12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

I really need to start looking into packing. I work right up til the day before we leave. Do have the suitcases out and some of the clothes items. Have also started getting together all the documents, and print outs from ressie's for trip. I swear if I get it all together by the time we leave it will be a huge miracle!!

We just got a reality check about our suitcases. I can not take my two big ones because they are two big!! We would have to pay $40.+ each way for the size we have. We just called to confirm the size.

We just told my DD that she will have to fill her backpack with socks and underwear. And she thought it was going to be full of Build a Bears and toys.

It should be interesting packing this time around.:sad2:

Another newcomer here.... Carolc pointed me in this direction.... did you notice my newbie post count? It looks like I've got almost 2 years of posts to catch up on!

My DH and I also just booked this cruise on Friday. We're avid cruisers, but this will be our first Disney cruise experience.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all... :goodvibes

Hello newbies and welcome! I am swamped (an understatement) right now so forgive the curt and short response.... My goal is to retain my sanity for the next 9 days and get my family to Florida in one piece, along with the myriad of suitcases and whatnot, while resting assured that I haven't forgotten about one of my clients....

anyway, if you are new and want to join in on the fun, please complete the profile form by clicking HERE and then once I get your info, I'll add it to our database and send you a link to our cruiser info page. This info will also be added to our cruiser info booklet that I will be passing out in the terminal, along with wristbands. We have extras, so that's not a problem. They are $2 each, and if you look back a few pages, you'll see a photo of them.

I'll try to keep up over the next couple of days, but it may just be quick in-and-out one-liners... bear with me! DisneyLady will keep the countdown going and winotracy has been a wealth of information, so I know you all can fill in the new people with what's going on.

I wish I could be happier about there being 9 days left but I just can't see past tomorrow at this point... STRESS!!!!!!!!!!:scared:

I'm totally in the same boat as you Joy!! Except we head to Orlando in .............gasp............3 days!!!      I'm starting to panic a bit more now that I just typed 3 days on the screen.

Soooo much to do, sooooo little time. We got the luggage out last night. I have started putting everything in piles and list-checking. I need to still do some of the obligatory last-minute quests: go get ca$h, do the last of the laundry, clean the house, and oh yeah, work the next 3 days before we fly outta here!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hope everybody stays happy and healthy pre-cruise!!!!!:goodvibes

DOUBLE ONES!!!!!!!!!That means 11 days til we meet for our cruise!!!!!:dance3:
Just think tomorrow will be the next BIG benchmark and then single digits!!!!! I am with alaskan mommy and with Joy about being stressed! Also, about the packing.......heck I don't even have a bathing suit.....just thought of that! Oh, my--where does one find a bathing suit in December? Would you believe shorts and a top?
I watched the DVD tonight titled Disney Cruise Line (not the one that Disney sends). It is the one bought at the park. I don't know why I had not watched it before this but I hadn't. It was done in 2006 so is somewhat old but it still got the juices running....had Back Stage Tours, fun things like Towel Folding and a recipe for Salmon from Palo...etc. Then I followed that DVD up with the Magic of Christmas about WDW and that REALLY got me revved up...I am ready mentally but not physically.....all that packing to do.
On the Disney Cruise Line one they showed the ship:boat: all dressed up for Christmas. Mickey and Minnie were dressed up too. I can't wait to see them! Guess I might have to pack something Christmas-sy:santa: !!!
Welcome:welcome: to our newbies:thumbsup2 . The more the Merrier!!!! Well, gang, have a Magical :smickey: Monday!!!!!!! LD ::MinnieMo

Oh, My!!! When I posted the Countdown for 11 days it popped up as the first entry on Page 100!!!!!!!
Joy, did you ever think that what you started two years ago would go to 100 pages?????? Quite an accomplishment:cheer2: ........Everybody say thank you:thanks: to Joy:flower3: for spearheading such a gathering:grouphug: .....and we aren't even on the ship!
Does that help your stress level, Joy????????? YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!:yay:

Thank you all for the congrats and warm welcome.

First of all I would like to send lots of pixie dust :tink: to all who are sick.

The Promenade Lounge at 3 PM it still is and Joy, thank you for getting the wristband :thanks: and for this board. :worship: 100 pages is really something. We'll be looking for you in the terminal.

Beerhider, thank you for the info on St. Thomas. :thumbsup2
Now I'm for a trip to St. John rather than heading back to the ship after the island tour. :boat:

Most of the shopping is done, so it's time to pack. :scared:
Hopefully it doesn't get too cold, since we're used to a daily 30°C/86°F. 24°C/75°F may already be too chilly. I think this means more shopping once we're at the world.

Anywoo, :woohoo: woohoo :woohoo: 11 days to cruise. The excitement is waking me up at night. :jumping3:

...
We were originally going to get married on the cruise:bride: but we ran out of time to pay for it. (That is my nice way to say, we didn't have the cash when it was time to pay for it... :rotfl: ) It turned out to be a good thing. This also means my whole family is coming on my honeymoon. :lmao: Good thing we all get along!
...

We wanted to get married on the cruise, but we were told only 2 activities are allowed on the cruise. I wanted to book the flight and cruise before contacting DFTW, so I kinda called too late to reserve the spot. :confused3

So likewise, my family & friends are all on our Disneymoon. That'll sure be fun!

Also, I have never been to Port Canaveral and I plan to rent a car - is it possible to drop my mom at a convenient place at the pier and go deal with returning the car myself? I assume that the rental agencies have shuttles, but I would like to avoid her having to go up and down the stairs of the bus.

Carol

You can drop your mom and the luggage off right at the terminal. The security people will direct you to the drop off area. You can then return your rental and meet your mom back at the terminal when you return on the shuttle. Avis and Budget have the shuttle service.

Also Dollar/Thrifty and possibly Hertz, though I haven't verified Hertz yet.

reneeaiko! I'm flying out of Seattle TG morning! We'll be at seatac the same day!

I'm so excited that I wake up at night too! I can't stop using exclamation marks!!!!!!

deep breath.... 3 days WOOOO

Well, our dog sitter (inlaws) backed out on watching our dog so we may have to kennal him for the 17 days we are gone. We were not planning that little expense.

Last night my nephew and I danced around the room to "The Final Countdown". Can't wait to get him on the dance floor. That kid has some moves.

cu Soon!

I just set up a private group room at Snapfish.com for us to share our cruise photos when we're back... you should be receiving an invite at the email address you provided on the info form.

I just read on another thread about a photo scavenger hunt... soooo on those days at sea, maybe we can all hunt for and take pics of those Hidden Mickeys that DisneyLady is sharing with us (it will be in your cruisers booklet that I'm making).

Betty/taxtracker: you are bringing Chrissy (sp?) too, right? You listed only Adriana on your form and I want to make sure I am including him on the lists if he is coming....

Also is your husband (William?) coming?

Hey all -- if you did not fill out the cruiser info form and emailed me instead, can you please email me again or fill out the form? I am afraid I'm going to miss somebody! The easiest way to capture all the info is to fill out the form as it's all archived in one place for me.

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks KarenNY and winotracy for the information. I couldn't sleep last night because I'm worried about logistics!

Hey elleluv - :welcome: to the DIS! I'm glad to see you signed up. This site is the best!

Joy - please let me know if you didn't receive my form.

Thanks,
Carol

I did get yours Carol... thanks! I know a few people emailed me updates and I am afraid I won't capture all the info! Not that it's do or die if it's not 100% accurate -- but I don't want anyone to think I forgot about them.
