12 days at bwv, LIVE! You name it, we’re probably doing it. *DAY 8 with PICS p7#100*

Those pics are great, I am thinking of buying a dSLR for my upcoming trip "Home"(BWV at Thanksgiving)...what brand, model camera is that and lens too?

Thanks

Great report so far! Sounds like you guys are having a great time! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info on the Wishes Dessert Party...we are thinking about doing that, but I would hate to see people acting like that. That stuff really bothers me; why do they think they're any more special than anyone else there?! But I digress. :lmao:

Looking forward to reading more!

Thanks :goodvibes

Yes, we are in 5015 & 5017- you know your BW view rooms!!

I love it! Yes, I hope some "whahoo" doesn't move your table card too. My advise is show up at 8:05pm. They refill the desserts all night, so you won't miss out on anything, except standing in a LONG line. Then if you are happy with your view from your table, at about 8:40 take your chairs up to the railing, then turn & watch as everyone else follows suit- it's great entertainment.

Guess you can tell that we spend a lot of time at the BW:goodvibes Our favorite rooms are 5003/5005 although we tend to get 5007/5009 a lot (like our last three trips):lmao: Although it is a walk we like that area because it is quiet and has a great view of MK and EPCOT fireworks. Worth the walk for us (especially after eating all those things at WDW that we don't eat in real life).

Great tip on the Wishes party. Wishes will be at 8 p.m. the night we are booked. When I made the ressie she said to get there at 7:45 or so. Love the idea of moving the chairs near the rails about 20 minutes before the show.

Woot! :woohoo: Great update----love the pics and OMG your new room at BWV looks fantastic, what a huge balcony! Luckily for us, we are staying in a standard view studio in December, so the balcony is kind of a non-issue since I don't plan on sitting on it to observe the delivery trucks to the BWV. :rotfl2:

Great pics from Animal Kingdom and so glad to see you enjoyed the Wishes Dessert Party. I have been going back and forth about whether or not to keep it because it sort of takes the place of dinner that night, but I think I decided to go and try it once. It's only $70 for the three of us, which isn't horribly expensive.

And re: Splash Mountain it is totally a classic and the best ride in WDW, methinks. You don't have to worry too much about getting wet, I honestly never get more than a little sprinkle or Splash (although some people get a little more) but it's nothing like Kali River Rapids. You won't come out with soaked shoes, wet underwear and feeling like your clothes are painted onto your body. No worries. Try it, you'll love it if you do---I promise.

PS: I'm sure you were too busy enjoying WDW last night, but did you happen to hear the update that the Phils won the division? Not shocking, I know, but I thought you'd want an update regardless. ;) :rotfl:

Awesome view ! Now I want to switch from Beach club to Boardwalk,I miss it,but I think my daughter will kill me she's never stayed at the Beach club,my husband and I did for a few days a long time ago now she wants to try it.We all stayed at the Boardwalk last summer with a Boardwalk view and loved it.My husband lived at the ESPN bar when we were there. He also loves the old pictures around the hotel look for the one with the 3 stooges he went crazy when he found that one.

We really want to stay at bcv, but we love BWV so much we're afraid we'll stay at BCV & then be sitting there disappointed staring at BWV.

When we were in that room I also reported to the front desk that the room should be booked like a dedicated 2 bedroom because there really is no BW view from the studio part. The studio part should NOT be booked separately except maybe as a standard view. There is definitely a trade-off with the huge balcony in that the solid wall (though low) prevents a clear view of the BW unless you are standing. Of course it also is possible to use the balcony in less clothing.... Love your report!

Yeah it makes sense, the balcony is pathetic but I don't mind it since, like you said, I have the huge on right next door.

Thanks

Thanks. It's a Nikon d60 with a 18 - 200mm Nikkor lens. I love it, but I'm learning still, so my pics don't even do the camera justice. Those were taken in the auto sports mode.

I hear you. At one point a man moved his seat in fornt of another families. He saw me watching him & I think my face was talking. SO he looks at me & says, "Hey I paid for this, right?" Yeah & so did everyone one else including the people you moved in front of!

Now I digress.

Definitely do the Wishes party. It was really was nice.

Thank you for updating me on the state of the phillies post season run. You know I have been losing sleep over it. I've been dying to know. Now I can have a great vacation. Thank you for that.

Now would you please excuse me so that I can go jump of my balcony.

I agree with you - the studio should never be booked separately! I would be so disappointed if I had booked just a studio bw view and saw that.

MissMet - I am so jealous of your view tho!! and the balcony from the 1-bedrooom side is awesome. Since I will be reserving a BW view in 2010 for a 2-bedroom and 2 studios, I so hope we get a fifth floor room. I love the new decor in the studio - so much better! I hated those striped sofas!

Your dad will be so surprised  Now as far as the dessert party, I'm so glad you and your mom got a great table (even after all those rude people - what is wrong with people these days?) At least you didn't let it ruin your surprise for her.

I am really enjoying your live TR. I clicked on it because I was curious about the BWV. I had no idea I was going to get a TR as it was happening.

It sounds like you are having such a great time. I am really enjoying your pics of BWV. I am a fairly new DVC member who has stayed at SSR and AKL. I will be calling tomorrow at 7 months for a trip in early May. I would :love::love: to get BWV, but I know its a long shot. Seeing your pics makes me want to stay there even more.

I agree that your view from the 1 BR was lovely and the BW view is even better!

Uggghhhhh....I hate the experience you described with the dessert party. People can be see rude. I'm glad you and your mom still had a great time. Looking forward to reading more!

Oh, I hope you are able to get the room you want at BWV. It really is a magical place. :goodvibes

Day 4

Hey everyone. Today was an unusual day without many pics. It was more of a relax & take it all in type of day.

We started the day later than planned. That has seemed to happen every morning so far. I won’t name names, but I’m always ready to go. ;) We decided we wanted to do a little shopping at DTD, so we headed to the bus stop. We got to the bus stop and there was a CM there. Apparently this is the new thing. There is a CM stationed at all the bus stops with radios. He was great. His name was Rickey. We saw a AK bus come. Then we saw a MK bus. Then a little later another AK bus. Then a little after that another AK bus. Then a MK bus & then another MK bus. Then another bus came, it was a MK bus!!! We saw 4 MK buses & 4 AK buses before the DTD/TL bus ever came! It was ridiculous! Thank God for Rickey ‘cause without him there would have been pandaemonium! He was great. He kept on his radio to find out what was going on. He also sang & danced. He did the “bus song” for about 20 minutes & even got a bunch of the guests to join in. He sang it & it even had moves & the lyrics were, “The bus, the bus, the big white bus. The rain can’t stop it. The thunder can’t stop it. The lightening can’t stop it. You can’t stop it.” He was hysterical!! Once he got the group of guest around him singing it, the DTD bus finally pulled in. Well, when he saw that bus he went nuts, like if he was getting on it. He screamed, “yes” at the top of his lungs & then went running around the bus stop high-fiving everyone. Here’s the infamous Rickey:

We waited so long, that the BWV filled the entire DTD bus. He had to radio that the bus would have to go right to DTD & not make any more stops. In the end, including the wait time, it took us an hour & 10 minutes to get from BWV to DTD marketplace, only stopping at TL. Once we finally got to DTD, we bought some ornaments & I bought an adorable milk & cookies for santa set. (I’ll have pics of that stuff later) After our shopping we were pretty hungry, so we headed over to Earl of Sandwich. We split the All American (turkey, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, cranberry & ranch dressing) & the Holiday Sandwich (turkey, stuffing, gravy & cranberry). They both were equally amazing. Here they are:

Next we did a little more window shopping & then head back to BWV to drop off the bags & relax a little. After some relaxation we headed to Epcot & walked the WS, stopping and sitting in the shade to people watch as we went along. We got to France & sat on a bench & a CM came over & was just standing like 2 feet from us staring. Finally he decided to talk to us. It was weird though. Then he stopped talking but continued to stand there & stare. :confused3 Then he asks us if we would like to take a picture with him. I didn’t know what to say or do. Of course my mom left me hanging & didn’t answer, so I just said, “No... no thank you.” with a smile. So then he just continued to stand over us staring. It was getting really weird. Finally my mom said, “You know what I want to go check out the bakery.” Took her long enough.  It was just weird. Next we sat in Morocco & listened to MoRockin for a while. Then we went to America & shared a frozen lemonade. When we ordered it we thought we were getting one of those frozen minute made lemonades, but what we ended up getting, tasted like a frozen sprite. It was good just not what we were expecting. Here it is, half gone:

Next we sat on a bench just before that Africa outpost. This is where the first sad moment of the day came in. We were sitting on the bench & this older lady (85 years old) and her daughter came riding up each on their own scooter. They pulled up to us next to the bench. They just sat there for a while. The next thing I see is my mom going running down to the end of the bench. Apparently the 85 year old woman decided she wanted to sit on the bench, but didn’t ask her daughter for help. Well, she fell out of the scooter, it looked like directly on her bottom & her leg got caught under the scooter. So my mom went running over & her 30 year background of nursing kicked in. So I look over & see my mom lifting this elderly lady. So now I am in a panic for both the lady & my mother, whose still recovering from a hip surgery. So I got there & grabbed the other side of the lady. We had to pull her back to get her leg out from under the scooter & then we lifted her to the bench. My mom then sat with her & asked her a bunch of questions & just watched her to be sure she was ok. Well, turns out the lady was COVERED in black & blues. The daughter then told us that she insists to do things on her own all the time & ends up falling. She said how she is afraid people aren’t gonna believe her that she’s not abusing the mother. It was so sad. :sad1: My mom was practically crying when we finally left them. I think because of how sad it is, but also because her mom is 87 & the exact same way. Next we headed to Norway & rode Malestrom. I always get a kick out of that ride, ‘cause that was the ride that terrified me most, my entire childhood. Now I ride it & think, “I was afraid of this??”. This time the ride was not too fun. We had an older couple line up behind us, but they thought they were supposed to ride with us, so they got in to our row as well. Those boats were obviously only supposed to seat three adults. We were crammed in to tight we couldn’t move! I was pretty annoyed. I had to sit forward the whole ride. It takes a lot for me to get in a bad mood, especially in wdw, but today was not one of my normal days. :rolleyes1 Things kept going wrong or were just pretty sad. Next we walked to Mexico where we were having dinner tonight. We went on the Mexico ride, don’t remember the name. I LOVE that ride. I love Donald. I’ll take a moment to explain the background of tonight's meal to those who didn’t get to read my ptr. Almost a year ago I was on the DISboards & I saw a thread about a dish at San Angel Inn. I love duck & it was a duck entire that looked unbelievable. You can see a pic in my ptr. Well I have been counting down almost a year to eat this one dish. Sounds a little crazy, but I am when it comes to food. I live to eat! So tonight was finally the night that I would get to eat that meal. As we were sitting on the ride I got this overwhelming thought of what if they don’t serve that dish anymore. I’ve been checking the menus online up until our trip & it is still listed, but I just thought it. So we go to check in & there is a long line. We get on the line & end up right even with the dinner menu. I glance over at it & you guess it. It’s gone!!!! :scared1: I was so upset! Now I started to put two and two together. The CS menu changed & now the TS menu changed, I think they got a new head chef or something. I was beyond disappointed. We were only going there for that dish. So we decided to go up to the counter & make sure they didn’t serve it & then just cancel our resi. Sure enough it was gone, so we gave our resi to a bunch of drunk woman behind us who were trying to eat there without a resi. After I had my 6 year old child, temper tantrum we decided to eat at Sunshine Seasons. :rolleyes1 Sad moment #2 was behind us. We both had the pork with mashed potatoes & carrots & sharred a bowl of corn chowder. It all was amazing!

After dinner we walked to the IG boat dock and got on the boat to bwv to meet my dad in the lobby. We got there & sat in that huge chair in the foyer for about 20 minutes until he showed up on ME. We took him upstairs & showed him the room, with the blinds closed. Then when he thought the tour was over I told him he had to see the best part & opened the blinds. He was/is blown away! He’s like a little kid. We spent the rest of the night on our balcony catching up & watching the fireworks. The whole night he kept saying, “This is the best. You know it? It’s the best yet. It’s better than Grand Floridian. This is the best. etc” It was really cute. My mom realized she needed stamps for her work (that she brought with her!! Yeah, what I would like to do to the inventor of blackberries ) and "shout" for my dad’s laundry, so my dad & I headed down to the Thimbles & Threads on the BW. We bought our stuff & on the way back we saw sad moment #3. A women with her 2ish year old daughter was being escorted by 4 paramedics & two disney security. I don’t know what happened to the little girl but she didn’t look good. On a positive note, on that trip my dad & I decided to try & find the stairs that lead directly to the BW- we found them! And they’re close to our room too!

