12/31/08 Wonder for New Year's Eve

I just saw the cruise count down-1-1-1. I can't believe it is almost here!
Everyone start crossing your fingers for good weather!

I have been wondering the same thing! Thanks for asking.
I definitely want Shadow to be a part of this too! :thumbsup2

Toys will be fine, Shadow is on a diet, treats will upset his tummy. (on the boat is not a good thing)

Room for 2 more? I will be bringing my niece for her annual birthday cruise on the Magic.

Lisa (39)
Kaylee (will be 10)

We are from Austin Texas, Late seating and still in GTY

We love doing FE, but if it's too late - no worries.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oops - my bad - that was last year - we ARE on the WONDER with you guys this year. My 2 cents on FE - this summer on Mexican Riviera Cruise we had about 16 cabins and did something every day - i had to bring an extra suitcase and it wound up happening each night wayyyy late. It also takes a while(although good exercise after dinner)to hand everything out - it was fun the first few days, but then not so much after that. On the cruise before that we just did it one day - comparing the 2, that was more fun. There will be sooo much to cram into 4 days on this cruise, it might be easier to do one day - especially if we wind up with 19 cabins.

Just my thoughts.

Lisa- glad to hear you actually are on the Wonder!
I will add you to post #1 on the first page.

I was thinking having gifts for every night on a 7 night cruise- and lots of participants- would be overwhelming! I believe we are letting everyone decide for themselves how they want to approach this. (Is that a good idea? or should we have a "rule"?)

I think we will have to come up with a cut off for adding more people to the fish extender- maybe in another week- Dec 5th sound OK?

I think it's fine to leave it up to each person. A cut-off is good too.

Anyone at WDW before the cruise?

We are at WDW at the VWL for 2 days before.

I think we should limit it to 1 or2 nights- the last night is too hectic and with the first night being NY eve, do you really want to run all over the ship?

Is everyone doing something for each person in the cabin, or just for the cabin as a whole? I am not crafty or creative, so I will be stressing over what to get.

Hi BethA we will be at BWI for a few days before - how are you guys getting to the port?
You are so right - the first day always seems quite hectic anyway - so maybe the middle 2 days would be best. I don't "create" anything - although we have received many cool creative things - will probably just do something for adults and something for kids - guess it all depends on the final tally of rooms.

We got our room assignment today!

Stateroom 2508.....Does anyone know if it has 2 windows or 1?

We are using Florida Tours- a van for all of us-to get to the port and then to the airport after.

Are we set on the number of rooms involved in the FE? I want to get all that ready and would hate to not have enough?
Are the rooms listed on the first page those participating?

Yes- everyone who answered the call out for Fish Extender participation is listed on Page 1.

We are officially closed now to new participants.

That way we can all finalize the numbers of items we are bringing.
We are only 27 days away from sailing!!! :cool1: And we have Christmas/Hanukkah in there too!!

So here are the totals:
Staterooms = 10
Adults = 16
"Kids" (18-21) = 4
Teens = 1
Tweens = 2
Kids = 5
Dog= 1

28 people in all. The particulars- most names and ages- are also on page 1.

If anyone has any questions, ideas or wants to share their plans- feel free.
I get the feeling almost all of us are totally new at this (including me!). We can use all the help we can get! :)

I think Joy & I we will do 1 gift per/person for the whole trip. (packing room) lol

We will also be doing one gift per person for the trip. Packing room is a big issue for us!
Why did they switch our Nassau/Cast Away Cay days?? Will this affect any shore excursion times we have already booked? Or will the shore excursions just be transferred to the new day, same time??
We are getting closer and closer every day!

Yes they will. i think, nassau is shut down on the 1st. This is a guess

Mark- where did you hear this?
I just looked at DCL at our ressie to see if they moved our plans and it still shows Nassau on 1/1/09.

But you know- I have been wondering, and asking, about New Year's Day since we booked this cruise back in 2007!

We kind of figured we'd stay on board since it was New Year's and a holiday.

Also, if they move our "at sea" day to Saturday, we may end up with 2 Palo ressies (brunch and dinner) on the same day!?!?
I wonder how much juggling of the reservations we have all made is up to us, or done for us? It has the potential to be quite a mess!
