12 Days of Disney = 1 Happy Family! June 2011 TR (Update x2 7/19)

**I have pictures of the DIS Meet, but Photobucket isn't working right now. I'll add them when Photobucket can learn to cooperate.
When I last left off, I had just finished a delicious pretzel from Germany! Where to next? Well, Mom, my sisters, Uncle R, Aunt C and K were going to keep walking around World Showcase, but Dad and I were headed for my very first DIS Meet!! I’ll admit, I was pretty nervous for the DIS Meet. It did not help that the walk from Germany to the monorail is sooooo long! We got on the mostly empty monorail. After a short ride to the TTC, we switched to the Magic Kingdom monorail. Before I knew it, we were pulling up to the Magic Kingdom! At this point, I was texting Christy, letting her know we were arriving. Dad and I walked down Main Street pretty quickly; we didn’t want to keep them waiting. There were butterflies in my stomach, but I just kept walking towards our DIS Meet location: It’s a Small World! About the time we reached the castle, she texted me and said they were waiting by the garbage can outside of the entrance of It’s a Small World. We rounded the corner and it only took us a second to locate them! Christy’s brother’s bright blue hair is easy to spot in a crowd! Even walking up to say hi to Christy and her family, I was nervous, but as soon as we started talking, all nervousness went away! I don’t know if it felt that way to her, but to me it felt like we’d known each other for a while already. That’s not really a good explanation….I don’t know…It’s just hard to explain! Anyway, the line for IASW was very long! Outside of the awning! We just got in line though, because the loading goes pretty fast. In the end, the wait was about 25-30 minutes. We spent the whole time chatting and telling each other how our trips were going so far. When we got to the boat, my dad, Christy, her mom (I think…) and I sat in one row and her dad, brother and sister were in the row behind us. We waved at everyone as our boat was leaving the loading area. IASW was fun as usual, but it was even more fun to be with a friend! Well…at least I consider her to be my friend, I’m not sure if she knows that! When we got under the bridge in the unloading area, someone threw a penny down! I don’t think it hit anyone in our boat, but then Christy and I decided to announce that instead of pennies, they were welcome to throw credit cards, gift cards, cameras, etc. to us. Soon, we were off the boat and back into the bright sunlight. Dad and I had to get back to EPCOT and they were staying at MK, so we had to say good-bye. :sad1: I believe we took another picture, this time one of me, Christy and her whole family. Christy, if you have this picture, could you please post it for me? After we said good-bye, Dad and I made our way back down Main Street, stopping quickly to grab a bottle of water. Just a few minutes later, we were on the monorail, headed towards the TTC. I’m going to stop there for now. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for posting that picture! I have another one of us inside the building. Oh yeah! I guess my dad did take the picture of all of us...I'll have to find that...

Thanks! You'll get to it on your TR soon! Yes, we did have a great time! And yes! We need to have another DIS meet! Hopefully before 2014, because that's too far away!

I am loving your TR and am still getting caught up. I'm the oldest of 3 girls too, though we're now 28 (in a few weeks), 25, and 21. Looks like a great trip!

Awww, I love your DISmeet story! I wish mine with Erin (mimiloveswdw) would have happened now.
I met an online friend before, not from the DIS, but I pretty much felt the same you did. :goodvibes

Your welcome! I was looking for that one to post too but I dont have it either :sad2:

I hope so! It's been a hectic day I was going to do day 5 today too but that's not happening  it definatly is too far! But I can't wait to hang out again!!:goodvibes

You two are adorable!!!! Love the update and the picture! It is weird meeting people that you know from online. I belong to a couple mommy message boards. The one from when i was pregnant with Sophie is super close. There is a reunion yearly. When we get together, it's like you hang out all the time! You just pick up where you left off online, but it's in person! I hope the two of you remain friends for life. Just think...maybe someday you will be planning trips with your own kids...or grandkids! :lovestruc

:yay: for the DIS meet! I'm glad it went so well. You 2 are so cute!

Thanks so much for joining in! You and your sisters are spaced the same in age as my sisters and I! Thank you so much!

Thank so much! That's too bad that you and Erin didn't get to meet up! It's scary meeting someone new at first!

I'm going to ask my dad about it right now! Hopefully you'll get day 5 up tomorrow!

