I had lunch with him, he was feeling pretty . We'll have family celebration tonight, then wait for his party.

We'll dress a little nicer than usual for formal night, but not formal. I'm not even sure I'll buy the guys jackets. They are growing like crazy, so would probably be a waste. Will probably decide based on their mood and what I see. I'm thinking maybe just extra nice shirt or shirt/tie for them.

For pirate night, teens won't dress, although I'm hoping they'll do just a few fun things (the bandana, cheap rings I bought). DS10, mom and dad all put together pirate outfits for the Halloween party that DS10 will wear Halloween night and again on the cruise.

Oh yeah, and what I wear will depend upon what fits the week we pack. Still waiting on those pounds to drop off over Halloween and Thanksgiving!

We dress up but don't do gowns and tux. I wear high heel dress sandals, velvet pants and sparkly tops for formal night, slightly less sparkly tops for semi-formal, and nice tops with khaki type pants or dressy skirts for the other nights. And I have my Mickey Tiki dress with a matching one for DD for one of the casual nights. DH has a black suit with dress shirt and tie (I got him a Mickey tie that he doesn't know about yet) for formal nights, blazer w/button down and tie with nice pants for semi-formal nights, khakis and polos for the other nights. I have never been able to get him to even consider getting photos done as he hates posing for pictures.

After 10 days in the Caribe we'll all need to be thinking about ways to show off our tans. Of course, those babies fade FAST once we get home!

LOL Jen! I'm 5' 2", I understand! That's why I wear the high heel sandals! And I don't get tan. I put on SPF 50 anytime I go out in the sun or I turn into a lobster so I don't worry about showing off my lack of tan . I just try to hide the extra 5-10 lbs that like to gather around my tummy .

Unless you're my DD! She has a natural tan that I am soooooo jealous of! She has never burned, even in the winter she is darker than I am in the summer and in the summer she looks even better! One hour in the sun and she already has tan lines. Lucky kid!

At 5'4" I'm the giant of the three of us!

That's good, because as I get older, I wear heels less and less. (But my chiropractor likes it when I do!) You MAY get me out of my Disney crocs for formal night....

Yeah, I am bringing my crocs and my crocs primas. I may wear them for dinner on casual nights as they are very comfy. I got some of the Nile crocs sandals too so I will have dress sandals with high heels and my various crocs! Same for DD.

That reminds me, I have a pair of Disney princess swim shoes in a size three that are hardly worn that I will bring to give to anyone whose dd can use them, just let me know..... They are purple and pink.

I was just looking over some info. that I had recieved awhile back and it showed a Kids area that I never noticed when on the ship before. So I called up DCL and they said that they have a new club open for kids that are 10-14 called "Ocean Quest". They will be signed into the reg. club and this is another place that they can go and hang out. Has big couches and simulaters on steering ships and video game and Plasma TVand more.

Also my DS that is 12 soon to be 13 can also go into the 13-17 y.o"Stack" if I want him to becasue he is so close to his B-day. It is a hard decision because he is only 12(closer to 13) and is also 5"7 so is he going to feel out of place? Tough call. His brother is also going to be in there with him.

Jen,have you ever been in the Stack and can you tell me if there seems to be a lot of 13 y.o in there? also are there computer games and such for them to play? HELP!!!!

my tan won't fade...I tan naturally just when the weather starts to get warm...i will go native from 10 days of sun...

once just to check it out..I hate social scenes so i didn't stay more than a minute...i'm more into the tech stuff they offer...I have no clue though...i will ask my sister and get back to you...i know the only way to get internet access is through the cafe unless they installed wireless or LAN ports on the ship during dry dock....

Ocean Quest sounds neat...just my kids' type of place.

I don't have experience with the "stack" thing, other than that it might be rough to be one of the youngest (especially as a boy.) It might depend upon whether most of the kids that actually go there are closer to his age or if they are older. Unless he spends a lot of time with a high school crowd, he wouldn't like being part of that...Hopefully Jen will have more input.

I don't think the 5'7" thing will matter as much as the age thing.

i doubt the stack has internet becuase the stack is supposed to be free and internet is far from free on the ship...unless they installed WIFI or LAN jacks

Not us. I'll bring along a suit and a Disney tie. The boys will likely opt for the kids' club, but if not, they won't be dressing up. It's just too expensive. We did buy DD4 a dress at Kohl's yesterday (55% off) that is very Renfest looking which she will wear.

Note to self -- make sure to coordinate with table mates. Last time we cruised when there were two 'dress up days', the first night, we brought our kids but the other couple left their son at the kids' club. So we sent our sons to the kids' club for the second formal night, and wouldn't you know it, the other couple brought their son with them. We laughed about our inability to have a single night dining without children at the table.

Not unless Disney is lying to its passengers. It says so both in the DVD and guide, as well as online -- "The Stack: Meet on your own terms in this personal space. Teens (ages 13-17) cruise in style in this place packed with music, movies, video games, big-screen plasma TVs, a lounge area, dance floor, Internet café and teen-only activities into the wee hours. And the counselors are always cool. Are you a teen? Then you can make this vacation what you want it to be — at the Stack."

LOL, sounds like something that we'd do! DD doesn't like to wear dresses, though she has agreed to bring one. I can't get her to go out and even look at any more (and yes, it is expensive to dress kids up when they grow so fast) so I suspect she will probably be in the kid's club for several of the dinners too. She usually gets pretty bored at mealtime with a lot of adults around and would rather be with a bunch of kids anyway.
