12/7 MVMCP Dissapointment

Whatever the 'snow' was, we thought it was very pretty. I just got our MVMCP pictures in the mail. What good memories! My kids still talk about how much fun they had. We went on some Tomorrowland rides first with little wait, then went to the first show, got some cookies and hot chocolate, watched the fireworks from right in front of Dumbo (we thought it was a good spot). We then got more cookies and hot chocolate, headed over to Frontierland, got in a lot of Splash Mountain and Big Thunder, watched the second parade, and got our picture taken on our way out. We stopped to watch the castle show, and walked down Main Street with the 'snow' and decorations. I had a great time! Super memories for the kids. Happy holidays, everyone!

Of course it's just about been cold enough lately in Orlando to make real snow. Maybe that's it--Disney is afraid of cold weather and the "snow" sticking. They know that people don't wear studded sneakers to WDW. :)

Interesting replies everyone! I'm glad that I am not the only onw who thought Wishes was poor on 12/7. It started really late too!

It was crowded, but not busy. The streets had a lot of people on them but we walked onto the few rides that we did. We skipped anything that had a long line.

The cookies were really yummy - I could have had a lot more then I did, but there were so few places to get them! The cocoa was good but VERY hot!

DH staked out a place to tape the the 2nd parade (from the end of the route) and it took forever for it to get there! I watched the tape and I thought it was too long, too.

I would try it again, but I need a MNSSHP to fill in the gap before I do it again.

We Didn't Go On The 7th But On The 16th And We Were Extremely Dissappointed. It Was Our First And Last Time. The Money I Spent On The Event Wasn't Worth It. I Guess I'm Spoiled By The Quiet Crowds During E-ride Nights. I Thought Wishes Were Great, But The Massive Crowds Made It Not Worthwhile. We Did Do Pictues And Rode A Few Rides, But Tried To Make It Out Before The Last Parade Started As It Was So Crowded. So Many Told Us To See The Last Parade And Boy Am I Glad That We Didn't Listen. It Was Just As Croweded As The First. I'm Glad That I Went, But So Sad That We Won't Be Doing It Again.

We were there on the 16th and were very dissapointed. It was way too crowded and were very dissapointed in the crummy cookies they were giving out. Crummy literally, they kept falling apart. We've done the MNSSHP and it was wonderful. The MVMCP didn't seem to be much different from the whold Christmas atmosphere through out the park. I don't think it was worth the money.

Good point Dizzy! The party atmosphere wasn't any different from what you saw the rest of the time! (minus Main Street)

When we did MNSSHP, we ate at LTT and when we were done, MK had been transformed into a Halloween extravaganza! I was so inundated by Christmas the whole trip - it was enough to put you off Christmas.

It's really funny that before MVMCP2004 almost everybody was raving about MVMCP, even recommending to go more than once if possible (hence my 3 sets of tickets).

After MVMCP2004, the ratio is now reversed.

But, I didn't see a LOT of differences between MVMCP 2004 and the previous 2 years, except that the crowds had returned to "normal" levels AND the cookies/cocoa were being distributed in different locations. Oh, and no "badge". Please don't tell me the lack of a 50¢ trinket ruined the entire experience.

The shows were the same (except for the outdoor stage in Tomorrowland), the rides were the same, so why the turnaround in reviews?

This was our 7th year and I thought it was pretty much the same except for less places to get your picture taken (and no button!). In previous years, we always got ours done right away at Small World, very little wait.

Wishes was about 5 or 10 minutes late, I don't think that was really bad. I understand on Dec 5 it did not go off until 9:45 (which explains why I couldn't see it from the Boardwalk at 9:15 that night). It seemed to be the same as any other time I've seen it (I've always seen it in front of the castle). Disappointed in no Rudolph and no Christmas music with the surround fireworks. The parade actually seemed a little shorter to me! I was surprised when Mrs. Claus' float came (you know that's almost the end).

Plan to be back next year! We're planning Nov 26 to Dec 2, hopefully the first MVMCP will be Sunday or Tuesday that week.

I haven't read this whole thread, but would someone please tell me what MVMCP and MNSSHP is? I really get frustrated reading this site and not knowing what half of the acronyms are.

It would be really nice if in the opening post the person would spell out the acronym just once, especially if the acronym is in the title.

Just wanted to add that I found the thread that has the acroyms on it and found the answers to my questions. I hate knowing that I'm going to have to keep referring to that thread though.

Don't worry, LindsayDunn, you're still "new here" (Welcome). After a while the acronyms will be second nature to you. :) It just takes awhile.