Thank you so much! That's great that you're still so close with the ladies you met when you were pregnant with Sophie! I hope we remain friends for life too! What do you think about that Christy? I'm not sure I want to think about that yet! School starts tomorrow, so that's pretty much all that's on my brain right now! I'm going to be a freshman and I still haven't seen my locker or any of my classes! :scared1: Freshman orientation starts at 6:30, but I wish that they would have let us come sooner than the day before school starts to walk our schedule and put supplies in our lockers! I'll post pictures of us tomorrow afternoon!

What a great experience! Did you meet while writing a PTR? I did see there is a teen link on the boards!?!?! :confused3 I think that would be sooo fun for our oldest DD on our next trip.

Thing 1, you're a great writer!!! I'm really enjoying your TR...I love the flip-flops idea, here in Brasil we use them A LOT so I'm going to do one for my DD,Leila ( I think she's going to love it too!).You seem a very nice girl ( especially for a 14 year old...trust me, I know it,my oldest son, Guillherme, just turned 14...:scared1:). Thanks for sharing your wonderful vacation with us...We spent our last christmas at WDW( 25 days, it was a blast:wizard:). In october we are going to Disneyland Paris for 8 days...it's going to be a surprise for the kids...hopefully DS14 will enjoy it or I'll be getting a lot of that "eye rolling" thing that he does all the time...;).

Looks like you have made a DISfriend...how cool to have a meet up. I would love to meet some of the ladies that are following along on my PTR...sadly I am the lastest to go WDW, most of them will be LONG done and home by the time we even make it to the airport! I love that you met at "It's a Small World..."how appropriate.

It was a great experience! Yes, we both started a PTR and were posting on each other's. When we realized we were going to be there similar dates, we decided to try and plan a meet. Have your DD make an accout and post on the teen board and maybe even start her own PTR. It's a great way to make new friends and then you get to have a fun meet up at Disney World!

Great trip report!!!

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! How old is your DD? And I love the name Leila! Thank you so much! Is Guillherme into "teenager stuff"? I think part of what keeps me (for lack of a better word) "normal" is that I'm not really that into clothes, hair, make-up, etc yet. Wow! 25 days at Christmas!! I would love to go to Disneyland Paris! Want to pack me in your suitcase? Are you writing a PTR? Hopefully Guillherme will love Disneyland Paris!

Yes, I have made a DISfriend! That stinks that none of the other ladies will be there when you are! Just another excuse to go back! And yes, I guess our meeting place was appropriate!

No update today :sad2:...My sisters and I had our first day of school today. I'll post pictures of us after I upload them, which will probably be sometime after dinner. Do any of you/your kids get homework the first night? My teachers decided I needed to do a math worksheet (for math class) and then decorate a file folder and write a paragraph about how we decorated it (English)! Sorry about not updating today...hopefully I will be able to tomorrow!

good luck with school...the report is going great.....you should get exta credit in you english class for this.....not many teenagers can hold this amount of people attention...you are a gifted writer...

I was a little behind so....

Red bean ice cream....not sure about that but I'm from South Louisiana so when I think red beans, I'm thinking creamy beans, smoke sausage and rice. I'm having a hard time imagining that flavor cold.

Circle of Life - I might have to add that to my to do list because we've never seen it. I know its not a must do but I'd hate for it to go away and I would have never seen it.

DisMeet - Sooooo coool!!! I tried to meet up with some Disers a couple years ago but it didn't work out. :( We couldn't find each other. :confused3 It was dark and at a party. I'm so glad you guys met in person. :goodvibes

Back to school already?? I never went back until after Labor Day. Then again we didn't get out until late June. I'm assuming you get out earlier than that.

Homework on the first day??

Just read your TR and am loving it!

You and your sisters are so adorable! And you're such a great big sister!

How fun to have a Dis meet! Glad it went well!

I have to say it's so awesome that you guys get to go back again so soon! I'm really trying to convince DH to go back, but our finances are a bit limited. Plus our DD is only 19 months, guess we should wait until she's a little older

Can't wait to read more!

Sounds like some great teachers...:rotfl: Sorry had to write that from a teachers point of view! I think you should give your English teacher a link to your TR and show her you have been writing all summer...that should be a lot of extra credit!
