12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Wow, I can't believe we are leaving in 10 hours. I'm so excited.
The last few days we were all about packing, unpacking and repacking, what to pack, what not to pack, all the tension, all the emotions. Yup, it's been really something here. DB tends to pack to much and DF thinks not much is needed and answers for everything: "We'll buy it in the US". :confused3

We're not planning a shopping spree here. But I think we'd have to buy some clothes, especially when reading about 40/50 degrees. We can't even buy a jacket here on the island (low 80 whole year long, so they don't sell it)

So, I have snuck in and printed off the cruise booklets on the color laser here at work... they are all ready... well, almost.. I forgot to put it on collate so now I have to assemble them!

Joy, I can't stop thanking you for all your work and the movies list. :thumbsup2

I also took an early vacation and last friday was my last day of work. Thought I'd have more free time to get everything in place, but nooo, :worried: I was urgently called up for work yesterday. I'm finally almost done packing. 10 HOURS...

aloha,
I'm I the only guy who does the planning for our trip. My wife let's me plan everything. She trust me with everything. I'm also planning for another couple. I love doing this. I already planned for our next cruise on DCL for 2009/2010.
My wife just needs to pack her things, be ready to leave and enjoy herself.

I'm joining you, being the guy who did the planning for our trip. Not that I'm good at it, but I like it. My soon to be DW let me handle everything, but is keeping a close eye just in case. I'm keeping contact with the weddingplanner and even making most of the decisions for the wedding, with DW approval ofcourse.
Thanks to this board I'm also guiding, planning, giving tips and answering questions of the whole firsttimers group for the trip. And it's MY first cruise too. :goodvibes

I'll check back later before we leave.
Save journey for you all travelling today.

Well this is it! We are leaving tomorrow morning! :woohoo: I cant believe its finally here! Our flight leaves at 7am tomorrow morning and by noon I will be at EPCOT!! I am so EXCITED!! Needless to say there is about 2 inches of nasty snow on the ground and I slipped and fell on the ice this morning! :rotfl:
So you have to look for us at the port! We will be there about 10am to try and get an upgrade! Send some pixie dust our way! pixiedust:
Next time we talk we will be in heaven! :cloud9:
Safe travels to everyone!

Gina

Safe travels to everyone!!

It's supposed to be 39 F here tonight :scared1:

Gina, the decorations are up all around Epcot and it's beautiful!

DisneyLady, I just called DCL and they said they don't have "anyone's" dining rotation yet :headache: and I mentioned that someone I "knew" was able to get theirs, and they just told me that they couldn't tell me mine. Argh!! Maybe I should call back later.

She did mention the "adult rotation" so I'm wondering, despite what people have said, whether they're still going that route. Which would put us into the LAP rotation. AP on formal night, but PC on semi. I don't know.

Joy, thanks for checking on the movie list!

Basil Fox, I think I have all my shoes packed that I need - I think I cut it down to 8. DH just laughed when I told him that he better start packing his clothes (the one thing I leave up to him) or there'd be no room! DH *IS* however bringing....four pairs of shoes I think? And getting the rental ones through the cruiselineformal? So I'm not TOO bad..

Did my last Target trip last night. I hope! Had to get those clear bra straps which I hate the look of, but man do they seem useful.

What is the adult rotation? When is it? 8:30?

I *believe* it's LAPLAPL, which yes, is the 8:30 one.

We had it on our previous cruise and I did not sleep at all at night, so by the time dinner was over, I crashed. This time I'm bringing my sleeping pills ;)

Thanks! I assume since we are an all adult party this will be our dining rotation! That is completely fine with me!

I'm thinking we'll be happy with that as well - even though it's PC for semi formal, it WOULD put us in Parrot Cay on a random night and allow us to do the burger+fries by the pool thing DH and I talked about.

I think at this point I'm nervous as heck about table mates - we've had some bad ones at the parks before (one couple talking about Nazis at Biergarten :scared1: ) and "eh" ones and I'd really like to have some nice talkative tablemates.

HAHA!! That is why we are only doing a table for 4! We have had some STRANGE tablemates before as well! Good Luck with that!

