NCIS rocked tonight...soooo cool!!!

looks like a very quiet night in here.....between the holidays and the cruise coming up so fast we will all be very busy

Need to go shpping for a Turkey still but only the 5 of us this year so only need a small one and there are always plenty of those.

will check in again later,am playing on my lap top tonight, because it is Michaels B-day I told him that he can stay on the comp and be desensitized till 10:00...

catch ya all soon..... popcorn::

haha..what kind of things does Michael do on the computer? lol...

i love my computer...i love it so much today i went out and bought it a little umbrella so i can use it in the sun and it won't overheat HAHA!!! its true...i did..i bought a little barbie mysize umbrella...

Morning everyone! :sunny:

Shelly, I hope you're right about the port thing because that has been my assumption...I thought it was just an airline thing. ANYONE? :confused3

Kat, did you find out about the last day of school? What are you guys doing for Turkey day with the SIL thing going on?

Jen, you crack me up! Cute little computer umbrella and all! Is it a Barbie umbrella or where did you find it? You'd better be careful with that computer up on the deck...I can see all of our tweens gathered around you..... :bitelip:
Glad you're having fun at home!

Not a busy day for us...MIL arrived last night but will be tired today so we'll just be hanging out. I'll probably start early cooking this evening...

Good morning from wet and raining WA! In fact snow is suppose to drop to the 1,000 ft level this weekend and that leaves us in the white. Yippee! Love snow when there is no place to go! :teeth:

Kids and DH are putting in there second dive this weekend. Burrr! I need to go find Nick a cheap wool sweater. That boy has NO body fat and turns blue immediately. His first dive was under 10 min because the instructor thought he might not recover. Recover he's 14, of course he'll recover.

I'll check in after I find coffee and I hear there is a rumor that some parent made pumpkin bread and it can be found in the teachers lounge. I'm on the hunt.

Morning Susan!

My 16 year old has no body fat either...I'm thinking he would turn blue immediately too. Don't you think Nick will enjoy diving in the nice warm waters of the caribe? :cloud9:

I'm going to try something....

My son taught me to do this trick after I was bragging on Jen....

Highlight above to see the message:

I like snow when I can stay in too...especially because here it usually is gone in a day or so...the first time we had snow after moving to Georgia we got out with the shovels, cleared the driveway, cleared the sidewalk...and everything was melted by noon anyhow. I don't even know where our shovels are now!

Don't know our plans for today, waiting to see how energetic MIL is. Right now she and DH are sitting in living room talking about nothing...which is why I am here. DS16 went to the mall with a friend....talk about desperate! He's the one that HATES the mall.

I don't know about the port but since I am flying I won't have anything wrapped anyway. Just need to make sure DH doesn't wrap anything either!

Nope, haven't heard anything. The calendar that came home at the beginning of the year says December 15. A number of people here at work have kids in the same school system and we actually have a mailing list so I just sent a message asking if anyone knew of any changes. I think the wife of one of the guys even works for the schools sooooo we will see what I hear.

SIL is working tomorrow so we have Mom and friends coming over. SIL found a place and is moving Dec 7-9! Hurray!!!

DD woke up this morning and announced to me that we have 24 days until we cruise! :rotfl: I guess she is keeping track too!!

Ok, gotta go..MIL duty summons...

Got confirmation it is the 15th, NOT the 18th. Hurray!

hello all...went to see my horse this morning...she is very furry already...lol...and just as lazy as ever

Hi everyone, :sunny:
Wanted to say "Happy Thanksgiving" just incase I miss any of you...as we all know I am usually in here by myself so wanted to make sure that I got this in.

will be very busy over the next few days as I'm sure you all will be...hoping to get all done but you know how that go's...life always gets in the way. :goodvibes

Can't believe that in only 19 days(2weeks-5 days)I will be on a plane heading for WDW...how in the world will I ever finish...the clock is ticking! the preasure is on!...

I, like I'm sure, many of you are the ones who pack and plan and do the ressies and everything for this vacation...gets very tiering doing all that. But if I were to let Dh or Ds's take care of anything like clothing or stuff they would have nothing in there suit cases. So the only time I can claim the fame of being an enabler it is on vacations.

Hope to touch base with some of you later...but if not "Have a Happy" : :cool1:

It is quiet here today! Everyone must be off doing family things already. I am stuck at work :( .

I have given up on DCL having the Christmas gifts listed on their site! Still no sign of them. Ah well. Like I need to buy more stuff!

Hi everyone~!

