12/29/07 Western - New Year's Eve

Thanks, birkner, for trying to get a link to some earlier NYE sailing Navigators.

And I my voice to the chorus of "Good Health" wishers.

I'm a Disneyholic, of course. ;)

I divide my annual time between the Oregon Coast and New York -- usually giving me a chance to be in Anaheim and Orlando every year for a few days. Turned 50 a year ago on Space Mountain:Mission 2 in DL Paris -- the best of all SMountains.

Loved meeting other DISers last September on a 10 Day Wonder and -- having rebooked on board -- have been spending waaaaay too much time anticipating New Years 2007-8!

Southwest finally starting booking flights for December-January this week. I waited till today to purchase the tickets and got a surprise in that some flights were sold out at the lower fares already. We are all booked which is good though. Rental car is confirmed also. It's a good thing Disney lets you bring your alcohol on board though to help defray the cost.

Noel, how are you doing these days?

I got the tickets on my FF SWA miles the day they opened up, June 27th and got the last 3 seats. My DD and DSIL got the last internet fares on the same day at 8:00 AM no less.

I am feeling ok and just waiting for the surgery to be scheduled.

I was also surprised that none of the less expensive seats were available on Southwest...it ended up costing me $300+ more than last year. Still, I feel better knowing that the tickets are purchased and the rental car (for running around on our arrival day) is reserved. Makes the trip seem even closer!

I think lots of people were just waiting for those Xmas seats to go on sale and they sure WENT fast!!! Now, after September and the balance of the fare is paid in full, I will REALLY get excited!!! Way to much money to kick out before the last nano instant.

Still trying to get a link to some NYE Navigators but no luck so far. I posted on the main board also to see but no takers as of yet.

Hi NYE Magic cruisers!

Our family (DH, myself, and 'will be by that time' 13 year-old DD) are currently booked on the Thanksgiving Magic, but are seriously considering NYE instead. We sailed Thanksgiving 05, and it was a blast! However, it was very hard to come home and begin Christmas preparations. (Seems to take twice as long to recuperate from a vacation than the actual vacation itself.:rotfl2: ) This year, our DD doesn't return to school until January 7th, so what better way to spend the week after Christmas? I'm soon going to call DCL and learn what the difference in price will be.

Has anyone here sailed over NYE? I can only imagine how wonderful it must be! Hope to post back here soon!

I sure hope you decide to join us. My 13 year old GD and her family will be on this cruise with us. Aspen has also met another girl who is the same age on the DIS boards who will be on the cruise with us. Aspen tried to start a cruise thread for kids on this cruise but only had one reply.

We are making this a real family vacation as we will also be at WDW the week before the cruise.

I'm still in the planning stages. I go back and forth, but know I have to decide before too long because of the airfares. This week certainly sounds as if it's the best week of the year to cruise. (The prices reflect that.:scared1: :rotfl2: ) However, it'd be the best week for us too, as the week after Christmas seems to be such a 'letdown.' Dark outside at 6pm, no holiday to which we can look forward, taking down the decorations, blah, blah blah. If our family still has the Disney cruise to look forward to after Christmas day, I could put myself in high-gear and get the decorations put away the next day in a snap!:lmao: Our DD will be glad to know there are others her age on this sailing too.:)

No decoration for us this year as we are spending Xmas at WDW!!

We purchased our tickets in January and my DD's family got theirs when SWA released the fares in July.

We are celebrating 3 birthdays in WDW and my DD's DH's birthday is December 29th, the day we sail so we have LOTS to celebrate!!

Aspen will be thrilled to have another teenager along. She is really looking forward to being in the Stack this time. All of our family can't wait to try out the Walt!! Hope you decide to join us!!

I am Lake Almanor with my GK's so we are super busy too!! Can't wait for the cruise and hope more new members join us!!

I am still here, too. Melissa gets her driving permit on Friday! I admit it - I am a control freek, but I can do this! She still doesn't know we are celebrating her 16th with a DCL Cruise. Doing alot of home improvements around here - maybe they will be done before we go to the "old folks home". I sure hope so. Noel, did you make brunch ressies?

I did make the brunch ressies through my TA but we will not know for sure if we get them until about 30 days before the cruise. Anyone else still interested in joining us for brunch, should pm me their full names and cabin numbers to join the list. I think the private room holds 15. Each family will just pay the $10 per person and their own tip so there is no confusion about splitting up the bill.

Anyone planning to attend a Harry Potter gathering for the release of the new book?

We are going to a Muggles party (i.e. GK's and I) at the local Lake Almanor bookstore. The bookstore will treat is to such delights as Hagrid's eyballs, cauldron cakes and other libations of unearthly goodies, borrowing recipes from the imaginative tradition of the books.

Our days are filled with boating, playing at the lake (swimming to the dock), tennis, golf, bowling and trips to the Pine Shack for the best ice cream milk shakes you have ever tasted!!

Off to kids tennis lessons!! TTFN!!

guys--- 5 months from today!!!!!! Whoooohooo!!!!!!! We just got our letter of confirmation from DCL, that our room is now offically paid off!!

I started another thread about this cruise because there has to be ALOT more people out there we haven't heard from. Sometimes I think that posts with alot of pages intimidate people. pirate:
