i can't see the smilies. They are blocked from the school's computer. :( i will check it out garry. Maybe, just maybe, you turned a setting on. I will look and report back to you. off to do that.

okay, it's jen, posting as garry. Everything appears normal. I don't see what garry is talking about. Maybe the settings are changed on your work computer garry. what are you using (Internet explorer? Firefox? Modzilla? Netscape?)

Morning Sue. How's things in your neck of the woods?

I think winter is quickly approaching here. We had a coating of frost on everything this morning. The kids even thought it snowed a bit! Brr... 32 degrees when I left for work. I don't like winter and would much rather be cruising. Oh well.

Now to figure out how to pay for everything! Anyone have any good get rich quick ideas? We didn't win the lottery last week so that idea is out.

Sigh....

Kat - I just had siding put on my house, it looks great but it is cutting into my cruise money. I am trying to get DM, Jeanne, to get a job. She keeps telling me no one wants to hire an 86yo with macular degeneration, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.... I have pointed out she doesn't know until she tries. (A running joke in our house).

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It's like we keep telling my dad "You can be a WalMart greeter!"
:rotfl2:

Here's me, getting in shape for the cruise....

Is that a Mickey Bar I'm eating??!!! :mickeybar

I don't know, Stace, I heard that WalMart is trying to discourage older folks from applying these days due to rising healthcare costs. Sad, isn't it??

Cold here again this morning. And fall break for the kids so I only really have to get myself going today, hurray!

I have to finish getting my house cleaned tonight as my brother and SIL are coming in from NYC tomorrow. I hate cleaning. Ugh.

Hope you all have a great day!!!!!!

The only way housework gets done around here is when I make a schedule for myself. Vacuuming is on the list today!

Sue

The only thing i clean is my room and horse. Glad i don't have to clean my ENTIRE house. That would take a YEAR. lol. I have a strong dislike for walmart. Around here, it's where all the junkies and welfare mothers with 6 kids at age 20 go. Not a good place. Target is much better. much much better.

You know what really makes me sick?? The very mention of a HUGE company worrying about the rising cost of health care/insurance......:headache: Because we own our own company, WE pay for our own insurance...which went up this month to over $1100 a month...just for my family! Don't even start with me on that subject!!

I love having company come....I really do.....it gets me off my B-Hind, and forces me to actually clean!! LOL

Evening All - I had lunch today with a friend I haven't seen in a year. We had the best time, we talk on the phone once a month, but this was much better. Didn't get the vacuuming done.

Sue

i am here at a stupid concert. I am hiding so i can play on the computer once the concert starts. Shh.... I am not here. lol. Well, not much happened today. Boo tried to rear up again, so i put a chain "halter-down" on her. It looks like a halter, but really is a tie down. She tried to throw up her head and wow, she knocked the rearing crap off right away. She "ran" a pretty decent pole pattern. Not bad. Running for her is cantering down, trotting through the poles, and then cantering home. Here is a diagram of a pole pattern...

poles.jpg

Boo does the run from the left because basically she is a left-hander in the horse world. Most horses are left leaded, meaning at a run, they prefer to extend their left leg the farthest. Boo is right-leaded. She extends her right leg the farthest most naturally. Of course that could change as she gains more balance. lol.

Well, i guess i should shut up now since i probably typed an entire page on horses. :hyper: well, i think it's time for my group to play. bye all.

Morning, Jen that was interesting. I watch barrel racing on tv when I find it. Maybe I will see you and Boo!

Sue

more than likely i won't be barrel racing her. She is a little too small to compete with big horses. The bigger the horse, usually, the longer the stride. The longer the stride, the less time it takes for a big horse to do what a little horse has to do. So, my barrel horse charlie could cover the average distance from the first to the second in about 8 strides. Boo will probably need about 12 once she is pattern broke. However, she her size will suit her for pole bending. Big horses have a problem pole bending because they are so big. I have confidence that she will succeed. I love to watch rodeo on tv. After the rodeo, i always wish i was riding in it. oh well.

