12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Hi M&M
Pull up a chair and tell us a little bit about yourself! Welcome!!

Becka - see, I told you the midwest would be well represented! Tana is not coming on this cruise though.... they are doing a 15th anniversary trip in early 2009 instead :(

Thanks for the welcome Becka & Bubbasmom99.

We have only cruised with Disney on a 3 & 4 night cruise, not long enough looking forward to a 7 night cruise. We hope to have family joining us but for now its only myself, DH and DS 12. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome M&M,

It is nice to meet you. We have only been on 3 - 4 night cruises too and are also looking forward to our 1st 7 night cruise in 2008. :cool1: We look forward to getting to know you and your family.

Vicki

Hi Mvlimmex,

We almost went for the DD also but I realy wanted to try the Eastern. And thanks for the welcome. Looking forward to all the planning before 12/6/08.

I am being really bad. I need to plan our November WDW trip but for some reason I just can't get into it. I think part of the problem is that I love planning what restaurants we are going to try but with DS's recent food allergy diagnosis the food part just stresses me out. Plus I really would almost rather plan this cruise...it seems less complicated right now and sounds more relaxing. I am really looking forward to the ports...this will actually be the first cruise where I will even get off at a port other than CC. :)

Are you on early or late dining rotation?

Bubbasmom99 We have the late rotation right now.

Is anyone going to WDW before or after the cruise?

Unfortunately no WDW before or after the cruise for us. DS will be missing 6 days of school as it is and we just can't have him miss anymore than that. We are doing WDW this year for a week so hopefully that will tide us over until 2009 when we can go back to the parks.

If this 7 day cruise goes better than our last I can see us trying to alternate years with the parks and a cruise so that means after this cruise we can cruise again in 2010 unless we decide to do a 3/4 day cruise with a few park days in '09.

We will probably go to MK and MGM before the cruise... we did a full week pre-cruise last time and it was too long of a vacation for our kids... they were on character overload by the end of the cruise....

I updated the 1st post -- Vicki, I need to know your dining rotation... M&M, how about a name and your room #?

As we get closer to the sailing and add on more members, I'll set up a separate private website where we can share more info with each other :)

Becka - do you think Nathan will fit into a size 7 by this cruise? I still have Nick's tuxedo....

It is very possible he will be a size 7 for this next cruise. He is in a 5 right now. I might have to buy it from you just so I would have one for him. We skipped formal night this last cruise but I think it is something I would like to do for this next one.

I will hang on to it, then... No you don't have to "buy" it from me! I just want to pass it along to someone else who can use it... Formal night was fun -- I loved all our pics (well, once the kids actually smiled!).

Thanks! I promise if we can use it I will then pass it on to another DISer with a little boy. :)

I remember seeing your formal pic on our other thread (or maybe on the snapfish account) and you all looked so nice. I would love to see my boys all dressed up in tuxes. The last time DH wore one was for our wedding. :)

We are probably not going to be going to the parks before or afterwards, but if we do find some time, (it is hard because my daughter will be in 5th grade and I don't want her to miss too much school) we will probably go to MK. The kids have been wanting to go there. I would rather go to DL, but don't know if we will be able to get out to California anytime soon.

We are on 2nd rotation for dining too. Since we have never done a 7 night cruise, how formal is formal night, as well as semi formal night? Does everyone really dress up fancy in tuxedos, or will a very nice dress outfit do. Being only on the 3 - 4 night cruises, we haven't had to worry so much about what to wear.

Vicki

We don't get much opportunity to dress up so we dressed up alot for formal night... but my husband doesn't normally wear a suit and the one he had didn't fit, so he just wore shirt/tie/khaki's on semi-formal night. On formal night, a suit and nice dress wouldn't stand out at all...

Bubbasmom99

We are in room 8534 and DS is 12 now so will be 14 on the cruise.

Tamara

Just bumping us back up so we don't get lost.

It looks like I am the only one in early dining so far. I just can't imagine eating as late as 8:30 especially with the kids. Maybe we should switch, feed the kids early and then DH and I can enjoy a late dinner each night? :scratchin ;)
