12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

WOOHOO!!!! We love Alaskans! Tom and I will be in the bride and groom baseball caps. (teehee) My sister and her kids will also be on the flight. The kids are special needs (Asperger-boy 8 and ADHD-girl 7) so I appologize (big time) for any potential screaming or general misbehavior by them. They are pretty good most of the time but this level of excitement is unprecedented. Between the trip, Christmas, and both of their December Birthdays, things are crazy at times. (They are closer to the front though.) :)

Where are you staying? We are at the Pop Century.

I'm so excited!!!!! Tomorrow is heavy duty preparations!

WOOO... ~Erica

Okay Gang...We are officially in SINGLE Digits!!!!! 9 Days until our Disney Magic begins..... :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :hourglass
It was neat to read that our Alaska people will be on the same flight. Is anyone flying on Friday, Dec 5th at around 1:00 p.m. from Detroit, Michigan? If so that would be great. I will have MinLaw with me. The boys (DH and DS -Basil Fox) are not coming til later that night.
Joy, I went to get the envelope that you talked about. When I got to the store they had ONE envelope. It was Dis Lime Green.:disrocks: I think it was meant to be. Thanks again for the tip.:ccat:
Have a Magical :smickey: Day. ::MinnieMo LDprincess::wave2::rainbow:

Hey Erica~
We are staying at CBR our first night and then our package starts the next day and we are moving to ASMu until the cruise!!! :goodvibes I'm so excited and have so much to do that I can't believe I'm even checking the DIS!!:scared1: :lmao: :scared1: :lmao: :scared1: :lmao:
Well, I better get back to packing and I sincerely hope everybody makes it to Florida healthy and in time for the cruise!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :cheer2:

Were you able to find a good rate with Hertz? Did you use a discount code? I currently have a one-way from Tampa with Dollar for around $37, and one-way with Avis (after we disembark) for around $39. (Both are 1-day, small-car rentals). I think these are pretty good rates, but they are further away, right? Anyone know if these agencies are any good? (in terms of efficiency, quality, etc) :confused3

Oh yeah, and what pickup time do you DCL veterans use for car ressies (after the cruise)? The DCL agent on the phone said that everyone needs to be off the ship by 9:30am... is that true? I don't think I've ever seen a ship so efficient at disembarkation before. So I've been using 10am, but I have no idea. :)

Thanks!
Carol

I've always used Avis or Budget for my port rentals and have never had a problem with either.
I've used 9AM for the car rental on disembarkation day. If we are headed back to WDW, we try to get off the ship as early as possible. Usually we just eat at the buffet on the last morning as we've said good bye to our servers and table mates the evening before(I'm not a fan of the dining room menu on the last morning). If we're flying home that day, we take our time.

It sounds like a number of you are DCL veterans, so I have a few (potentially stupid) questions to ask...

- Do we have to pay for food on Castaway Cay? I had visions of everything being inclusive, but I see from the site that all the water toys and bikes cost money to rent, so I guess I'm living in a dream world.

- Will there be some people that wear "pirate" mouse ears on pirate night? I don't want to dress up, but it would give me an excuse to wear my ears.

- Are there any other themed nights besides Pirate Night? I thought someone on this thread mentioned 'Tropical' night (or something like that), but maybe it was referring to the same night.

- Is there an internet cafe in St. Thomas or St. Maarten close to the pier? I can't afford the ship's rates.

- I've prepaid my gratuities... will something be given to me that I can give to my servers that show this?

- We are two adults, will they pair us up with others for dinner? (we'd like this). I realized that the agent didn't ask about table size when I booked. We were given second seating.

Thanks!
Carol

Alcoholic beverages, yes. Food, no.

I've seen this many times before. We're going to Palo so no dressing up for pirate night for us.

- Are there any other themed nights besides Pirate Night? I thought someone on this thread mentioned 'Tropical' night (or something like that), but maybe it was referring to the same night.

Pirate night replaced Tropical night.

- Is there an internet cafe in St. Thomas or St. Maarten close to the pier? I can't afford the ship's rates.

Not certain, but I believe there is one in St. Thomas. Be careful in St. Maarten. I made a call once for a minute that cost me over $50!

- I've prepaid my gratuities... will something be given to me that I can give to my servers that show this?

When everyone else gets the form for suggested gratuities, you will get cards with the prepaid amounts already printed.

- We are two adults, will they pair us up with others for dinner? (we'd like this). I realized that the agent didn't ask about table size when I booked. We were given second seating.

Most likely. They rarely will seat you alone as a party of two unless you request this. We rarely indicate preference of table size unless the client requests a certain size. I've been at tables for 4, 6, 8, 10 and 14 before. Some I arranged, others were by chance.

Thanks!
Carol

Hi everyone! Happy Turkey Day!!! I have everything ready to go and just waiting for DH to get home so we can fry the turkey!

I'll be updating the website shortly here for anyone who wants to check it at the last minute. I'm also posting my cell phone # at the top of the page in case you need it. We are flying on the 3rd, arriving after 10 pm into MCO. We'll be shopping at Downtown Disney on the evening of the 4th if anyone is around and wants to meet up.

Safe travels to those of you on your way. I can't believe it's finally almost here!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Safe travels to everyone and we will see you soon.

The Butry Family

We're so excited. 4 days to leave! And a week till Cruise. :boat:

Can't sleep, can't concentrate on work and weirdest of all are the sudden burst of happiness with cravings to scream out "I'M GETTING HITCHED IN WALT DISNEY WORLD". :jumping3:

I'm not stressing out, but I'm definitely nervous for all the traveling. Even though I used the DCL packing list, I hope I don't forget anything for our FT wedding. Also the thought of the route with half a day of traveling and 3 hours flight Bonaire - Curacao - Miami - Orlando.
I’d understand if your feelings are mutual even for shorter trips. :goodvibes

All of you on the way or leaving soon have a safe trip. :thumbsup2

Q1: Are there any CD/DVD players in the staterooms or do I need to pack extra speakers for my mp3 player? :music:

Q2: We get married on the 5th. Do you think we're allowed to take some pictures in our wedding dress on the cruise?

7 days until the cruise!!!!!!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and all Comings and Goings were safe and there was much Family and Food. Oh, yes, I forgot.....Football!
Joy, I did not see where your cell phone number is listed?????
We will be at the Hampton Inn at the MCO airport on Friday night (Dec 5).
I am getting really geeked to think that a week from tomorrow we will be in Florida. Hopefully the temperature will be better than the 38 degrees that it was today!
Have a Magical Day. LDprincess:
