I was wondering if there is enough time if one chose the 12 mile regatta excursion for shopping and sight seeing around the island after the excursion. The description on the Disney site states that the excursion is 3 hours and that the excursion begins at 8:15. What time would one need to be back at the ship?

Does anyone have any opinions on this particular excursion?

Thank you!

First off, Welcome to the Dis boards!

My FIL did this last year and is doing it again in 1 week and 1 day. He was back on the ship for lunch and needless to say, he loved it. When he came back from it he claimed that if it rained the rest of the week it would still be the best trip ever. This year he says they are going to win!

After he came back we spent the afternoon at Great Bay Beach so there is plenty of time to shop etc.

We did it in 2001 and had enough time after the regatta to grab a burger, the take a cab to the French side, where we spent about 3 hours at Oriental Bay. Then we took the cab back to the Dutch side, shopped for an hour or so, walked back to the ship (About 45 minutes) and had enough time for showering, changing and getting to the early show.
BTW, the cab wa $20 & tip for each trip for four persons, two lounges and an umbrella cost $10 and beverages were about 3/-4 bucks.
And the regatta is worth every dime!!!
