Hi all! I am going to be coming home to WDW for my birthday this December. Got a great airfare for 12/6-11/09, called Member Services to book a room, and nothing was available in a studio or 1 bedroom for the 6th!:scared1: Booked a 1br at SSR for the other 4 nights, and waitlisted for the 6th at SSR or for the whole period at BCV. I have 1 day of an old park hopper ticket, 3 WP&M features, and my free birthday 1-park ticket. Planning on buying MVMCP ticket for my birthday, and either a 2 or 3 day base MYW ticket to cover the rest.

My dilemma is this; how long do I wait for the list to come through before either booking a cash ressie at one of the value or moderates for the day I arrive, or , alternately, coughing up $350 to book one night at Universal and a 1-day 2-park ticket so I can see a little of the other place? And does anyone think that would be worth the $$ vs. around $100-140 for a room at WDW, and the $65 or so for the 3rd day of WDW admission?

Not quite pulling my hair out yet, but only because it isn't long enough to grabhold of!

Sorry to hear about your dilemma. If it were me, I would just book a cash room for now and then cancel if the WL comes through.

I would also think that you would have a better chance of getting the 6th if you just WL that at a 2nd resort instead of the whole BCV.

And, I would call MS periodically, if not daily, to check. I really want to be able to stay for two nights of our August trip at BLT, but would take BWV over AKV, where I had reservations. The first time I called, nothing so I WL BLT, LV for the 4 nights (2 at a time). The next time, they had the 2nd two nights at BWV, so I took that (kept my WL) and then the 3rd time, I got BWV for the 1st two. So at least, I am no longer at AKV. But availability changed over the course of 3 days so keep trying!

Good luck!

Just a note on your tickets. You mentioned that you are either going to buy a 2 or 3 day ticket. If you are going to buy the 3 day standard ticket, you'd be better off buying a 4 day ticket and taking the $25 birthday gift card since the difference between a 3 day pass and a 4 day pass is $7. This does not work if you are going to get the 2 day pass since the difference between the 2 day pass and the 3 day pass is $63.

Is the Birthday Gift Card only $25? I thought it was supposed to be for the value of a one-day one-park ticket? If that's the case, it's a no-brainer which to take!

It is the value of a one day ticket, like $75.

We planned an extra trip this year from 12/7-12/11 because we were able to get $139 airfare from Minneapolis. :cool1:

They told us there was no availability on the 7th at WDW, so we decided to stay at Vero Beach that night. We've never been and wanted to check out the resort. It is a 2 hour drive, but we'll be renting a car anyway. Then we'll drive back and spend the 8-11th at SSR. Maybe we'll see you there. Good luck with getting the 6th!

Just checked my account online, and they got me a room at SSR for the 6th! Now I just have to make sure they link the 2 reservations together so I don't have to change rooms...and then I have to decide if I still want to waitlist for BCV or BWV instead, since they are much more convenient for my vacation style.

I also just purchased my ticket for MVMCP for the night of my birthday (12/8); I love it when Mickey throws a party for me!:cake:

Congratulations! That didn't take long. :) Anything else that comes through will just be gravy. Happy birthday to you a bit early!
