Well I walked out side this AM and it is

COLD!!!!!!
If it were me I would say see ya to the Lake
Hug the family say see ya on Dec 2 and head on out

I drove home from Fla one Feb
once we hit NY the roads were awful
i would avoid bad weather if I could

besides did I mention IT it COLD here and only gonna get COLDER
while in FlA it is WARM

Go now. The weather is good for all your driving. You can take your time, as there's no rush. Your dsil won't feel rushed to get all the work done. You'll be able to spend Thanksgiving in Fla. with your sister and friends, in nice weather.I can't think of any reason for you not to go now. Start packing.....

Sounds like your sis has come up with a good plan and would enjoy your company! No rush, you just need some time to absorb it all.

Yes, of course you will miss your family, but sounds like they have their work cut out for them with the new place. TG is covered - DD is working and SIL is busy remodeling and has TG dinner covered. Why not go to Fla earlier to be w/your sis and enjoy her company, friends, and soak up some sunshine!!

Remember lady, we only go around once and you are 'foot loose and fancy free' and a change of pace may do a world of good! Some of my spur of the moment trips have been the best !! So take some time to think, w/o pressure, decide what's best for you and do what you want to do in your heart of hearts .

Then it's WDW in Dec with your family making special memories!!

I think the new plan works. It's much better to drive now than wait to drive in late December, too much chance of snow.

I assume you are driving down through NJ? I am about 10 minutes away from 295 or the Turnpike. Let me know what time, I'll be standing on the side of the road with my suitcase. I'll keep you company on the long drive.

I think your sister's plan makes a lot of sense. The only downside I can see is that you'd be without a car for a while. Would you have access to one if you needed it?

The absolute BIGGEST downside is being away from my DGD that much.. Do you think it would be okay if I kidnapped her and took her along??? I hear that home schooling is becoming quite popular.........................

So THAT'S what's nagging at you.... How lovely to have these choices! My head says you should hop in the car and enjoy a leisurely trip down to Florida, where the weather could not possibly be more beautiful (fall and spring, my favorite times of year!). But you may need to listen to your heart, I dunno!