Well that was really it for today. It was an unusual day. On one happy note we went into the American Pavilion saw this:

Notice the Mets shirt & lack of a Phillies shirt?? :woohoo: Disney knows whats up. :rotfl: The Phillies may be in post season, but they don’t have their shirts in Epcot. ;) :lmao:

Here’s some shots I took with the dslr. I was really just playing around & testing things. The one with the stars is a 8 point cross screen filter I put on. I have a 6 point & I think that would look better, but I’m gonna try for nicer shots later this week. Enjoy though!

Up Next: Day 5 with a Ticker Tape Parade!

Today did have sad moments. I hope tommorrow will be better:goodvibes. I'm so glad to hear your dad is hear now he can start enjoying some WDW with you and your mom. I love the pic of the Epcot ball.:thumbsup2

Bless your mom's heart! How sweet of her to help that lady  Your day was really filled with up and down moments. I was anxious to hear your dad's reaction to the view and it was awesome! I'm glad he loved it.

What great pics you got of the night time view :thumbsup2 Wonder when the scaffolding will come down tho - hoped it would have before you got the boardwalk view. Love the Mets shirt  Also I wonder how long they will have CM's at the bus stops - is this just for BWV? He was so amp'd, wasn't he? But in a good way

Sorry that you had a day filled with some sadness ... although you made me sad with your Phillies comment ... JUST KIDDING!!!:lmao:

Your night time photos are fantastic!! Don't you just love the view from your room ... except for scaffolding of course.

Looking forward to your next report. Keep up the good work:thumbsup2

Wow...what a crazy day you had! I'm glad your mom helped that poor lady. And the little girl....well, that just upsets me. I hate the thought of someone getting really ill while in Disney world. I'm sure it happens a lot, but still.

I'm glad that your dad loves your resort. How cool. I ended up getting Wilderness Lodge Villas for my stay in May. I am pretty happy with that since I fell in love with the WL during my last. I figure BWV will still be there next trip....or the one after....or the one after.

I have only noticed the CMs at the BWV bus stop and at the AK bus stop. DTD had them at the begining of the trip, but that was just because the other stop was closed, I'm guessing. :confused3

Oh, my family wants to stay at WL on our next trip! We haven't stayed there yet & have always loved it when we visited for dinner. We were actually just talking about that today. :)

Day 5 - pics will be up later today. :flower3:

I’m back again after an amazing day at wdw.

We started today right on time. We left our room this morning for Epcot at 8:15am. We used our new discovery- the stairs that lead directly to the bw. We decided to take the boat over to Epcot since we were so early. My dad loves boats, so any chance that he can get to ride on one he’ll take it!

We got to the IG pretty quick. The let everyone in the parks at 8:50, which was nice since we had a longer walk than those guests in the front of the park. We went straight for Soarin’, 10 minute wait so we hopped on. Next we went to test track, 10 minute wait so we hopped on. After that we went to Mission Space, 5 minute wait, so we went, less intense version of course. By that time it was 10:40am, so we headed towards the WS since we wanted to enjoy more F&W. Here’s the pics & our ratings. Side note on the ratings, don’t take my dad’s too seriously, if the portions were bigger, his ratings would have been higher.

After enjoying F&W we headed to the France bakery where my mom got a Napoleon. It was really good, but it was a zoo in there! It took us almost a half our to get through the line. Never go there a 12pm. After relaxing at a table inside while my mom enjoyed her Napoleon we headed back to the BW where my dad got a carrot cake from the bakery & I got a cookies & cream ice cream cone. Very good!

After sitting on the BW for a while we headed up to the room for a bit and my parents took a nap. While we were in the room we noticed that they were taking down the scaffolding!! I was so thrilled! They only got about a third of it down, but they should be able to get the rest of it down by the time we leave. Next we headed to HS. It was crazy busy because it was a F! night. We went & saw little mermaid. Then it was the parade, so we thought it would be perfect timing to go on the great movie ride, it was. We walked right on. Our driver was a good one. We got the mob one. I haven’t gotten the cowboy since I was a kid. I think they only do that one during busy times. Oh, well. By then it was about 3:50 so we decided to head back to the room so I could get my bag and then we were going to head to AK for eve EM. I decided that I would get off the boat at Swan & walk to our room, get my stuff and then meet my parents at the bus stop. They stayed on the boat and got off at BWV. Well, I made it from Swan/Dolphin to my room and then to the bus in 12 minutes. My parents weren’t there yet, so I sat on the bench & waited. I sat there for 20 minutes! It took them 32 minutes to get from the Swan/Dolphin to the bus stop. I knew there had to be something wrong, because when I was in our room I saw there boat was halfway to our hotel. Turns out they needed a bathroom stop and my dad let my mom lead the way in finding a bathroom. My mom is known for her lack of a sense of directions. They ended up down in the Conference Center!! They covered a lot of ground including the 1st & 2nd floor. Well they finally go to me at the bus stop. We got to AK at like 4:55, bad idea! Everyone was leaving the park as we were trying to get in. That was crazy. After we finally made it in we headed to the Safari. We saw an ok amount of animals.

