a lucky girl to have such wonderful parents!! And I know you are lucky to have her as well!
It is amazing how fast they grow up. Blink your eyes and they are all
grown up!! I hope your kids will continue to have a passion for disney
so even when they are adults you can and will still enjoy trips to WDW.
We had many with our boys and still had wonderful trips. As soon as we
catch some pixie dust we will make even more wonderful mouse memories!!

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
Indeed it is...and even more so is that smile on the her face at it's arrival! What a sweet moment! I bet you are glad you took pictures!! :):):)

That is my favorite Disney movie...I love Beast. He would be my prince of choice. ;) And if I had to be a princess I would SO want to be Belle (heck if I could be...what's with me and that had to be stuff).

I was in high school when Beauty and the Beast came out and I watched it over and over and over again. Oh to be Belle! *swoon*

I am so happy for Jordan!! What a special gift she will cherish for always!!

And about the art...think of it this way...she hasn't "given it up". She has simply chosen a path so that she is her own benefactor and she will work at a day job in order to pay her for her own creative endeavors!! She will be totally free of anyone else yoking her and what she loses in the sheer number of hours she will have available to pour into her art she will more then gain in freedom. Many a serious artist or writer once had a "day job". She could be destined to begin that way as well.

What about a career that would allow her to work in the art world but yet be able to do so without having to create for hire? Curator? Restoration work? The business end of things at an auction house or museum? Art historian? Art professor? I don't know...maybe she can meld what she loves into a viable career option...that way she can use her own "off" time to do her creating but still allow herself to be immersed in art at her day job as well.

Last (and I promise then I will be done going so far OT) has she looked into double majoring? Or at least minoring in art? OR...short of that, just load up on the art classes...a degree is valuable but for pursuing her passion, she would gain so much from just soaking in the knowledge and exploring new techniques. I double majored in Biology and History because I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do...then I went on and got two totally "at odds" masters degrees as well (Ecology and American Literature). SO...picking one doesn't necessarily mean having to give up the other. GOOD LUCK TO JORDAN! :grouphug:

Thank you! I'm so glad that you are here!

We really liked that statue of Jack! I saw it online before we left home, and I made sure to find it in the case when we got to WDW. I was close to buying it too, if it weren't for the painting. Jordan already has several Jack figures and a framed pin collection of all of his different faces/expressions. How big is your collection? I wouldn't wait too long to get the new figure if you really want it! You deserve it! :thumbsup2

-Michelle

I'm trying to hold off on my collecting . I have a few choice pins and a few Sports Jerseys that are signed (and I still wear).

Everything we have is in Tara's Tink Room in my Sig. I just have to put her Framed pin set we got for spending toooo much at WoD and a few other odds and ends.

hey Michelle! I just caught up with the gift reveal! That picture is GORGEOUS! :thumbsup2 She must love it! I love that movie! It makes me sad because I have been searching for my Beauty and the Beast movie for the past 2 months and cant find it. Its the only one I WANT to watch before I go away. Oh well! :rotfl: Anyways! I totally know what Jordan is going through. I have always wanted to be an Interior Designer and took 3 courses on it in school and have worked with it throughout my whole high school career. However, I feel that there is only money in it if you move to somewhere such as New York or California. It is also a highly stressful career, so I have given up that dream and decided to just make my OWN HOUSE beautiful! Its sad though, it really is a passion. Im glad that Jordan will still be doing her art on the side because she will be able to have a good balance.

3 DAYS! :goodvibes

I'm late to the party, as usual!!! But I'm finally here!! I followed you from jaycns pre-trippie. (Hi, Jay!) Isn't she a sweetie?

I read your Halloween TR & finally got caught up on this one. WOW!!! The whole thing is very exciting! I notice your children always have their arms around each other in pictures. I wonder if mine will ever get to that point?? :confused3 I totally loved the "Happy on Demand" photo & description. Who can't relate to that? "You WILL smile!" :upsidedow Loving the whole report. Now that I'm caught up, you can continue!
Barb

What a beautiful gift!!!! She is an extremely bright and mature girl. Most young adults at that age don't have half the thought process that it took for Jordan to realize that taking a different career path and having her dream on her terms. She will be brilliant in whatever she does. And you and DH are lucky to have raised such a smart young lady. I am so happy we got to see the gift reveal. Her face when she is about to see it is priceless!

Where exactly is the scrapbook store located at? I have to get to that store on our next trip. And we already have Wolfgang Puck Express as our restaurant of choice for dinner our first night. LOVE IT!

I absolutely love your report so far and look forward to seeing each installment.

It's the first store on your right as you come from the MarketPlace bus stops. Across from the X-mas shop and next to the Art Of Disney.

Hi Michelle! I am catching up on your Trippie! :yay:

The Beauty and the Beast painting is gorgeous! I actually saw one a lot like it this past week at the Contemporary, but it was the Beast behind Belle holding her, but the colors are a lot alike. I'm sure it is most likely by the sam artist. I stopped when I saw it because it was such a breath-taking painting! :goodvibes

Just saw the post with the Beauty and the Beast picture. What a nice gift. Great trip report esp love the photos.
