But THAT is part of the responsibility bug. When you were a wife and mother (to young children) you never thought of doing something just for yourself (my mother was the same way). And now that you don't have thoes responsibilities anymore you have to learn to break free and do just for you.

I'm just not used to spending money on myself - or doing things strictly for myself.

My husband and daughter will be going down Halloween weekend for Food and Wine. We as a family will be returning for Thanksgiving weekend for a week long annual family vacation.

None of what you told me sounds odd.
