Oh, and the hair sticking straight up would be Kev! Although he chooses his clothes very carefully. Doesn't always put things together the way I would, but he is very deliberate about that.

My oldest always "wins" best hair -- he owns a comb and a brush, but you couldn't tell. He does usually dress well.

DS10, on the other hand, apparently owns 3 t-shirts. A soccer camp shirt from 3 years ago, a tie dye shirt he made 2 summers ago and a lime green t-shirt. That's all he ever wears, it seems. But he did shock us today -- he dressed for gymnastics in navy blue shorts with white trim and put on a navy blue shirt with a white dragon on it. It matched. First time ever. That boy usually would wear outfits that make golfers' clothes look coordinated.

I do feel bad for any guys that try to hang here regularly....

JR does a pretty good job.

What makes y'all think guys would be embarrased talking about exposed breasts? I ate lunch at Hooters today, after all.

Now, if you start having discussions about the 'crimson tide' and it is not related to Alabama football, I will have to bail out...

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I missed ya all again...lol..

Has anyone heared from Dee ????? is she still going ????

Checked with DCL today to see what the movies will be on our cruise...he read them off but did not write then down. There were lots but these ones I remember...

Santa Clause 3
Snow Dogs
Narnia
Cars
Pirates

There were like 11 or more and they were good movies...so the kids should enjoy there movie days that they want to do together. I will get a complete list in the morning and post them all...K... :thumbsup2

About the Cruise mugs....is your picture in a strange place on it..when I hold my mug the picture is on the front instead of the side so need to turn my mug to see it . I like to look at my picture as I hold it by the handle...but cant :guilty:

It is a good heavy mug however... :thumbsup2

Cool Thanks for the report!

Why does she no longer come in and play??? has she said?

Hi all! :wave2: Just dropping in before bed. Holly and the parentals left about 10 minutes ago to go back to the hotel. And I am BEAT! Unlike Jen...I didn't get enough sleep. :sad2: Couldn't fall asleep and then I woke up around 5...don't think I ever really fell back asleep after that. And I have to get up early tomorrow to shower and get on the road home! :goodvibes :Pinkbounc

Actually I've been to darn tired and too darn busy to have a real life :rotfl: You realize, of course, that real life means the DIS boards, right? :sunny:

Seriously, I have a ton of work to finish up before we leave, and not enough energy or hours in the day. And I feel bad because I can't keep up with y'all, so then I stay away even longer hoping I won't offend anyone by coming back and not responding to some important discussion that's going on and I missed...

Yeah, I really do need a vacation, don't you think????

:sad2: :sad2:

So my son tested for his advanced blue belt in Tae Kwon Do yesterday, which means if he passes (there is no way he didn't pass, after his performance last night) he will be 3 ranks away from provisional black. It will take me YEARS to catch up to him! That's depressing.

Greatest moment on the test: he was doing a self defense exercise with one of the black belt judges. The guy is more than 3 times Keith's weight, almost twice as tall, and did I mention 1st degree black belt? Our chief instructor told Keith: "Just show me you can set up a good take-down, because realistically there is no way you can actually take him down." He just finished saying that and my son sent this guy crashing (literally) to the floor -- best take-down I've seen, EVER! It was beyond cool. It was just...amazing!

There's a black belt instructor in our school who's going to have an interesting time for a few months to come -- he won't live this down very soon...I think.

Dee, congrats to Keith! He should indeed get it! We are hoping they test Sam soon. She is only going for her Yellow, but still.

Sinuses have me up early again. Ugh. So I made signs, yay.

DH was on a rampage yesterday. Made DD clean her entire room and throw lots of stuff away. Also made her put ALL her stuffed animals in trash bags. She filled 5!!!Crying the whole time :( . today he is going to make her go through and get rid of some. He is really being the bad guy so apparently I was the good guy yesterday as I was helping her put stuff away, sort, etc. She also had to clean the living room which is sort of her play area. It was awful. She does need to thin out the stuffed animals so we are going to see what we can do. Some sort of incentive, maybe??? Also going to clean out the top shelf in her closet to put the ones she keeps on so they are not all over her room. That should help.

But then he started in on the rest of the house. I was exhausted by the time we stopped and he says we aren't done. I was not happy with him yesterday. DD says she wants to move in with Gran across the street after SIL moves out!!!! :lmao: Today he is going to make her stack firewood too. She started the backtalking thing again and he is done with that so she is not going to have a fun day I fear.

Saw HAPPY FEET yesterday. It was fun. Great soundtrack and lots of great people doing voices. Sadly Steve Irwin was the voice of one of the elephant seals in a brief scene :sad2: . And the first Harry Potter trailer has gotten me looking forward to seeing that one next July.

I had to read that twice -- I thought you said he got a severe "scalding" and I was about to post asking what was wrong with the mug that it burned him. Then I re-read and cancelled that post.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh, and I enjoyed the "other" perspective on the shirt. ;) I guess the guys wouldn't see that as a problem would they?

....and we'll try to stay off of that other subject....but no promises! :rotfl:

Morning Sherrena!

Well, just finished going through the FIVE garbage bags of stuffed animals with the 10 year old. She managed (reluctantly) to part with not quite one bag full. The rest we have arranged on the top shelf of her closet. Let's hope that DH is satisfied with that. I don't think I can take another day like yesterday!

Morning everyone.... :surfweb:

Just checking in...have a few minutes before I have to get everyone up and out for church....

Dee, the karate thing sounds like it was great...it's so exciting when you see your little one doing something really well..

And it sounds like Yargrnhoj has a child that can be added to our list of those whose fashions we cannot appreciate. I liked the golfer comment!

Kat, the event at your house yesterday made me sad...that's the hardest thing for us to do..make our guys get rid of stuff! I can't make them get rid of anything they are attached to...eventually my older ones have gotten sick of things and we box them up and put them away. I just can't make them do it until they are ready!

DH got Garden State last night-thought it would be good with Zack Braff...not really! We ended up turning it off at 10:00 because there was an SVU episode on. It was a rerun, which I had seen, but DH had not. Much better than the movie.

Today, after church, more cleaning (finally stopped and ran Christmas errands...there is only so much dusting, sorting and vacuuming I care to do in one day.) We also have to pick up DS14 from his retreat, get him to phase 2 of his Lacrosse tryout, and they're begging me for new shoes so I may try to get that in too.

Talk to you all later!

OK, pixie dust that DH is happy with the compromise... pixiedust:

I remember a friend of mine putting shelves down about a foot from the ceiling along one wall of her daughter's room on which to store the treasured stuffed animals. I think it is a common problem with young girls...all of those stuffed things are treasures!
