12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Great, thank you. I wasn't too sure if you were able to get back on the boat once you are on the island.

Should I assume everyone on this discussion board is going on the Dec 6th Eastern Cruise?

On this thread, yes. And yes, you can get off and on as often as you wish.

Welcome Mike!

Are your kids boys or girls? I've got a 9 yr old boy and 6 yr old girl... we're trying to figure out pre-cruise pen pals so they can get acquainted before the clubs.

I think we tender in St. Thomas, don't we? That's the only side of the whole back and forth on the ship...

I think sunscreen is always a safe bet, even in December. Remember you're closer to the equator down there.

Wow, My son is 8, my daughter is 6 years old today. I think we found some pre-cruise friends! I also have a son who is 3 as well. We have been counting the days since last year!!!

This our first cruise too.

Have you been on a Disney Cruise before?

Yes, we went on a 3 day in 2004 and a 7 day Western in 2006. You will LOVE it.

Those are my kids in my avatar. My son is into his Nintendo DS, Pokemon and Legos. Not so much on sports, lol, but he does love swimming.

My daughter loves Disney channel stars like Hannah Montana, Cheetah Girls, Zack and Cody... all the live action shows. She's kinda outgrowing the princess thing now. Happy birthday to yours! princess:

Oh and on eating when we're in port -- one thing you can do is bring a softsided cooler onboard. You can order sandwiches and snacks from room service (included!) and then pack it in your cooler for your shore excursions.

Wow! My son loves his into Nintendo DS and Pokemon (he is constantly 'evolving' whatever that means) .He isn't into sports either. He LOVES rock and roll. He plays guitar. My daughter LOVES the Cheetah Girls and Hannah Montana, Drake and Josh and iCarly. Sounds like a perfect match!

We are from NY. I think it is great to have the kids find some friends before the cruise. It would make it easier for them to adjust.

We are actually going to spend 3 days at the Animal kingdom before the cruise. My youngest son hasn't been to Disney World yet, so we wanted him to spend some time there. Then we are off to the cruise.

My son is such a spaz... he *thinks* he can dance. I LOVE it. He performs with so much pure GUSTO. You have to smile because he's so uncoordinated, yet he has no clue how he looks and he's just totally into it. I think our kids will get along famously :) Are you joining the DisCruisers google group?

We all need to start getting some info together on the Google Group!

Yea, I joined the google group yesterday and haven't heard back, so i guess I can't get in. Any way I can contact the admin?

Have you met anyone else who will be cruising with kids?

LOL - I AM the admin :) I didn't get a chance to check it yesterday though. I will get it taken care of!

Hey Cruisers,

I just realized that the Magic will be in Dry Dock for pretty much all of September. I wonder what will be new on the ship when it comes out in October, just in time for our cruise!

I have a question about the reservations that maybe someone can answer! I am a CC member, so I know I can make my plans starting Sept 7, but what about for my mom and sister? Their reservation is "linked" with mine, but does that mean I can schedule for them too? Or do they need to wait? Also, as my DSs are older, I have not had to make plans for the OL or OC - do you reserve those in advance, or just sign the kids up as you go? Thanks, everyone is so helpful!!:goodvibes

When you make your ressie you put the number of people in. It does not matter.

Hello fellow cruisers! Long time, no post. I did apply to the google group but I don't know if I am approved?:confused3 Is there a list of all the DISers on this cruise? Also, has anyone heard any rumors as to why our cruise is so full? We are trying to decide on a St. Thomas excursion..the Catamaran or Cpt. Nautica. Does anyone have any advice on either of these? Happy planning everyone:yay:

I have come to a conclusion... though I may be totally wrong....

Is it possible our cruise is not full but in actuality, empty?

I can't hardly find ANY evidence of our cruise on other message boards - no roll calls or anything... just our little group here on this thread.

If you look at one travel agency's booking -- it says "call us" on every category on our cruise. It also says "call us" on the cat 12 for another cruise - a category they typically deep discount.

So maybe it's not that our cruise is booked but that they are needing to fill it so badly that they can't even advertise how low the rates are.

Then again, I just pulled up our cat on the DCL website and it's well over $2000 more than when we early-booked :confused3

Well, I was just throwing an idea out there. Anyone with any sort of connections know anything?
