12/30/2011 8 Night Magic New Year's Eve Celebration!

I just can't wait! :dance3: Even DH is getting excited, he tends to try and block out the cruise talk until around the 30 day mark. He says he can't stand the waiting and anticipation much more than that, so he just lets me take my DISboards therapy! :rotfl2:

Heh heh! I know the feeling. I try not to think about it too much because it makes the waiting so much longer. But it's pretty much the 30 day mark, so I decided it was time to meet everyone who's going to be on the ship. I find that chatting on the board is almost an extension of my vacation, really, and makes it part of the fun. :-)

BTW, are there any photographers here? Florida, despite all the awesome shots you can get of Disney and the various parks, isn't really all that great for photography (Even the beaches are covered in cars, and not all that interesting to shoot...). So I end up looking forward to cruises almost as much for the photography as I do the vacation...

Just a few more weeks until we leave!!!! So excited for this cruise I was so sick on the last one that I am so excited about the Christmas cruise and this cruise. Just had a four day break for thanksgiving which was nice. spent the time with family decorating and shopping. Even though we will not be here we still decorate our pet sitter enjoys it. Our cruise documents showed up the Friday after thanksgiving. I know there is nothing in them that we need but they make the cruise that much closer.

We have all the old cruise promotional DVDs to get us in the mood. Now that I think about it, it's been a while since I popped those in... Probably time to pull them out, again. :-)

:thumbsup2 I wouldn't call myself a "photographer", per se, but I'm ALWAYS the one attached to the camera. It's just something I play with. I LOVE cruising and travel in general...you never know when you'll get that perfect perspective or fantastic view. And DCL is great for candids...there's always something magical going on!

Doing the docs dance.  We received our cruise docs a couple days ago.

I was hoping to have all my Christmas shopping done by December 1st, so I can sit back and enjoy the season and get ready for the cruise. I didn't get much done over the weekend. I might just be shopping Cyber Monday to see what I can get done online. :thumbsup2

Time till cruise is ticking down quickly! :hourglass Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Ours came yesterday, but sad to say no upgrade:sad:

I can always try after we sail away.

With the FE's are we doing a general theme or holiday?:confused3

Just to get us in the "Disney Sprit" we are doing a short visit to the house of mouse this weekend.

see you real soon

Our cruise documents arrived today!

That wonderful booklet with all of the cruise information was waiting for me when I got back from my (SNOWY) Vermont Thanksgiving.

We received our documents, two luggage tags each and our room assignment.

:dance3::cool1: Add me to the documents dance list! Only 30 days until we fly into sunny Florida!!!:dance3::cool1:

Question for those of us staying at the Hyatt/meeting at Starbucks, if anyone else is taking the DCL transfers. I've been reading that people have sometimes checked in at the Disney desk as early as 8-8:30. I know that now, the first bus should be leaving right around 10am for the port, since it doesn't open until 11...when is everyone planning on getting to the desk for check in? :confused3 I know it's probably strange but although I will be smiling, I'm not really going to be relaxed until I'm on the ship and certain it's not sailing without me! :scared1:

The desk opens up around that time but all the desk does (from the last time we left from the hotel) was check in for the transportation only, not the cruise. After we checked in, we just sat there and waited to be escorted to the bus. So it is up to you on what time you want to check in.

I can't believe that the last time I had on my tux was 5 years ago and it still fits. :cool1: The last time I took it on a cruise was 10 years ago, back when people got dressed up on formal night. Would it be wrong to wear it with sandals...:lmao:

According to the most recent posts I found, from someone on the 11/12 sailing, they were able to check in for the cruise at the airport, get their lanyards and KTTW card, and boarding number. From what I've read, this is only if you are taking DCL transfers; if you're not, you still check in at the port. It's new since we last cruised with Disney, not sure when it was implemented. I forget what thread it was on - I think it was one about the Hyatt MCO.

That's awesome about your tux! :thumbsup2 I dragged out my formal - which I haven't worn in about 5 years either :lmao: - and it *almost* fit. Had to buy a new dress...:rolleyes1 Of course, not to be outdone, DH had to have a new suit, too. :sad2: Oh well, excuse to go shopping! :woohoo:

I just called DCL and it is what I thought. When you take the happy bus:banana: to the mickey boat:banana::banana: from the Hyatt, you have to check in at the port. I am sure my wife will buy something beautiful for the cruise.

29.5 days till mickey boat:cool1:

Already have 2 gowns ready & waiting...

We are also getting very excited! Going this weekend to find something for NYE!!! I started my little "items not to forget" list, makes me feel better if i write it down. I have the recurrent dream of forgetting passports or documents etc! Can't wait!!!

I have so many things left to do between now and then that it's hard to think about much of ANYTHING, yet. Once Christmas is over, the cruise is totally going to broadside me. :-)

Hi Everyone: Just wanted to update everyone that the final FE list has been sent to each of you via a PM message. Thanks for being patient with me. I have been swamped with work and such. I did not make to second interviews on any of those job interviews but those of you that are teachers know ho competitive these events are so it is not my time yet. However the process was great practice and next time will be the one hopefully! Anyway now I am in the thick of grading final papers for six college reading and composition classes. I just want to concentrate on making my FE gifts and packing. So I have been multitasking and do some of each as much as possible keeping my eye on the horizon looking forward to our sea day meets. See you soon!

If anyone did not receive their information just let me know I will send it right out!:santa::dance3::rotfl:

 Question for all the helpful FE veterans...I plan on checking at the port to see if there are any upgrades available - you never know when you can grab some extra pixie dust! :wizard: But, should any of us get a little magic upgrade, how would we let the rest of the FE know of the change in room assignments? :confused3

You can let each know either by calling their staterooms or by spreading the word at the dis meets. You can always call my stateroom and then I will ask some one to help spread the word through the dis meets. However I think calling staterooms is the easiest. We have 17 on the list so it would not take that long to leave a message. :dance3::santa: Either way is fine. Just let me know.:cheer2:

I LOVE the idea about calling staterooms to leave a message. The first time we did FE's we had to switch rooms and missed out on LOTS of gifts. We found a couple at our original room and left everyone a note, but still came out short. We always put out our magnets and FE bag instantly so that our room is easily identifiable. Getting VERY excited!!

:thumbsup2 Calling the other staterooms is a great idea! Never would have thought of it...duh! :sad2:

I'm getting so excited for this trip...the suitcases are open and starting to be filled!!! :cool1:
