12/6/07...Anyone with us?

Thanks for the b'day wishes! It isn't until 10/30, but I don't mind celebrating early! :thanks:

Oh man....never trust your computer to remind you of stuff......off to check my 'contacts' folder and fix that puppy!

.

edited: well, interresting, 'contacts' had the 23rd (clicked too high on the calender I guess), so don't know why I got a notification for last week? cue spooky music here.....................

Whew! I thought I was really late with the birthday wishes. I'm sure Sarah will send you a virtual party next week, Janice.:)

Can anyone tell me what the dress code is for men and women at Palo's? How strict are they?

Thanks!

For brunch they do insist on long pants for men. A guy who showed up in shorts was politely asked to go back to his stateroom and put on long pants. A nice golf shirt or dress shirt is also required (something with a collar, no t-shirts).
I wore black slacks and a nice blouse at the brunch.
We haven't eaten dinner there, but I think they require jackets for men. I'm sure someone will comment.

Tikihula's Palo info is spot on. I've worn slacks and a blouse or a skirt and a blouse for brunch and dinner. I usually dress things up a bit with heels for dinner, sandals for brunch. DH wears jacket and tie for evening dinner, but a nice shirt with jacket is fine. For brunch he normally wears a golf shirt and slacks. They don't allow jeans.

...I'm going on vacation.....I'm going on vacation.......

Returned Monday night from a long weekend at WDW with my Disney buddy Karen, a girls-only trip. We found out Thursday night when we arrived that our home town had been hit by a couple of tornadoes, which is unheard of in October, and fairly rare at any time of year, although we frequently have warnings. The tornado went right downtown and tore up some buildings, but nobody was seriously injured, thank goodness.

We had a great time on our commando trip, despite some rain, high heat and humidity, and we had a blast at MNSSHP Sunday evening. The fireworks were great and the Halloween Parade was awesome! We sat on the curb by the front of the Magic Kingdom and the CMs kept coming by and dropping handfuls of candy into our trick-or-treat bags. I had been looking forward to seeing the Headless Horseman, but he didn't make his run - I guess the rain earlier made it too slick for the horse. A CM told us they are training two new horses for the parade.

Now it's on to the detailed planning for our December cruise and parks visit. Can't wait to check out the new AKV after the cruise, renting points from a DVC member.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Alright, another Park Commando!!!!:cool1:

Glad you had fun and that noone was hurt back home.

Hey, what do y'all think of this? In September, before I even booked THIS cruise, I got the standard excursions info/mailing from DCL for my Christmas cruise. Now that I've swapped out the holiday cruise for this Wonder, I've gotten nada. zip. zilch. Hmmm, although maybe that's because it's all the same info in the mailer anyway?:confused3

:scared: Now for today's Moment of Angst: As Queen of Indecision, I'm tempted by that low Atlantis price for the kids and my Mom, but I'm resistant due to (1) unknown/uncertain temperatures/weather (even an avg high of low 70s don't cut it as 'warm' in my book!) (How did I ever survive college years in Buffalo???!!!); (2) we're only on the ship 2 1/2 days, why spend that long away from it and (3) we'll have just Park Commando'd for 5 straight days...do we really need a water park?

So, the nays outweigh the yay, BUT....the yay is "AN AWESOME DEAL' and it kills me to let AN AWESOME DEAL go by!!!! Curses, you Internet Specials!
:headache:

Woo Hoo!!!! I ordered the twins' Park Hoppers tonight!!!:woohoo: Nothing like shelling out $1000 bucks to make your vacation seem a reality!:rotfl:

okay. so this was a shameless bump to get us off - what - page 12??? Y'all better be up to some fun and exciting things these days...or just busy packing for December!:thumbsup2

 :cheer2: Getting excited!!! (can you tell?!):yay: :dance3:

Yeah Jen! Except for my park ticket, I've got everything covered for this trip. Got a $100 Disney gift card and about $96 in Disney rewards to cover 'incidentals'. Got a stateroom credit to cover my cruise tips too!

I'm still feeling the call to buy a longer, no exp ticket though....can't decide if I should :confused3

Now I just have get my 'park training' plan going...time's a wasting!

  That means you really have to go now! Wish we were going today, well, maybe not today, since I am not packed yet. Guess I better remember where I stashed the luggage. pixiedust:

uh, yeah right, Linda. I can tell you where you stashed the luggage...it's on your bedroom floor, still waiting to be unpacked from your Med Repo!!!!:rotfl: I know, like you I figured that by now Ed would've depleted looking in there for clothes every morning, but I did hear you packed an awful lot...just in case...:rolleyes1

:rotfl: Stop ratting me out!

You have me confused with Pat. I don't think she has any chest of drawers. Just lots of those folding suitcase holders like you get in hotel rooms. And she probably has a different color of luggage for each destination. Blue for Aruba, green for cruising, pink for Lake Tahoe, purple for Mexico. And poor Tom (Pat's DH)just gets the black plastic trash bags.:lmao: ;)

Hey - We are Florida residents! THANKS for posting this. I've emailed my travel agent, who should have caught this already! :confused3

You're welcome. I knew there was someone from this group who was and didn't even take a second to double check....just wanted to get that link posted right away!

...OMH, just looked at my post count....better "plan" where and what post 7,000 will be!....

Does anyone know if the Fla rates are actually posted anywhere? I'd like to take a look w/o having to contact a TA right away. TIA!