We did request a table by ourselves as well! I think that's what I'm going to use my time on board for when we first get on - checking on that. DH and I like to have conversation that we don't have to "watch" at dinner. Not talking about "naughty" topics, but we like to talk about politics, video games, etc - and we get weird looks when we walk about our video games. :rotfl:

HAHA! Video Games! I can imagine the looks... but I myself would be interested in hearing that discussion! ;) I just find tablemates sometimes awkward and forced conversation. Luckily there is 4 in our party! I am sending some pixie dust your way! pixiedust:
When I went on my honeymoon (when I was married - not now) we were sat with 3 other couples that were on their honeymoon and they ranged from the snooty couple that acted like they were too good to sit with us, from the country bumpkins that had fun no matter what. :hippie: I think its a crap shoot! I am sure Disney will accommodate your request! Our cruise is definitely not full! I just called DCL to see if my rate had changed! Hoping for a little credit!

:rotfl: I'm not sure.. DH and I discussing the "reputation grind" with a certain "faction" in our video game, the fact that I need to go "collecting herbs in Sholazar Basin" and we wonder how the "raid" will go tonight and should we bring "potions"!

We're nerds

And the fact that the ship isn't full gives me hope, especially since we're at second seating. Thanks for the pixie dust!!

My son would be in heaven if you talked video games. And what is wrong with saying "eh" :lmao: I promise we do not say "eh" or maybe we do and don't realize it.

We have only been at a table for 4 on all previous trips. I guess since we are a family of 4. :confused3

It is snowing like crazy here right now so I am ready even if it is a little cool when we get to Florida.

LOL! No, I love Canadians :lovestruc I mean "eh" like "meh" - tablemates who keep to themselves and don't talk to anyone else.

My husband and your son would get along swimmingly then - he's the video game person, I just play one (World of Warcraft)

SQQQQQUUUUUUEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL -- It's almost here!

I print out my boarding passes in a few hours. Today is my last trip to Target. We are 90% packed. I'm putting together the kids' surprise goodie bags for the airplane today. The last load of laundry has been done. DH found another dress shirt and found DS's flip flops so we are good!

I had requested PLAPLAP for our rotation - middle of the 3 seating times and puts us in PC for pirate night and Lumiere's for Formal night... Hopefully we get it.

Tonight is haircuts for me and the kids and then Sarah has gymnastics, and then home for me to finish packing and I still have a couple portrait session orders to finish up. I also need to transfer files over to my new laptop so I can do some work on the trip (sadly, yes).

I called Happy Limo and confirmed our payment and pickup times. I need to call the hotel to reconfirm too... passports and cruise packet are sitting on the counter at home, ready to go. Just have to run one last load of dishes tonight, vacuum the carpet and mop the floor and we'll be ready to roll!

What does your husband play? Both DS and DH are into all sorts of games.

Oh LORD...I don't know exactly. At least World of Warcraft with me, he's played the other Warcraft titles, Starcraft, Diablo, I think Counter Strike? Doom? Duke Nukem?

He says "mostly first person shooters and real time strategy" games.

He's bringing his Nintendo DS with him for when we're relaxing by the pool and I have a book.

I play World of Warcraft partly because it's a social thing and partly to play with him, and grew up playing the Sim/Maxis games (the Sims came around later, I'm not a huge fan). We've played World of Warcraft with some of the same people for over three years...some of them we've met at Disney, even, when they came down for vacation or conferences. One of the girls we play with is a Cast Member, even!

And I am BOUNCING off the walls - people keep coming up to me and saying they're sorry about my job, but I'm all smiles! I did get a call from a headhunter, so that's positive.

Haircuts tomorrow, DH made me keep my manicure and pedicure appts on Thursday. We have one last time at the gym tonight, I'm making sure the fridge is cleaned out enough. Printing out my charts Thursday. Filling up the MP3 player with good music. Passports are in the front pocket of my roll-on. I'm terrified we're going to show up and something will be wrong with them.

Sounds like you're all set, Joy! So organized!

I love listening to other people's accents... I find it fascinating. I'm not very good at identifying accents from different places, but I love trying. So if I am staring at you with a puzzled look while you're talking, I'm probably just trying to figure out where you're from