Well, i will be leaving for north Carolina today to go visit Elon University. I won't have computer access. But the Breeder's Cup World Thoroughbred Championships are tomorrow, so you all watch the sprint and root for Lost In The Fog. Watch the Juvenille and root for First Samurai. In the classic root for Saint Liam and in the distaff, root for Ashado. Okay, bye all!

Mornin' all,

Man have I been busy. It seems my chances for computer time is on the weekends only and even then...blah blah blah.

Welcome newcomers!!!!

Hey Bubbles have you floated away yet? I've been thinking about you. :teeth:

Happy Halloween. pirate: Sierra is going to be a queen and Kiki is going as a busy busy butterfly as she calls it. I'm a witch (some people already know that :confused3 ) and Paul will be a gladiator. No we aren't going anywhere but trick or treating. You would be amazed at how many drinks you can get trick or beering.

Hey jEn excellent job on those SAT's. You go girl.

Well the trees are changing colors and it is my absolute favorite time of year.
I've been making apple dumplings..(bad for the waistline) but ohhh so good for the tastebuds.

Kiki keeps talking about Disneyland. Gotta go. Looks like I successfully addicted yet another child to the ways of Uncle Walt. :earsgirl:

Hey everybody have a great weekend and happy Halloween. I gotta go slay that clothes monster. Know I'm thinking about all of you during the week, and I do pray all is well with y'all. (love that word).

TTFN -D
p.s. cheers its Saturday night. :drinking1

there has only been one post since i've left on friday?! SHAME ON YOU ALL! lol. naw its okay. So who all watching the breeder's cup? anybody? Raises hand.

Happy Halloween Everybody. Just got done decorating the front of the house for Halloween. Yup, a little last minute, but it been so crazy around here I'm suprised it got done at all.

Welcome to all the new friends joining in.

I guess everyone's been busy, I know I have. Been on the main boards alot since I am going to WDW a few times next year. THat and my next two flights are booked with Song so I have been keeping a close eye on that since it seems at least once a week they change the flight (sometimes only by a minute or two) and I have to call and get my seats assigned back to me...what a pain  Last week they told me I couldn't get my seat until I got to the gate, had to beg..thank goodness it worked. I don't like going to the airport not having a seat assigned (pet peeve of mine). That's why I don't fly SouthWest.

Hey jEn, sorry, don't know much about horses, but it sounds like you are really into it. Good for you. I know when I was younger a friend owned horses and taught me a little about riding and I enjoyed it so much tryed to get dd into it when she was 5-7 yrs old, but she could take it or leave it(plus she took a pretty good fall at a lesson one day). It's just as well since there are not too many places to ride around here anymore, and what is left charges a fortune.

Stacey, have you cruised yet??? I know what you mean about insurance. DH's family owns a company and they change about once every two years because they get raked over the coals from whatever Ins. Co they are with at the time.

Denise...while Trick-o-Treating I think they should hand out shots to the parents as they are handing out candy to the kids. What do ya think? :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 It can get pretty cold Trick-o-Treating here in the Northeast.

Hey Sue..How are you and that wonderful Mom of yours??? Don't worry, that vaccuum will still be waiting for you tomorrow :guilty:

gaRry....home now??? Where did you do? Did you sneak off to WDW while no one was looking?

Well, DD had her B-Day Party last weekend and I am convinced that 10 yr old girls are just the meanest thing on the planet. One of the girls actually got physical with another girl :scared1: . DD ended up in tears. It was her worst party ever because everyone and was fighting. That's it...no more sleepovers with more than one person.

My brother and SIL were in town over the weekend and that is always crazy. I then got to put everything away that they used and didn't put back. I understand making yourself at home when visiting family but they bring their own music and turn it on in rooms where everyone is and their taste in music is a bit on the strange side. I also think they don't pay for electricity where they live. I swear they turn on every light in every room they enter and then don't turn them off! Oh well. Enough for that rant.

Next trip is our trip to NYC over Thanksgiving. We are not staying with them tough as they have a 4th floor walkup and not enough space for the 7 of us. Hmmm.

I kept looking at things I think would be neat to have for the cruise while I was out shopping this weekend. Silly me, eh? Oh well.....

Well, gotta go take my shower and get ready to start another week.
