12/6/07...Anyone with us?

Hi kids!

Well, I'm a very happy camper today....DreamsUnlimited just increased my stateroom credit on my PC cruise! (Don't tell Peg...she'll cry.) They DOUBLED it, so the $100 PC tax DCL just added is covered and there's enough left over for lots of mocha lattes or BBC's!

Peg is in Santa Barbara right now with hubby and dogs and they are very much enjoying the cool temps! Two more weeks and it's the Rocky Mts for me! :thumbsup2

Regarding WDW group dinner....I'm betting we won't be able to get a reservation at this late date for an alternate night. For SURE we should keep the Sunday one. Peg & I have good travel Karma....so I"m not worried (right now anyway ;) about not getting there in time).

Oh, DEE I don't know what's going on in DL in Sept to make them sell out...I mean there is nothing special going on that I know about.

OK...time to head home and throw a steak on the old George Forman.

2 more weeks till mom dad aunt debbie and i take the magic home from the med:beach: 6 days crossing the alantic to castway cay the back home

:santa: :santa: :santa: It is Christmas in July as we are now paid in full! We even added an extra trip to Disneyland at Thanksgiving to get us in the mood.

A quick trip report for the trip we took to Disneyland in June.........

We got to experience a few new things this time around in CA. We tried the VIP tour. It was great as VIP services made all our reservations. We got into all the restaurants we wanted. got to ride in the "Lily Belle" (Lilian Disney's private train car, and we got VIP seating at every parade + fireworks show at Disneyland and California Adventure. To top it off, one of my vendor contacts took us to dinner at Club 33! What an experience! The food was terrific and getting to look at all the neat things inside was even better. I was even able to purchase a shirt, keychain and coffee mug with the Club 33 logo on them. We stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel the first two nights, but had to switch to the Disneyland hotel on the third night as the GCH was fully booked. I would definately recommend staying at the Grand Californian. It was done by the same architect that built the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Wilderness Lodge at WDW.

Some Scoop..........While in CA, I was informed of many things to come......
1) They will be adding on to the Grand Californian Hotel to bring the first DVC property to the west coast.
2) They will be completely renovating the Disneyland Hotel (it needs it).
3) They have approved, but not announced, a major investment into the CA property. They will be going back in to "fix" CA Adventure to the way the imagineers wanted to do it in the first place and they will be adding some of the best rides / areas / lands from Disney Sea in Japan. The Disney Sea stuff will either be at CA Adventure or part of the 3rd park (not named yet). They may even bring some Epcot type attractions there (World Showcase). If you have been reading the news in Southern CA lately, you will know about all the fuss between Disney, the Anaheim city council and some real estate developers who want to build low-income housing next to the land for the third park.
4) They have abandoned plans to take over the Queen Mary resort area and build there, but they are still going to do something to welcome a permanent west coast Disney ship (new terminal or something like the one in FL).
5) Plans have been approved for Disney to open up "mini resorts" around the country. They will be fully themed hotels with some rides, some attractions, some shopping, DVC sales centers and be a new "entry point" experience to all things Disney.

Exciting Stuff!

Also, while in CA, we did get to ride the new Monsters Inc ride which was nice and visit Pirate Island. All the favorites were ridden (small world, Dumbo, Carousels (there are 2 between the parks), winnie the pooh, pirates, teacups, tiki room, all the rides in It's a Bugs Land, etc. - are you seeing a pattern here? well, we do have a 2 1/2 year old. You will like her when you meet her on the cruise! We couldn't get near the Nemo Submarine ride (2 1/2 hour wait at least and no Fast Pass).

3LVDisney - I heard the new AKL villas are very nice....I will be at SS with Hannosmom and chichihoney....we might have to come by for a tour!
I visited DL for one day on May 2005 - looking forward to a return trip next year before the PC cruise.
What is club 33?

Sarah - my countdown clock is in the TEENs....

Jackie - glad to hear u got that increased room credit - I wish I was getting it, too!

Hello 3LVDisney, Wow you lucky duck! you got in to "CLUB 33" that must have made your trip!
Thanks for the Disneyland trip report and sneak peaks, my wife and I just love DL we thought we would never get there until DW had a meeting in Anaheim in 2004 since then we have been there two more times including the opening for the 50th Anniversary May 4th 2005 the only time Disneyland was ever closed to the public. DW won tickets for that what a great trip that was.

You are right Grand Cali is so beautiful to see and stay at, we stayed for two nights back in 2004.
We hope to get back maybe in the spring for a few days and can't wait to try the Nemo sub ride maybe by than the wait time will down to two hours lol.

Well thanks again for the adventure report.

tHAT MUST HAVE BEEN GREAT TO BE IN THERE ON THAT SPECIAL DAY....oops!
I was there on Friday, May 6th - only my second visit - first in 1984 and then in 2005 for my 25th anniversary trip to CA.

pat, are you going on this cruise too?

my health issues are still going strong, several weeks back i had an upper gi with lower bowel series, last week a ct scan and this week i get to have an ultra sound :( i dont know why they cant just give me all tests at one time!

have any of you seen the previews for fat march? it starts on monday and it is a group of overweight adults that walk from mass to washington dc - there is a guy on there named michael and he will be on our 10/2008 cruise - which should make the show more fun to watch

see you all soon!
:surfweb:

3LVDIsney, sounds like you had a great DL trip!

I was at a charity breakfast at Club 33....what a treat! Did you or your wife make it into the "Throne" room? ;)

My wife had to change the baby's diapers at Club 33. Since there was no convenient place, our waiter, Eric, blocked off the foyer to the women's throne room and even made a makeshift changing table for her there. The staff was very nice! The men's "throne room" was nice, but was nothing spectacular. We have a good chance to get in again in November when we are there. We are bringing my wife's parents (the same ones you will meet on the cruise), so we are crossing our fingers that we can make it happen.

Hello shipmates, I have a quick question for you.
How does the dinning rotation work?
Is it by cabin numbers and by first seating and second seating?
When do you find out ? when you get finally documents?
How many people are seated at your table?

Just wondering how this all works. The only cruises I've taken have been with NCL America with there free style dinning, eat where and when you want.

Thanks for all your help.

With all this talk about dinning......I'm getting a little hungry!!!

Bob, you get your rotation assignemnts when you check in (they will be on your Key To The World (KTTW) card. Each seating (Main and Late) rotate through the three restaurants. Assuming you have late seating (for this demonstration ;) ) The first seating is at 8PM and would be TAP (Triton/Animators Palate/Parrot Cay), the next is at 8:15 and the last at 8:30. The early or main seating times tend to shift a little, so I'm not sure about those...could be 5:30, 5:45, 6P or 6P, 6:15P, 6:30p...something like that (never done early).

DCL tends to group people by the ages of the people in their party. So people with children tend to sit with people with children. They tend to assign adult only staterooms to the latest of the seatings, so you generally see fewer children (especially little ones) at the 8:30 or 6:30 seatings. This isn't an exact science, and if you have a party of more than four, you may not be at a table with other people.

You can 'request' a specific rotation or a table to yourselves on your reservation. If you don't get what you want, you can go to the designated location upon boarding and try to have your seating changed.

:cheer2: pirate: FOUR MONTHS FROM TODAY! pirate: :cheer2:

Peg and I will arrive at WDW to start this adventure with y'all!
