..................................

If you are afraid of an accident..stop by. I have a new box of small adult diapers in the trunk, that were given to me to pass on. Anything to get to Disney! We won't tell anyone..and no one will be able to tell anyway! Once you get there, the stress level should go down, and you may be fine.

You can call SW and get your name off, up until the flight leaves. You might be able to join them a day or two later..but I hope it doesn't come to that.

Yes, you can change the ADR names..and if you do go, just show up with your sister..they are much better about adding a person at the restaurant than on the phone.

Room cancel depends on what type of reservation. Disney is really good about giving you credit for another time though, so you won't lose any money.

I don't have any advice, but I hope it gets resolved and you can go!

I was also going to suggest Imodium. And actually, a consistant 'morning' problem may be easier to deal with. Just get up earlier! And don't eat anything. Nothing in, nothing out!

You have to go.

Try getting the yogurt with the picture of a belly on it. I don't remember which one it is. I used it when I had food poisoning and it really helped quickly. All I can remember is it had a belly on it and says something about helping the digestive system. My coworker used it too and it worked for her. I wouldn't miss the trip. I would just get some diaper type item for the plane just in case.
Go and have fun!

This will sound stupid, but it worked for my mom after she had most of her colon removed, and was having issues. Make really watery rice, and cook for a good long time. Then drink the water you drain from it. It worked better than the BRAT did for her.

Mark my words....eat a ton of blueberries!! It works every time for me. Last June I was in the hospital two days before my WDW trip with horrible diarrhea. I was all set not to go, either, for fear of "accidents" but I started eating blueberries (plain) and nothing else and no diarrhea.

I went to WDW and had a great time. I just was very very careful what I ate, tho, while I was there.

Good luck, C.Ann. :)

I took the Cipro this morning - only my 3rd dose - but now that I know there's no infection, I'm going to stop taking it unless the doctor advises otherwise..

The main problem is that it's 90% only morning diarrhea - several hours - and that will be a real problem Saturday morning for our flight.. I took 2 of the Imodium Advanced this morning.. Wish the doctor would call soon so I know what I'm doing here..

The Cipro will ABSOLUTELY cause diarrhea. You need to be taking an acidophilus supplement any time you are taking antibiotics. Antibiotics don't know the difference between "good" and "bad" bacteria, they kill them all. This is what causes diarrhea when you are on antibiotics.

You can take a supplement or eat yogurt with active cultures.

Fingers crossed that you can visit the mouse!

C. Ann--

I had a parasite once and for 2.5 months I walked around with diarrhea. Lost 25 lbs. Nothing ever showed up on tests. Finally a GI doctor gave me a prescription for Flagyl and it worked like a charm. He assumes that I had giardia (which is hard to pick up on tests).

The odd thing about yours, though, is that it is "morning only" diarrhea which is highly suggestive of IBS. When I had the giardia, I had diarrhea after each meal. Lucky for me, it wasn't cramping diarrhea, but it was diarrhea nevertheless.

One of the "hallmarks" of IBS is morning diarrhea, although many IBS sufferers can have it all day. I have a mild form of IBS and it always hits me in the morning.

On my last trip to WDW, by the last day of my trip my IBS was in full-swing because of all my dining out. That last day at Epcot was tough because I spent most of the morning in the public restrooms and didn't feel comfortable enough to ride Soarin'. By 11:30 though, I was fine.

The next morning I woke up (the day we were checking out) and could NOT get myself out of the bathroom for the cramps and diarrhea. I was seriously panicking about the plane ride. Fortunately my dad had some Immodium Advanced. While I was uncomfortable, it kept me out of the bathroom.

I sure hope you figure this out soon. Since it came on so suddenly, I would be highly suspicious of a parasite infection.

Also - to whoever mentioned the parasites and the Flagyl - what did you mean by it's "nasty wasty" stuff? Is it a sulpha drug? If so, I can't take it because I'm allegric to sulfa drugs..

That was me,C.Ann. What I meant was it tastes awful. The most bitter stuff I've ever tasted. It's not a sulfa, is metronidazole. here's a link that might help you http://www.medicinenet.com/metronidazole/article.htm

I'm so sorry you are going through this. What a miserable time for it to flare up. I have IBS and it is always worse in the mornings. In WDW, it was a scary time to have IBS-on the plane early in the morning, driving to the parks early in the morning etc.

I really hope you get it resolved. I found some stuff OTC that I was taking until I could get to the doctor, but it gave me the "opposite" problem. I got it at Walmart and it just says Irritable Bowel Syndrome on the box. It was in the pharmacy next to the Lactaid.

My "trigger" foods seem to be tomatoes, vegetables, wine and sausage. Maybe keep a journal of the foods you eat to see what could be triggering it? I sometimes go to the health food store and get a cleansing type supplement or a parasite remover. Not all parasites show up on tests. Might be worth a shot. Good luck and I really hope you get to go. I feel your anxiety!!

Aww I'm so sorry, doesn't sound like alot of fun. I hope everything works out for you.

My foster kittens have giardia as we speak. They are on Albon, a sulfa drug..their second go around. The sample was floated, and there it was. Hmmm...maybe you should bring a sample over to my friend who tests our cats..she's very successful in finding it.
I've got some rice and chicken mixture in the fridge that I feed them when it gets really bad, if you want to try that :(

Your water up at the lake is well water, right? When was it last tested? How about at the new house?

I don't know if this will be help0ful or not, but have you thought about going and just doing the BRAT diet for a few days to help with the diarea?
Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast

This diet really works and maybe you won't have to cancel the trip.

Talked to the doctor - she wants me to see a gastro specialist when I "get back".. That doesn't help me much now.. :sad2:

She said the blood work was fine - continue with the Cipro and Pedialyte - and I can take Imodium AD until I get back.. :confused3 Ummm..that's what I've been doing..

She said she would call in the Flagyl - after I mentioned that parasite and the med.. She told me to be prepared to "get very sick to my stomach - in addition to the diarrhea"..

I'm about to throw in the towel.. :(

Be sure not drink alcohol with the flagyl; that will make you sick. ds#1 takes cipro and flagyl for his crohn's related issues on occasion and he does well with it. good luck!

Checking in to see how you are feeling this morning and hoping to hear that you will be making the trip

C.Ann I totally feel for you-I get stomach issues that make me crazy...I hope this all works out for you.

Hi C.Ann, I have been following your plight and I totally feel for you...I can't imagine going, no matter where it is, when you are feeling like this. That being said...I am sending lots of pixie dust :wizard: your way in hopes that you will feel better and get to go away with your family. Feel better. :goodvibes

C. Ann,

For what it's worth, I am *VERY* sensitive to meds (especially antibiotic-type stuff). I think we've even discussed it before. I had no problems with the Flagyl and I was scared to death when I took it. I get queasy pretty easy and I had no problems with this. I think I was just so tired of the diarrhea that nothing could have been worse than that.

I'm glad your MD is willing to at least try the Flagyl, seeing as how nothing else is working :confused3 Christian took it and had to trouble. It tastes terrible, but it didn't make him sick and it cured the diarrhea. I hope it cures yours :thumbsup2
