12/31/08 Wonder for New Year's Eve

Mark- where did you hear this?
I just looked at DCL at our ressie to see if they moved our plans and it still shows Nassau on 1/1/09.

But you know- I have been wondering, and asking, about New Year's Day since we booked this cruise back in 2007!

We kind of figured we'd stay on board since it was New Year's and a holiday.

Also, if they move our "at sea" day to Saturday, we may end up with 2 Palo ressies (brunch and dinner) on the same day!?!?
I wonder how much juggling of the reservations we have all made is up to us, or done for us? It has the potential to be quite a mess!

I was canalizing a thing at the Vista spa. and this what poped up...(its for my wife)

Day 1 - Port Canaveral
Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Day 2 - Castaway Cay
Thursday, January 1, 2009

Elemis Exotic Hand Ritual with Manicure3:15PM - 4:00PM
Elemis Sole Delight Foot Treatment with Pedicure4:00PM - 4:55PM

Day 3 - Nassau
Friday, January 2, 2009

Day 4 - At Sea
Palo Dinner7:30PM

Day 5 - Port Canaveral
Sunday, January 4, 2009

Last year they moved the day we were in Nassau too. The whole place is shut down for NY apparently.

I like having the sea day last, usually because it gives you time to pack and relax, but last year it was freezing! You couldn't even go outside and the seas were very rough! The day at Castaway was nice and so was Nassau. The previous year we also had to cooler days--I'm hoping for better weather this year!!

Here's what on my "My Cruise Plans" page this morning:

Day 1 - Port Canaveral - Wednesday, December 31, 2008 No activities reserved.
Day 2 - Nassau - Thursday, January 1, 2009 No activities reserved.
Day 3 - At Sea - Friday, January 2, 2009 Palo Brunch 10:00AM
Day 4 - Castaway Cay - Saturday, January 3, 2009 Parasailing 11:00AM12:00PM Palo Dinner 8:00PM
Day 5 - Port Canaveral - Sunday, January 4, 2009

Nothing has changed.
I think I'll call DCL today and see what they say- I'll report back later.

** UPDATE**
I called DCL and they still have the original itinerary in the system. BUT... she said it may very well change- even as late as the day we get to Port. We just have to watch and see if they announce anything prior to sailing, and check our Palo ressies and excursions once we check in.
I think I'm OK with this. Sure is curious though...

I think we were in Nassau NYE last year - I remember trying to see their fireworks from the ship that night. Nassau has their big Junkanoo festival on New Year's - if the itinerary has changed maybe it has something to do with that.

Will get my TA to check- somehow she always gets the scoop.

I like that itinerary! Except for wanting to be out on CC early, and it being New Year's Day! ;) (so much for sleeping in). And I like what Beth said about being able to pack on the last day at sea.

Even today- mine does not show any changes. Que sera, sera!

Has anyone gotten their cruise docs in the mail yet?

When I talked to them last week, The Docs were printed. Docs will get mailed 2-3 weeks before the Cruise.

Any chance cruise documents would be mailed a bit early due to the volume of holiday mail??? Could everyone please post when they receive their documents, so the rest of us know when to start watching???!!! Thanks!

From the Magic board (the other new years Cruise thread) They got there docs today. They leave 3 days ealyer than us.

If Magic has their docs, then I am assuming we should be watching out for ours...we should be next!!

Hi! I am new to the boards, but definitely not new to Disney or Disney cruising. We've been fans of WDW since 1990 and became DVC members in 2001. This will be our fifth Disney cruise and I wanted to reply because I have a son who will be almost 12 by cruise time and he also struggles to meet friends. His name is Kyle, so maybe we could try to hook them up at some point and see how it goes. He enjoys video gaming in the Lab so maybe they could hang there. We are sure getting excited about our upcoming cruise! Take care, Michele from Missouri

Does everyone for the FE have their room assignment now? I imagine all rooms are assigned since docs are coming. None here yet though.

Brandon would be happy to meet up with someone. You can pm me about a place, or I can send you his cell phone number-he'll have it on the first day-do you have early or late dinner?

Our documents came-but they weren't documents-only luggage tags and no Bahamas immigration form.

all my docs are here :) yeaa lol I thought we filled out the Bahamas forms at the port.

:cool1: We got ours today too! :cool1:

I wouldn't know if they were complete or not- this is our first time!

But I did notice that the itinerary still says Nassau- Sea- CC (still so curious to me!):confused3

We got 2 envelopes (one for each stateroom)- delivered 4 hours apart by UPS. This is what is in them:
A checklist
A Formal Wear order form (I thought they didn't do that on the Wonder?)
A bright orange card reminding everyone to bring proof of citizenship
A "Travel booklet"
2 luggage tags per person

If we completed all the documents online- what in the booklet do we have to do?

This makes it all seem so much more "real" now! Whoo Hoo! 16 more days!!
(oh- and I hear the gangplank is fixed too! :woohoo: )

DH picked our docs up from TA this afternoon. We have same as WDWSOCOUT, except we do not have a "checklist" Now it is getting excited!! Our DD's still do not know about this part of our trip! We are going to tell them Xmas morning!:yay: :yay:
Our iternary included from our TA still lists Nassau on 1/1, At Sea on 1/2, Cast Away Cay on 1/3. Anyone have anything different???

Beth,
We have late dining. We could arrange a meeting at the Oceanear's lab on Wednesday? I'm sure Kyle will want to check out the Wii there. ;o) I'm brand new to the Dis boards so I'm not sure how to PM. Sorry.

~Michele

*bump*

Anyone else get their cruise docs yet?
Or their stateroom assignments?

:cool1: 13 more days!! :cool1:
