12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

Glad you got what you wanted. Where's the spa villa? Or the couples massage? I may be rethinking the parasailing since DD doesn't even want to get close. Besides, we have other things that we want to be sure and do. DH's business has been down so I may have to cut back :sad1:

I did mention, didn't I, that since we joined in February that I have 2007, 2008, and Developer points that I used? :thumbsup2 I had quite a few. This was an opportunity that I knew I wouldn't get again. Especially with having to use those developer points within a year if I remember correctly. I think I used a few 09 points as well since I knew we most likely wouldn't be going back to Disney between December 2008 and September 2009.

You did exactly what we did.:thumbsup2 We figure with this many points we are going on one wingdinger of a trip. We used our 07, 08 and our developer points oh ya and all of with the exception of 16 our 09 points. They gave us a one month extension on our developer points because we wanted to go at Christmas (we bought in November 07) and we can only purchase DVC on site. We are banking and using our 16 09 points and borrowing our 2010 points to go the spring of 2010:cool1: . With us being so far away we always want to be in borrowing mode.

Well it was interesting to say the least. I stayed up till 12:00 east but 10:00 my time and I logged in and guess what happened???? It said I couldn't book because by cruise was not paid for WTH????:confused3 Our cruise was booked on points. I went to bed:headache:

I got up at 6:00am our time as I have to get up with the older two and logged in again and this time it was good to go:confused3 :rotfl: :confused3

I got everything I wanted.

-Aquaventure on Christmas day
-Palo Brunch (sea day) 12:00 ( we like to book later due to the time difference, that is why we chose second dinner seating also)
-Exotic Rasul ;) (Sea Day)
-Palo Dinner (sea day, 9:00pm light dinner with kids and then go/we may also cancel if the menu is too garlicky for me)

Tube and snorkel equipment for CC. That is basically all we wanted:goodvibes

Good god I was just re-reading this and all we are going to be doing on sea day is eating:rotfl2:

That sounds like a good day.

And don't forget about the cooking demo that will probably have in the morning.

Palo's filet and chocolate souffle are out of this world.

We got everything we wanted last night, but did not pick any beach or water excursions.

The water is just to cold for DD in December. It will be in the lows 70's.

We were not prepared the first time we were at CC in December and it was not pretty. Now we pack a full wetsuit for her.

She hates snorkling when she is cold so it is either a wetsuit or just don't do it.

Of course, she is a Florida girl and anything below 80's is considered cold.

So I had a great idea and then it was SMASHED!!

Originally when I booked this thing, I was planning on doing something using points the summer of 2009. Well, for a while now we decided we aren't. So the idea was to get an upgrade on our room. I called....

to see what category 7, 8, or 9 are available. They don't have anything!!!!! They said "all sold out. Keep checking back."

Yeah right....I got my hopes up. :sad1: :sad1:

How old is DD? I am wondering about this for my kids.

Anything is warmer than where we are coming from:lmao: That is the warmest our lakes get here during the heat of summer.

And when we go to the beach in the winter we see all of you in the water and just watch in amazement. :confused3

I use to swim in Lake Superior. No more. I've learn to love warm water.

Yup we get those comments all the time (gawd those people must be from Canada) :rotfl: We are the only ones wearing shorts and swimming while y'all have jackets on:thumbsup2

Humid. It has been really humid here the last couple of days. How humid? Yesterday I lost a pound from the time I left the house at 5:30 AM to go do fitness boot camp and the time I got back (and even drank a liter of water before stepping on the scales). Ugh

Good Luck on the eating - I think I would be "fooded out" having Palo Brunch and Dinner in the same day. I am thinking you will be eating much lighter the day after this.:lmao:

I would check back again at 90 days when the reservations have to be paid in full. You may find a number of cabins open up at this date when final payment is due and some people have to back out for a variety of reasons.

Ah... to upgrade or not to upgrade. That is the question. Hubby and I were just talking about this last night. We were estimating what a 12 Day Baltic cruise might cost, looking at past cost patterns from previous special cruises and comparing what HAL charges for a similar cruise. I don't know if I'll be able to stick to my a stateroom is a stateroom theory for that one. We estimated a Cat. 8 would be around $10,000 for the four of us, a Cat. 5 $13,500. That is a lot of money for a balcony, but it is a once in a lifetime vacation.

Hubby says "we've had several 'once in a lifetime' vacations, Adrianna!" Now we just have to be disciplined enough to save the $500 per month from now until then. Looks like no vacation for us in 2009 either, Courtney.