Hiding at the computer...DH has run out on an errand, I have stuff cooking (pre-doing tomorrow's meal) and MIL is in front of the TV.

Kat, yea about vacation. Glad the website said it wrong--it didn't make sense, but school schedules don't always....

Robin, I'm like you--my DH plans NOTHING. So I couldn't possibly leave vacation planning to him. He likes to just be spontaneous...that works for some things, but rarely Disney or a cruise. I agree, though, DH hasn't even given thought to what we'll be doing...won't think about packing until a day or two before...while I set things aside sometimes weeks ahead. Oh well, I must like it, because I certainly don't try to do without vacations! :)

I probably won't be back tonight, so Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to wish all my American friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.

I am very behind with the boards these days as I have been focusing on my charity event that is on Dec.2. I ended up having to turn 100 people away :sad2: Breaks my heart to turn needy families away, but I had a max of 230 and am at 248 so I am pushing it as it is.

I wrapped gifts for 153 children last weekend and now have the finishing touches to complete. I am having 25 high school students at my house on Saturday - they are working off their 40 hours community service hours that are part of their school curriculum here.

Anyway, haven't really packed- washed and put away a few things several weeks ago, but have done nothing since. Maybe on Sunday I will get stuff done.

We leave here on the 4th of December. Can't wait to meet you all.

Have we decided on when and where exactly we are having the ornament exchange. I read about it and the date has escaped me.

Have a wonderful weekend

Denise

Finally found an ornament. I am also doing pre thanksgiving cooking - the pumpkin pie is in the oven. Can't believe I went to the store and forgot the 1/2 and 1/2 for the bread pudding.. Since we are the ones traveling tomorrow I gotta get it done tonight. Wish a grocery story was closer. Oh well, I will get as much as I can started and then take the 45-1hr to run to the store and back. Yuck!!!

But I gotta make the desserts. No school until Monday. I'm jealous of all the people going on vacation before the cruise. But at least I got the CRUISE. I have a couple students who are going to be at WDW Dec 2-10th. Missing school. Like everybody elese last day is Dec 15th.

Jen - if you need any help still on cruise stuff just e-mail. I will be home from Thursday night on. DH and kids are diving Friday and Sat and I will not be sitting around waiting for them on a cold, wet, rainy beach - No siree!

Back from the grocery store! Milk and eggs. Now for my bread pudding.

Hope to hear from you all later. Can't believe how many of you are only 1 week away from your vacation. Enjoy it for me :thumbsup2

Hi All :wave2:, and an early Happy Thanksgiving.

Been busy all week, I tried to check in here and there, Hope I didn't miss anything. That sweet DH of mine is keeping me busy  .

Thanks, Denise. You have a regular week this week up there, eh??? So, that must mean you don't have a "Black Friday". You don't know what you're missing :rotfl: . No standing in lines for you at 4AM, along with 2000 other people, sprinting for ten Play Station 3's. You just don't know what you're missing :teeth: . I am am so sorry you have to turn families away. That MUST be heartbreaking. You need to feel good about all the families (especially the children) you are able to make a difference to. Bless you :grouphug: .

Susan - you are a brave lady heading to the grocery store today. DH went to get his stuff to make chicken wings. I know, chicken wings as an app for Thanksgiving, but my BIL insists on having them after the local football game :confused3 . My SIL is not happy about it either, but I tell her, "talk to your husband, he's the one that insists on DH making them". He said it was quite the mad house at the market when he went down about Noon.

Time for confessions.......I have never made a turkey. I mean, I am 44 years old and have never cooked a turkey. Weird, huh? I guess because I have never had Thanksgiving at my house. The family holiday dinner at my home is Easter and Christmas Eve, which I serve prime rib for both.

MaryAnn, I've never made a turkey either, LOL!

Happy Turkey Day to all my fellow U.S. Cruisers!

Come to think of it, I don't think I have ever made a turkey either!! Our traditional Thanksgiving dish in my household is, believe it or not, lasagna!!!! It all started when my mom had her stroke and we started having turkey day at her house every year. My aunt and uncle would come up from NYC. My aunt is a vegetarian, no meat or poultry. So the first year we did this I did a meatless lasagna instead. It was such a hit that it was requested every single year. Since mom moved out here three years ago she has requested that I still do it so what the heck. Friends of Dave's that are joining us this year are bringing a small turkey so we will actually have some this year.

Looks like I will be braving the Black Friday crowds tomorrow! Last year I did so at Macy's in NYC. This year it will just be here in town. Mom's nurse/friend is going with me. Should be fun

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!!!