Day 5, part 2

After the Safari we headed towards Asia since we wanted to try Yak & Yeti’s CS. On our walk I asked my mom if she wanted to ride EE, she hesitantly said yes, so we left my dad on a bench & went. My mom was so nervous. I was too. I had only been on once & that was almost two years ago. If you read my last TR you know I don’t do roller coasters. On my last trip I went with my brother & some friends & they got me on the ride. They also got me on Space Mtn which I also had never been on. I really am a baby. So the line said a 10 minute wait and I think that was pretty accurate. They seated us in the back, so I was a little nervous but I didn’t say anything to me mom, I didn’t want her to be more nervous. While on line I talked her through the whole ride & what to expect. I think she saw a combined 15 seconds of the ride. This is how she rode the entire time:

She was hysterical. She was screaming like she was dying. It was a lot more intense than I remembered it. I don’t know if it was because we were in the back, but it was intense! When the ride ended she couldn’t get up. I got off the ride & started walking to go see the picture & when I turned to talk to her she was still trying to get out of the car. I went back to her & she was laughing/talking loudly, “I am 60 years old! What am I doing?” She had everyone cracking up. We went to pick-up our pictures, (which now they are doing buy 1 get 1 free on all the ride photos, so I got two 8x10s for $20.) and we talked to the funniest teenager. He walked up to us on line & said, “what is this?” I told him we were waiting for our pictures. Then he goes, “Oh, ok. I don’t know what it is but after I get off that ride I just want to help people.” Just how he said it, it was so unexpected, out of the blue & I so knew what he meant after just having gotten off the ride. After that we walked back to my dad & then had some dinner at the Yak & Yeti CS. I don’t recommend it. They messed up our order twice & the food was not good at all. Yuck! My mom & I got the honey chicken, my dad got the Shrimp Lo Mein & we got eggrolls as well.

After dinner we headed to Dinoland. My dad & I rode Primeval Whirl. My mom was still recovering from EE & had no desire to get on another roller coaster, even if it was Primeval Whirl. Then We went on Dinosaur, which my parents forgot how intense it was so it was even more enjoyable for me. I had my dad on my left hysterical laughing through the whole ride & my mom on my right hysterical screaming the whole ride. I was laughing so hard by the end of that ride in pain. It was great! After that it was about 7:45pm so we headed to the exit, stopping to get a photopass pic in front of the lit up tree. It was really cool to see AK at night. We got to our bus with the mass exodus & actually got seats on the bus & there were still empty ones when we left. We ended up being the only ones headed to BWV. After we got back to the hotel my dad went down to the BW for some ice cream & my mom & I soaked our feet in the jacuzzi. This is probably going to be a regular thing each night. It was so nice.

Today was another hot one & the weather forecast is in the 90s again for the rest of the trip. This weather is just a little too hot for me to enjoy WDW like I’d like to. It just takes it out of you so quick. I haven’t been taking lots of pictures. It’s like I’m walking in a daze. It’s hot. We normally come the first week of Nov for my mom’s birthday, but that time was never warm enough for me, so we thought we’d try a little earlier in fall. Well, this is too early. Maybe we’ll try the mid-end of Oct, for my b-day maybe! This morning I woke up & my eye is swelled up huge! Earlier in the week I got bit by a spider or something. It got me three times on the leg, one on the cheek & on my eye lid! Well, my eye is swelled up big time! I’ll try & get a pic for you guys. The one on my leg is actually the worst. It was the size of a half dollar & looked like a marble was under my skin in the middle. It’s all made up of like red blotches. It was unbelievable. It’s started to finally go down, I got it the first night. So anyway, you won’t be seeing much of me in pics today. Also we were going to go to the Buzz parade in MK yesterday, but we decided it probably wasn’t gonna be worth it for the amount of crowds that were there. After we got to the room last night & I saw the reports on it, I was glad we didn’t waste our time & energy. Well, today we’re going to have just a relaxed day at the pool, with lunch in Epcot at Tokyo Dining. Talk to you guys soon!
