I just wanted to wish you and your family a safe trip down to WDW. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and can't wait to meet you on our trip. You are the first of us to leave so take care and have a very merry Christmas!

We actually live in the middle of nowhere. We built our house on the GreenAcres family farm on the exact place my husband's grandparents had their home. I lived my whole life in the suburbs of two very big cities (New York and St. Louis) then married the quintessential "farm livin' is the life for me" man. It was quite an adjustment for me! It does have its perks, though...like loads of peace and quiet, room for the pets I could never have growing up, and it's a great place to raise kids. Oh, and there's the whole bonfire/fireworks thing too....you're right though...that wouldn't be possible in the city for sure.

Our other house in Woodside was more rural than where we live now no quite in the middle of nowhere but close enough for us. We had wonderful trees, plenty of room for the kids to play but once they were grown, back to the city for us!

We have been so swamped I'm already booked into the last week of Jan. I may just not reboard at Castaway Cay and hide out until the ship sails away!

You're not alone....no tee shirts or green leis here at GreenAcres. I'll just be the crazy lady running up to all the easily identifiable disers to introduce myself. I'm happy you're having balmy 31 degree weather...I bet it feels quite spring like. We're rainy and 70+ here today, but cold weather is supposedly on the way for Christmas....we'll see.

Chilly outside at 54 degrees. I mock you for your California tenderness. In Minneapolis the other day and it was 4... That's "4" like single digit four. With 30 MPH winds that cut to the quick and made one feel like your ears were going to drop off and every breath taken makes your lungs feel as if they have been frozen done to your diaphragm. Come, enjoy our Midwestern Winters. It makes us strong.

I did 31 years of Midwestern Winters - I grew up in Chicago. I don't miss those wind chills. It's funny when I moved to Vegas I thought that 54 degrees in the winter was wonderful - those people wearing coats were nuts. Now my blood has thinned and I think 54 degree is pretty chilly! My daughter was born in Vegas and is cold at 60 degrees.

One week from today I'll have already landed in Orlando! I got my e-Concierge confirmation from the Hyatt this morning.

I managed to score a couple of last minute gifts for my DH I'm really excited about. At disneyshopping.com I bought a blue oxford shirt with the little embroidered Mickey on it (I'm sure you'll see him proudly wearing it on the ship) for $15! And at the Fossil outlet in Shreveport I found a great Mickey Mouse watch for a real steal....more than 50% off the regular price.

Yup...things at GreenAcres are really moving into high gear.

How's everyone else's Christmas/vacation prep coming along?
