Another bump to the top.... :)

Q2 - Will you be staying at WDW before/after your cruise? and where?

Yes we are going to WDW not sure about before or after yet and we will stay at SSR. It all depends on son and school.

Q1 - have you cruised before? DCL or some other ship?

We've taken 1 cruise before - DCL Western - 12/3/05. For our 10th anniversary. We took our parents along as well to help us celebrate!

Other than that, I've taken day cruises around Greece, but they don't really count.

Hello everybody! I have come back to let you all know that we are now officially booked!!

Traveling will be myself, Lessa. I am 24 will be 25 by the time the cruise rolls around. Traveling with me will be my mother,Beth. She is 44, 46 at the time of the cruise.

We booked a Cat 6 verandah, Rm 6616. This is right next to the aft elevators. We decided on the late dining as we did not want to feel rushed getting ready for dinner on our port days.

We will most likely be visiting WDW before the cruise so that we can enjoy the holiday activities. Not sure where we are staying yet, hoping for the Wilderness Lodge!

Welcome! Good to have you along. We are also a cat 6- midship though.
Late dining.

Welcome!

We really thought hard about upgrading to a Cat 6 about a month ago and 6616 was the room we were looking at. We love the locations right near the aft elevators. :)

It was a struggle for a while to decided between a Cat 6 and a Cat 9 because of the price difference but mom really wanted a verandah so we eventually decided to splurge. It's our first cruise so why not!

6616 looks to be a really good location and I had read favourable reviews on it. I love that I can just walk out of the room and straight onto an elevator that will take me right up to all the action.

So I thought I would go through and answer all of Joy's questions. I will answer one every day so as to keep this thread on the first page. Got to make sure other DISers on the cruise can find us!

Q1 - have you cruised before? DCL or some other ship?

We have never cruised before. Cruising just never seemed all that appealing to us until we started to learn about DCL! All the onboard activities look like so much fun and the shows look spectacular. The pictures I have seen of the Magic are gorgeous! I can not wait to see it in person.

We love our verandah's! We couldn't sail without one.
Enjoy.

Yes we are and I am really excited about it! We will probably be arriving on the 1st (Monday) and I am hoping to stay at the Wilderness Lodge although that has not been decided on yet. We may just decide to go cheap since we are already paying for the cruise and stay at a Value. That decision is still a while away though.

We plan on going to all the parks to see all the special things they have going on for the holiday like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the Candlelight Processional, Osbourne Light Show.

Can you tell I am excited?

Q3 - Which port are you most looking forward to visiting on this cruise?

We are looking forward to all of them it is just to hard to decide. :goofy: :stitch: :mickeyjum

Q3 - Which port are you most looking forward to visiting on this cruise?

Hmmm, That is a tough one. I would probably rank them in this order even though I can not wait to visit all of them.

1)St Thomas
2)Castaway Cay
3)St Maarten

I have always wanted to go to the Virgin Islands ever since I was a kid. It probably stems from the time I saw Weekend at Bernies 2 (I know it is a terrible movie but I was a kid and loved it) It took place in the Virgin Islands and I knew that I had to go there. Not to mention I have been looking at pictures and I can not wait to visit Trunk Bay, it looks absolutely gorgeous! I would also love to go up to Paradise Point if the time allows but I guess I will just have to wait and play that one by ear.

Castaway Cay will be great as it is so Disney and we have the island to ourselves so there will be no competing with cruisers from other cruise lines who are also at the same port. Castaway Cay just looks so beautiful and peaceful and it should be a fun day to just hang out on the beach. I may even try parasailing! Not to mention I can't wait to get my picture taken with all the characters in their beach gear:banana: :rotfl:

St Maarten also looks very beautiful. I most likely will not be visiting a beach at this port as I don't know how comfortable I am with the whole clothing optional thing, especially since I am traveling with my mother. I don't know if this is the same with the rest of you but there is just something very awkward about watching a movie or tv show with nudity or sex scenes with your parents no matter how old you are. I imagine that I would get that same awkward feeling going to a nude beach with my mother. :lmao: We will most likely do the island tour or visit the butterfly farm.

So overall each port has its charm and I can not wait to visit them!

Q4 - Are you early/late dinner seating, and why did you choose that?

We chose late dining. We did not want to feel rushed getting ready for dinner on the days we were in port. Late dining also fits better with when we usually eat dinner. 5:30 is just so early. Also by getting to see the show before dinner we have something to talk about with our tablemates in the chance that conversation does not flow well.

Q5 - Which cabin category (or room # if you requested it) are you staying in? Why did you pick that? What do you love about that location?

We booked a Category 6 stateroom and chose stateroom 6616. I picked it as it had good reviews (ie not noisy, convienent, great view from balcony of ports) and it is also right across from the Aft elevators. This will be really convienent for getting up to the pools and to grab a quick snack or a drink from the drink station.

Q6 - (okay, not really a question) - Show me pictures of your family!!!!!

Here is mom aka Beth to the rest of you!

And here I am with my two brothers Erich and Alek who will sadly not be joining us on this trip as they have school/exams.

When we booked we booked early but then changed to late. We have never been on a 7 night Disney Cruise so I hope we made the right choice.:dance3:
