Can anyone explain the process to me? I see that if you are a resident you can put your tickets on a 12 month payment plan? Has anyone done this? It doesnt look like a financing plan like a credit card has but do they run your credit? I have not been a California resident since i was young but i still have family out there so i was debating getting a CA ID (i have the 3 pieces of documents they ask for) and putting them on a payment plan to save upfront cost. Because I would like to get us APs since we will be there 10 days. Does anyone think this is sleazy? Does anyone think its possible? Thanks

P.S sorry for so many threads tonight. But you guys are soooo helpful.

If you are not a CA resident, you do not qualify for any type of CA resident annual pass.
You'll need to purchase a Deluxe Annual Pass.
It's best to go with the appropriate annual pass you truly qualify for.

I've purchased on a payment plan. You put down the cost of a ticket for a day in addition to your first payment upon purchase. Then you pay every month for the year. It's quite easy, but financially not always the best option if you will only be taking one trip. If I remember correctly, you stated in another thread that you were planning on going to places other than Disneyland during your trip. So, a 5-day ticket is around $320-$370 depending on if you get a hopper or not. The so cal AP is $370-ish and the deluxe, which you'd need to go on a weekend, is $730. To make a so cal worth it, you'd need to go for at least 5 days of the 10 and the maximum you'll get is 8 days as it's blocked on the weekends. To make deluxe worth it, you'd need to go every day or at least 9/10 days.

You will need to have your CA ID when you pick up your APs at the ticket booth as they will check all of your personal information. In my experience, all adults had to produce an ID. I'm not sure if that was to check residency or just for the personal information, but if you're not a CA resident and you try to purchase the lower passes like the so cal level, you'll need proof for every adult in your party.

We would not only go more than 5 days if I got the AP but we would 100% go once more in feb and hopefully again before next Oct.
I have no experience with California DMVs so I dont know if I would get the ID that day or have to wait for it to be mailed. I also can only imagine how long it takes for a trip to the DMV in such a busy area to be completed.

You'd only get a temporary id at the DMV. Photo ID comes a few weeks later.

Can you use a debit card or MUST it be a credit card?
Disney will ask you the zip code of your billing address for your card. If you're not a CA resident this will be a red flag.

Does anyone think this is sleazy? Does anyone think its possible?
You asked in your OP...
Here's my answer - It's basically fraud.

The DIS does not sanction trying to get around the rules Disneyland has in place. This thread is closed.
