12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

I know that this will shock you all, but I have no tattoos... and plan to get no tattoos. (I'll pause so that there can be a gasp of surprise!) Why, you ask??? Because I am as cute as I am ever going to get. Sadly, it is all down hill from here and as what was once perkily pointed forward now gazes shamefully at my ankles. We are all going to be 80 someday... or 70 or 60. Some of us will have drooping skulls, warrior armbands that have slipped down to our elbows and happy little butterflies that can no longer take flight. Some of us will not. I intend to be in the latter category. But hats off to those of you that will. You are more bold than this kid.

Adrianna

Don't be upset. You are perfectly fine by me. And you can't get any cuter. Some of us have to work harder. Yes, I have regretted some but others not so much. At least it will be easy to identify my body in the event that my face is not in one piece or my head is not attached. :rotfl2: Okay, that was just morbid. The good news is that down the road, those of us who want to can have them removed via laser. Sure, expensive now but perhaps not in the future. I know I know. More money that we wouldn't have to waste had we not gotten them in the first place.

ps I got some tattoos for you....temporary or henna. henna is cool and sexy at the same time. :lovestruc

I would do henna. Glad to know I am accepted just the way I am, though.

I'm off to bed. So tired.

Talk to you all tomorrow.

Adrianna

Adrianna, I don't have any tattoos either. Nor do I plan on getting any. I happen to agree about how they will look as people age,and change shape. But the reason I have never gotten a tattoo is simply because I'm too big of a chicken. I don't like pain.:faint:

I do however admire some of the really pretty or meaningful art work others have gotten. It's just not anything I would do. Now, if ya'll will excuse me, it's time for this old hen to cluck her way to the coop and her roost for the night.:rotfl2:

Lindsey got her learners permit this morning. :cheer2: She only missed two questions. Both kids are out driving with their Dr Ed instructor now:drive: Poor man. Better him than me:rolleyes1

I'm headed out to mow. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Catch ya later gators:wave:

Hello:wave: Well the carpet is in and feels soooo soft. Ds5 had an optometrist appt. today and has to get glasses! He chose little Harry Potter ones with blue frames he looks so sweet!

Tattoos are not for everyone. Each one of mine tells a story. My husband is a professional engineer so I do have to keep them hidden during certain functions. I got a serious black eye from my piercing...not so hidden LOL. I have had one for 21 years and another 11 years and this will be my last. I always said I would never get more than one because I felt more than one was not tasteful:rolleyes1 So much for that that theory:rotfl:

Nothing is Disney related in the ink... but there is some cartoon characters on the left leg.

Actually #6 is already being planned. It will be a handprint of our baby

:welcome: I have been away for a few days glad to have another person joining us. Has anyone mentioned the fish extenders to you yet?

PS> Ladies I heard back from gradysmommy! Here is the message she sent me. What do you think?

Annette:goodvibes

Hi,

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. My kids are finishing up the school year and it's taking a lot more of my time than I remembered last year LOL. I can take custom orders and send out paypal invoices for payment. I will have some FE's up soon to give ideas of what I can make or they can just purchase what is listed. I'm pretty flexible!

Tiffany

Hi Annette:wave2:
Sounds good to me. I have a pay pal account. Course I don't remember my log on info, which makes having the account pretty much useless:rolleyes1

You will have to pm us her site once she gets some up to look at.

Glad you got your carpet in. I remember how nice new carpet feels. :thumbsup2 I bet your son looks adorable in his new glasses.

So much for mowing. The tractor has a flat tire. I told DH to replace it instead of having it"fixed" But did he listen? :sad2: Now he's going to come home next weekend to a whole lot of work.

Fish extender. That's like hamburger helper for seafood, right?:duck:

I have seen some stuff mentioned on trip reports etc but I could use a better explanation and examples.

:rotfl2: :lmao: After supper when I have a sec I will fill you in!

Hey guys. Guess what? Only 99 days to go for CC members and we can make our ressies:yay: And for those of us staying at WDW prior to the cruise......Drumroll please.......Only 24 more days till we can make ADRs:hyper: I better nail down what we want so I'll be ready. We aren't doing any character meals so I don't feel the need to jump on the phone at midnight.Actually most of our ADRs will be for breakfast. I'm hoping our waitlist for club level comes through. I know it most likely won't. Not with it being Christmas and all. But a girl can hope.pixiedust:

I'm sorry Andy. Castaway Cay members. It refers to those who have sailed with Disney Cruise Lines before. After this cruise, your family will be Castaway Cay members. On your next Disney cruise, you will get to book Palo, spa treatments, and shore excursions at 105 days before sailing. I believe there is a gift involved as well. This is our second DCL cruise,so I'm not 100% sure what all the perks are.

Hello everyone! This is my first post on the boards. Just wanted to say hello and say I can't wait for our cruise! I'll be traveling with my DH and our two children .. Cameron will be four on the cruise and Arianna will be two and a half. Look forward to chating with all of you!

Caroline

Welcome Caroline-

I have little ones, as well, currently 5 and 16 months. We sailed in January and had so much fun that we decided to sail again this Christmas. DCL exceeded our highest expectations and we decided that this was probably the only way that people like us (parents of little ones) could have a romantic trip and still take the kids along. It was wonderful to have dinner together or a shared spa treatment and know that the kids were having great times in their respective childcare programs as well.

If you have questions ask them, one of us will be more than happy to share.

Adrianna

There's clean and then there's in-laws clean. Clean is what you see if you drop your kids off for a play date at my house. Clean is the downstairs tidied and rugs vacuumed (at least the dark ones that show the most dirt). Clean means that I have most likely thrown all the crap that I don't want to deal with in the closet or out on the upstairs sleeping porch. Clean means that the rest of the crap is in my bedroom behind a closed door. Clean means the beds are not made unless it happens to be laundry day.

In-laws clean is what I need to achieve by Monday, which means that said closets, sleeping porch and bedrooms are clean and tidy as well. I have zero motivation regarding this and would much rather watch TV and have a glass of wine tonight. Wish me luck.

Welcome Caroline.
We don't have little ones. We have twin teenagers. This trip was supposed to be with our oldest DD and the grandchildren. Due to a new job, and a deadbeat ex husband, they won't be able to join us. We decided to go anyway, even though we know everything we see and do will remind us the little ones aren't there. This is our second DCL cruise. The twins were 8 the last time we went, it's going to interesting to see how they like it at 16.
Your DD's name is beautiful. I'm looking forward to getting to know you while we wait.

Oh Adrianna,
I feel ya dog. Only my in-laws clean is dad clean. My mother in law will clean for me. AND get DH to clean with her!!! :faint: :worship: Dad was military for quite awhile whose father was an MP. So I am sure you know how much of a jerk he was.

Brenda-
I tried at my 7 month mark to switch my ressie from Animal Kingdom Villas to Villas at Wilderness Lodge for a studio. All they had was a 1 BR. That's too much room for what we want to do this time. We figured a studio will be just fine. We will just go visit VWL. I have heard it is gorgeous!!! For our dining ADR's is that at any Disney restaurant like at resorts or DTD as well? We aren't going to the parks. Still haven't decided what we will do in regards to that. Still have to stay in some kind of budget. I know we will definitely eat at Emeril's in US. The kids would never forgive me. That will be a pretty penny :faint: Boy, I'm fainting a lot. Hope it's not a heart defect....Guess I should figure this all out. I'm not sure if Emeril's will take one so far out. I could always make ressies and cancel later.

Annette-
I'm still trying to make up my mind about what I want for the FE's. Ilvdisney2008 (I think that's it) makes some cute ones too.

Caroline-
Welcome to the club! Glad to hear that your kids are the same age, roughly, as Adrianna's. Mine are 11 and 16. And one that is 37. Actually, he counts as 2 kids.

Andy-
Fish extenders sound great. I never knew what they were before either but these gals straightened me out as well. I had a link around here somewhere  Let us know if you are interested so that we can add you to the list. You too, Caroline.

Oh right....Brenda
So much for mowing for me too. Came home at roughly 8 pm and the lawn SOOOOO needed someone's attention. DH was off at swim checks for Scout summer camp. So I did it. Then I had to run go get more gas for it. Came back, twilight. Still some light, right? Well apparently not enough because I ran over a soccer ball. And it's stuck. If DH had just done it like he needed to I would have never resorted to this :headache: So now I guess I have a half-mowed lawn until he fixes it. Wonder when that will be.....

I remember those days.:scared1:

:offtopic:

For some reason when you said you got post housing, I thought you got one of the new buildings. Sounds like you are either in the Lauman, or Upton area. By your comment about the cannon Monday, I suspect it's Lauman. :) Yeah, I know, it's probably misspelled. For some reason, my spelling is slipping these days:confused3 Either the blonde hair, or being middle age:rotfl2:

Good luck with your cleaning. Clean in my house is exactly the same as yours.
Your children grow much to fast to worry about a spotless house. It took having the twins to make me realize that. I was such a neat freak with the older two kids. Once I had teenagers and newborns. I gave up. :lmao:

You will need to get ADR's for the resorts. Esp being the holidays. I think most if not all resturants in DTD take them too. Maybe someone else can tell you for sure. Have you checked out the menu site at allears?

I need to get Michael to help me get the tire off so I can go have it fixed. Dale won't be home till middle of next week, and will only be home a day, two at the most. I just hope the lug nuts aren't too tight.

Hi Courtney-

Was today the first day of your 7 month window? It might pay to call back tomorrow first thing. I am sure there was a lot of scrambling today as people shifted to their first choices and I am thinking that I read that released rooms don't go back into inventory until the next morning. You were the one who talked me into all those splendid decorations at WL, after all.
