Day 7-- Wed 11/5
Today was our final day going to a Disney park-- that is always a bitter sweet day. We were headed to MK. We only touched on what we wanted to do at MNSSHP.
There were lots of characters out when we entered. I was pretty excited because Daisy Duck was out. We had never seen her out before-- so we headed right for her line. We then also got Gheppetto (sp?). Another new one for us. After that the characters were taking a 5min break so we headed for the rides. We started the day off w/ tomorrowland. We did Buzz & the Transit authority. We walked on to both which was a great way to start the day. We then headed for Toontown. I really wanted everyone to see Mickey & Minnie's house. It was too busy during the party. Toontown was pretty much deserted. In the judge's tent we walked right into 2 different character rooms. We had no waits. We then decided to go catch Cinderella's Suprise. I love this show. Lunch was at Cosmic Rays-- once again no lines to order and it was almost noon. This had to be the lightest crowd I had ever seen at MK--- and I was really worried do to NJ week.
After lunch we did Mickey's Philharmagic. It was incredible-- the best 3-D yet. It was the only wait we had all day. And it was only 15 minutes. We walked right onto Snow White & the Liberty Boat Cruise afterwards. It kept sprinkling on and off all day, but up to this point it never developed into anything more. A CM came up to my neice's stroller and told my neice she had been looking for her all day-- and then gave her a free balloon. My neice was squealing!! She was truly delighted-- there was our pixie dust for the day!!
We arrived 45 minutes early to get our parade spots. Don't you know that at 2:55pm-- the skies open up and it begins downpouring from nowhere. We were unprepared. By the time we got out the umbrella's and poncho's we were soaked. I was in such shock I continued to sit on the street curb w/ my poncho on--- I didn't realize the water was creating a river that was running right through me-- my shorts were SOAKED. DS wrapped himself up completely in his poncho-- and sat against a garbage can-- he looked like a bag of trash. They kept making announcements about the parade being delayed. Finally 40 minutes later they finally cancelled the parade. It was still downpouring. Oddly enough-- we were kind of having fun in our ponchos playing in the rain. Everyone else was hiding out in buildings. My group of 12 made their way to splash Mtn. in the downpour. We splashed the entire way!! The 7 of us that wanted to do it--- walked right on-- the rest went to wait at the exit. When we came down the big hill-- I was getting drenched-- but it was from the driving rain!! My cuz's DD (5)-- was alittle nervous. When we went down the little hill-- BIL told her she had to put her hands/arms up because it was more fun that way. He told her that was the biggest hill (knowing full darn well it wasn't). So we go down the next little drop-- her arms were up-- and she thought it was great. Then we lock into place for the big hill--- her arms go up-- thinking it's just another small drop. I couldn't see her face, I could only hear her-- I would of loved to see the look though!!
BIL got a severe tongue lashing from a 5yr old after that! When our log reached the exit, there wasn't a single person waiting to get on. They offered to let us just keep going-- but we knew our non-riders were waiting to go-- so we decided to exit our logs-- very, very slowly!!!
We went home-- and began another round of Uno. Which went much later than it should of. The "boys" in our group (DH, BIL, Dad and Unlce) had bought 2 cases of beer when we arrived. They hadn't touched it. At $18.00 a case they needed to get it gone we only had 1 full day left. They were too busy drinking hurricanes. So their goal that night was to put a dent into their stockpile. Needless to say they left 1 entire unopened case for the cleaning people. I'm thinking the cleaning people really liked us-- or hated us. We left 2 cases of unopened Pepsi, the case of unopened beer-- quite a few cans of soup-- and sealed unopened bottled water, unopened cereal-- quite a bit of stuff. We really didn't know what to do with it. It seemed such a waste to throw it all out. It hadn't been opened. There was close to $100.00 in unopened groceries. So we left anything that was still newly sealed in the pantry. As is was we threw out a lot of partially used things. We went alittle overboard at the grocery store. A word to the wise-- buy as you go.
