No, my Dad lives in Georgia. He is in a lot of pain today but otherwise I think he is ok physically. He has to deal with insurance companies, etc today so he wouldn't take any pain killers. I am still anxious to hear what happened.

WOW Kat...scarry stuff!!! just hate when we get info from family and friends that something so scarry happend to them...just goes to show that we have no idea when things like that will happen...looks like his gaurdean Angel was there making sure he was not hurt anyworse. Best to you and your family.

Also Kat I have had severe Whiplash 3 times....be sure to tell him to see a Chiroparacter. That is the only Dr. To be seen for that that will really help, other wise he may just be put on pain pills and sent for Physical Therapy and neithere will take care of the problem.

Some Dr's will tell there pts that that is where they need to go but older Dr's and Dr's that only see black and white will not. I was in my last accident last December and went to my Chiropracter the next day ...never even went to my reg,. MD.

Being a Nurse I have learned this so I am not just giving advice with out knowing...he needs to see a chiropracter. Although he may not. And his car insurance will pay for it also. I wish him well.

For the rest of you stay safe....and will see those of you that will be going on the Mexican Riviera cruise, if we all go at the same date...;)

Hi Heidi & Holly - glad I got a chance to at least meet you guys and say, "HI". Actually, when I saw two blondes in very familiar looking pirate outfits pirate: pirate: on the dance floor I thought, "That's got to be them".

Did you both run the WDW marathon? How did you do? I give you credit - I can't run up the stairs  - pathetic.

Holly and I always seem to be found by the DIS people while we're out on the dance floor... :rotfl:
Nope...just Holly ran the marathon. I had been thinking about signing up for it...but it didn't happen.:rotfl: She did GREAT! She went from a time of about 6 hours and 12 minutes last year to a time of 4 hours and 53 minutes this year!:goodvibes The crazy girl has already signed up for next year.

Wow! Kat, hope your dad is OK. Prayers and PDpixiedust: for a speedy recovery.

Good to hear from the young'uns...and congrats on that marathon time!

And Joanie, you're so right...not every cruise is a Disney cruise! (sigh)

did anyone see the news report on the plane that was diverted because of a storm and then left on on the runway for 10 hours or more and the tower wouldnt gv the pilot permission to unload the passengers..the pilot got so angry after 10 hours or so tht he moved the plane and let the people off without permission from the tower..
can you imagine the ramifications ?
i would have went nuts stuck in the plan all those hours..and for no reason..othr plans came and went..
unbelievable!!

I would have had a medical emergency. I am very closterphobic (sp). It was all I could do to sit with people I knew for 6 hours on the flight to Orlando. Where was that?

Sometimes you wonder where common sense and courtesy go, don't you? How in the world could they leave the plane sitting there...just because they weren't scheduled?:confused3 I didn't hear about it. My neighbor had a similar thing happen a few years back when departing. The plane was delayed for some reason after it was loaded, and they sat for 18 hours. (Don't remember if the delay was weather of mechanical.) They never were allowed off of the plane.

On a sad note, I just got an e-mail that the neighbor I mentioned right before Thanksgiving died this morning. (Two year battle with cancer.) Very sad, but it is time. Even the wife said she told him it was OK...that he could let go. He's been home with 24 hour care for over a month...he was a tough one! Kevin is very good friends with his son, and he will be very sad, although everyone knew it was coming. Lynn (the wife) and Andrew (the 12 year old) could probably use the prayers of anyone who cares to do so.

yea angela , im wth you..i would have stormed the pilots cabin,,thy would have thought i was a terrorist!! it was in the mid-west or mid part of the country..it took off from one state and because of a storm it was diverted to anothr airport..ill have to find the article..it was eithr 10 or 15 hours on the runway and the pilot coulnt get the ok to unload...he finally moved the plane without permission and let everyone off..

so sorry to hear about you neighbor..they have my prayers

Sorry about your neighbor and friend....seems like soooo many people have cancer these days...Billie lost his best friend to kidney cancer a few months ago...it was his time also. Very hard on the family. Sitting and just waiting and caring for...soooo sad.

On that note, we are all well here (as far as we know), and waiting for the 17th announcement on the summer of 2006 Cruise itinerary.

After talking with so many people, they booked right away and saved like up to 3,000 for booking right away. So I will be on the phone at 5:00 am my time for the 8:00 opening. NO I AM NOT OBSESSED!!!!:lmao:

Glad that they will be putting it out on the 17th and than booking starts on the 31st..gives time to plan and conquer....:thumbsup2

Everyone have a great day today...o ya Angela...got the card and pictures, thanks so much...

You are all awesome people...I feel so blessed to have you all to chat with...Thanks for being there...:grouphug:

Good to see our marathon runner check in....did it go well? Hope so!:goodvibes

Thank you all for your kind words. I had my Thyroid removed. I saw my surgeon today and I have been release to return back to full time work on Tuesday. I'm feeling really good. I'm sure that feeling will go away once I see all the stuff on my desk.....

Glad to here that you are feeling really good:banana: !!!! sorry to hear about all your stuff that will be on your desk:sad2: did not know that you were having to go do that when you got back from vacation...must have been on your mind!!!

I think I am going to cancel my surgery...just not up to it yet and want to try someother options...The nurse in me is saying" o just get it done " and the other side of me is saying "no..think I'll wait a little longer and see what happens'...geesh not sure which side is the smart one!!!:rotfl2:

nothing life threatening just menopause stuff and periods for 30 days without stopping..has stopped for know with meds but may start again and continue...I hate getting older and going through this crap!!!:goodvibes

Otherwise life is good :thumbsup2
Weather here the last few days has been so cold...I hate the cold!!!! makes me not even want to go out of the house. We have snow in our mountains as low as 2000 feet. My friend Richard called me to take the kids up to the snow maybe this weekend...will see. Would rather sit near a fire with hot choc. and a book. But how I do hate the cold, but love the snow to play in.

Actually this was planned. I found out that I would need surgery in November. I originally was trying to get it done before vacation, however, my surgeon convinenced me that it wasn't necessary. I really didn't think about it on the cruise.

My surgeon was outstanding. He gave me a hug & kiss when I left his office today.

I have to do the Iodine treatment in 6 weeks. Apparently I take a pill and then I can't be around my kids for 3 days. They suggest I check into a hotel. Must be powerful stuff. I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to do. I still have some time.
