Big NEWS!!!!!!! I FINISHED my dress to wear to Parrot CAY!!!!! It is a tropical print with Minnie, Minnie Donald and Daisy!!!!I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!Also, hemmed a Mickey Christmas Print for the table in the stateroom.
I am NOT packed! Have piles and things hanging all over the place....Oh, well, will pack tonight!
I AM wearing Pirate ears (if I can find them at the airport). If not I am bringing a spare pair to dress up pirate style somehow!!!!!!! Have a Pirate outfit also! I am also wearing my Mad Hatter hat (found it at DLR at the Mad Hatter Shop) when I have tea with Wendy, Alice and I hope the Mad Hatter! It is the MAIN thing I am going to sign up as SOOON as I get on board!
It seems like our Main Lady (Joy), who started this all, is on her way. Safe Journeys to her family and anyone else flying today!. Maybe we should do a Roll Call to see who is left. DH, DS (Basil Fox), MinLaw and I will be in Orlando Friday afternoon (MinLaw and me) and Friday night (DH and DS).
I will still do the countdown tonight (Thursday, early a.m.) and then will do it tomorrow night (Friday, early a.m.). Sure hope some people are left!!!!!!

We fly in Friday afternoon too!!

Arrive time 2:38 pm, then a town car to the DTD area. Our hotel is across the street from the marketplace.

I have piles too. I won't pack until tomorrow night. No need to flatten my clothes until then plus not sure on the suitcase yet.

Ipod is all set and charged up. Palm Pilot is Synched and ready. Phone is on the charger so it can be used up to the departure. Electronics are a go...Did LAST trip to Target and Walmart. Found Mad Hatter Hat. Now to find some MM Ears. I want the Pirate ones so will try to locate them at the Orlando Airport in one of the Disney Stores (there are 2 there). Is anyone else bringing and wearing Ears? If so, what kind?????
Tomorrow is Laundry and Packing Central. Will try to sew dress ....it is looking doubtful, though.
Can't believe that I read that Basil Fox bought ANOTHER pair of shoes .......That will make a Zillion plus One!!!!!!

We've arrived in FL. Had some issues with our credit card. Thank goodness we brought a second one. Chase is sending a new one to the resort tomorrow.

It's great to hear that some of you have left already!!

Disney Lady, DH and I are wearing "beachy" ears that we found on sale earlier this year! I considered wearing my "bride" ears...we ARE celebrating our honeymoon, but it's two years later (darn it, I didn't have a wedding, I didn't have a honeymoon right after, this is my honeymoon ) and I'm not sure if I'd look weird or not.

If we were going to the parks before Friday, I'd offer to pick you up a pair! But tonight is hair cuts, tomorrow is nails, and packing in between.

Today is the 6 year anniversary of my mom's passing, so we're having a quiet evening after our haircuts tonight.

And please ignore the fact that I'm posting in the "drinking" thread over there

Edit: oh, and I know most of you guys are looking forward to lobster night, but I'm vegetarian - and the veggie dish that night has me DROOLING:

"Blue Cheese and Asparagus Risotto. With Celery and Roasted Walnut Loaf"

That sounds heavenly!

(DH doesn't like seafood, but he's not veggie - so we'll be the only party without a lobster tail that night )

Glad that those of you who have arrived, arrived safely!

DH and I have one more day at work, I just got my nails and hair done, and I'm doing more laundry...of course.

We're leaving on Friday around 12:30 to drop off keys, then meandering to the port to get there around 2-ish. Even though the hotel has wifi, DH and I decided to leave the laptops at home because we don't want to bring them on the ship, nor do we want to leave them in the trunk of our car while it's parked there.

Thursday All Day---Last Day Home--That means a 1 for Home and 2 Days til the Magic!!!!!!!!
Got DH packed and then ran out of steam-Must have been all the sewing on my dress.....Will tackle my piles later today. It is 4:30 a.m. and I am going to bed! Hopefully, I will sleep a little. I am SOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
Glad some people have arrived safely in Florida . Say hi to Mickey and Minnie for me!!!!! Hope the weather is warmer than the 28 degrees here in Michigan! Also, no SNOW!!!!!!!
MinLaw and I arrive at MCO at about 1:40 Friday afternoon. I want to check out BOTH Disney Stores to get Pirate ears. Then off the rent the car at Hertz and then to go to the Hampton Inn near the airport. Since our original plans were to get in at 9:30 at night (DH and Basil are on that flight) we opted for the Hampton Inn. Would love to slide over to DTD but will have to see how the time allows.

Exactly! I'm already starting to feel the same way!

I woke up early this morning and started going through what I've packed in my head...did I pack enough dresses for dinner? Do I need to bother bringing workout clothes, or is it enough just to take walks around deck 4 and 10? (I'd like to think I'll keep lifting weights next week....but I doubt it)

I really can't believe this is finally here. We initially booked back in April 07, the 9/27 DD...then when we took a short Wonder "practice" cruise to make sure we liked it and didn't get seasick, we switched to this one. And it's finally, finally here.

I keep thinking back and laughing about how back in August-ish, when I submitted my vacation time for next week, my boss asked me to "wait next time" in case they needed me that week. Uhhhhh... it's booked and paid for, there's no "needing Kathleen" that week! Especially now!

So we're 90% packed, I just have to get on DH's butt about getting his clothes packed. Have to check on the hotel reservation, print out everything I've charted, make my to-do list for Saturday, and then tomorrow pack up the last minute toiletries and chargers.

We'll *try* to make it to the meet at 3 on Saturday, but we can't promise anything.

Ehhhh. I'm very glad no one was hurt at the port in the storms we had last weekend, but I'm wondering how we're going to be embarking on Saturday?

Here is what we have been told:
- If you dine at Tritons your last night, debark via Deck 1 forward
- If you dine at Parrot Cay/Animators, debark via Deck 1 aft

Not sure how embark will work, but will be via Deck 1 from the pier.
Also heard the main gangway may be out of commission for up to 8-weeks.

Adriana and I are still here -- we won't arrive in Orlando until 11 pm Friday night....

Our last Disney cruise, the transatlantic, we flew out on the 6 am flight, departure day. We opened the airport, however, two of the TSA's scheduled to work at our terminal failed to show to work, so we were in line 90 minutes, missing our flight. We were waitlisted for five later flights, in different terminals, of course, and made the very last magical express to cape canaveral. i had thought I had covered all my bases, with a nonstop flight and the first flight out of the day to orlando, using my miles to upgrade to first class. Instead we sat in separate rows in the very back of the plane, but at that point, we didn't care!

Packing , packing , packing today.

I have the washer going as we speak to have everything cleaned up. Even asked DS this morning if he had old underwear on so that I have enough for the trip.

We are pretty excited now. The kids keep asking me when is the plane flying out, when are we leaving the house. Very early tomorrow morning, told them they may have to get up like 4:30 - 5:00. They were jumping around, why don't I get that response at 8:00 on a school day like today.

I had trouble sleeping last night... could not stop worrying over things that I need to do and things I need to remember to bring. Does anyone else have this problem?

All have trouble sleeping before a trip. To much on my mind.

I will be okay once I am at the airport and behind security because then even if I did forget something, nothing I can do then. As long as I have passports and tickets and the family I am good to go.

Today is Packing, Packing, Packing!!!!!!!!!!DH is done with help from me yesterday!!!!!! Today it is my turn........Have a fresh head since I slept from 5 a.m. to noon!
Sure hope I don't forget anything......Will start with Kathleen's Packing list then check other lists I have.
It is SNOWING in Michigan......Can't wait to see SAND instead of SNOW!!!!! Glad some of you are still around. It makes me feel not so alone!!!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention! That list is cobbled together from other lists, and some of my own, so it's not really my own creation

After lunch on my last day at work this week, just surfing the DIS looking at pictures of food!

Tonight I'm making homemade mushroom and vegetarian sausage pizza, and I have some leftover wine to use up. Yum yum.

I'm concerned that we're going to get to the port, and I'll have forgotten something, and I'll start freaking out since home is "only" an hour away that I'll want to go back and get it. Argh.

I try to use this approach on other trips/weekends at the family's - as long as I have (eyeglasses/medications/passport/driver's license/other non purchasable things), I can buy it wherever I'm going.

Sometimes we've run into that...brought the laptop, brought my glasses, have my purse...we left the duffle bag with all of our clothes at home!

And welcome, everyone to Florida - we're warming up now as I speak, it should be upper 70s tomorrow and Saturday, and that's just gorgeous!
