I thought about putting in a post to let you know. My ankle is severely sprained and yesterday, it was real painfull. I don't know why. The injury was Sunday night. I have been doing well until yesterday. Today , I am better.

Ouch! What happened?! Hope it's back to normal soon...

Just to let everyone know there was a mixup with our cabin number our cabin # is 2568 but it is listed on the spreadsheet as 2538. I asked Tina if she could fix it but then thought since it is already made up if everyone could mark there own sheets it would be easier. Bpescar2568

Oh gosh, I caved....I booked the Dream for June 2011! We're doing the 5 night Bahamas cruise in a cat 8D on deck 6. I don't even know where that is on the deck plan, as I don't even know where a deck plan is, but it sounded like a nice room in the oceanview category. So for right now we (DH, DD, and I) are booked to go! It was around $2600, which I didn't think was too terribly bad for summertime and 5 days on the new ship.

I'm assuming I can rebook this onboard next month and get 10% off plus more OBC. Anyone know if this is the case?

And did anyone else book?

We also booked the Dream! We booked for June 2011 as well...it was cheaper for us to go on the Dream for my birthday in 2011 instead of 2010 as we had planned.

No I did not book yet; I wish I could but we just don't know our schedules that far in advance. In fact, we just booked this time in July and didn't really know for sure that we could go until about 2 weeks ago. I wish I had the type of situation where we could plan in advance. In the past you could keep changing the dates w/o penalties but Disney changed their policy several years ago.
The deck plans are on the Disney site, under ships/dream/deck plans
or on the Dreams Unlimited site.
That sounds like a great cabin. I would love to book the Dream, but I just can't! Have you sailed in the summer? Hot! But maybe not that bad in the Bahamas. I was in the British Virgin Islands a few years back and thought I would die from the heat. But I was on a sailboat, and could not run into the A/C! And I have lived in South Fla. so I know hot. Anyway, congrats! I am excited for you and the other guys that have it booked!

Hi Kiki,

I have been on a cruise in the summer (August) and also late spring (May) and it is hot! We also went to Grand Cayman a couple summers ago in mid-June and it was hot but tolerable. I'm hoping it won't be too bad in mid-June.

Actually, I'm not telling DH or DD about this trip I just booked. It's a long time away, and let's face it, a lot can happen in almost 2 years. But I figured while the prices were relatively good, I'd book something to lock in a price and date that I like. Also, it allows me lots of time to save up for it. We might change our minds between now and then, but if not we're set to go!

I've spoken to DH a little bit about it- he's going to talk to his brother about the trip. How many people they're expecting to sail, because they've invited about 20 people to come along, and only 4 of them (us included) are part of the family I've married into. If it's more than just the bar mitzvah boy and family (plus SIL's mother), we may discuss planning to save for a DCL Dream cruise (even though the DCL cruise is only $100 more than the Carnival cruise they want to go on).

My room number is 12022. Yeah,,,, it is on deck 12. We decided to spend the points from DVC and get a cat 4, concierge. That way , Billy and Kathleen(if they are still an item), can come with us if they want. Just need to add them in .
About the ankle,,,,,,,, I was asleep on the couch downstairs Sunday night about 1:30 AM and decided to go to bed for a few hours before getting up to work. SO,,,,,, I pulled my feet around and put them on the floor, stood up, only to notice that I had no feeling in my entire left leg. I suddenly went to the floor(unknown reason) and was in SEVERE pain. I started to scream, but nobody heard me and I was in the middle of the den floor. After 10 minutes of yelling for help, Billy finally rustled up and came downstairs to find me unable to move due to the pain. He called Angela , who was working at the office, and she came home to take me to the hospital. X rays were negative, but it appears that I have a bad sprain. Black and blue and also massive swelling. I am able to walk today, but yesterday was a different story for some unknown reason....

My guess is that your entire left leg fell asleep. It's happened to me before, and I practically crumpled to the floor. I bet that the sprain woke up your leg!

I've got a question for you DVCers. My use year is Feb. Was thinking of booking the 4 day Dreams in April 2011. How do you do that?

Tina,,,,,, My use year is March. I just called up member services and booked for June 12. No Problem. The points come out of your 2011 year allocation. So that means that I still have a few points left over for 2010 and 2011, but not many.

PS I am walking on the foot today. Still with a lot of swelling , but able to walk. Pain is limited to when I rest for a while. With the swelling, I think it masks the pain.

For all of you teachers out there,,,, Billy is going to do his presentation tomorrow at the Indiana statehouse for government. "We the People" is the title and it is a competition between schools. If a group wins their section, they are excused from the final exam and get an A for the course. There are six sections that will be presented tomorrow from each school. Make or break time for Billy and Kathleen.
