Good mornign from the West Coast... :sunny: Ok I put a sun but it's NOT sunny. It's that time of year rain, rain, rain.

I meant to get on last night when I got home but the "family" diving lessons were postponed - it seems its hard to get books for DAN in October in the Pacific Northwest. I don't understand, don't people want to dive in the cold, silty water??? You can tell I'm not a diver.

--- as I mentioned earlier yesterday, it must have been in the air. Who pulls the fire alarm in the cold, damp and at lunch??? Then one of my 8th grade student thought it would be funny to through gaterade over all the kids in their fire drill line. Uggh.

Today i woke up with a cold... movie day :cool1:

Susan

You guys make me feel awful. I avoid housework like the plague. I keep myself so busy that the kids do laundry and dishes as chores (they don't do it well or timely,but... .

Last night I even fed breakfast for dinner...

My days are so busy right now. In the past I would have had piles of clothes and "goodies" on the den sofa already for the cruise. As a family we have been saving for this big trip like crazy. Now I just need to get through the day. Coaching ends next week. 58 days until our cruise - my goal is to get that far.

Susan

I don't even want to talk about it! My 10yo argues with me constantly. But then she can be an absolute angel too. She got out of the car when I dropped her off at school yesterday and told me "I hate you!" as she slammed the door. Then when they got home last night she ran in and gave me a big hug and a smile. Go figure!

And then I got into the mess with our finances and thought I might have to cancel the cruise :sad1: . DH says no but I just can't convince him to stop spending. Thank the gods I have been putting money away to cover our excursions and such and my mom is giving us some money for Christmas this year for the cruise so that is all covered. It is just the bills and such that are driving me nuts right now!

DH just took the classroom portion of the Nitrox dive class on Monday. This weekend he will do the dive portion. Who wants to dive in the cold in a silty, freezing quarry in Indiana??? I'm not a diver either! :lmao:

Nor do I do much house cleaning! Unfortunately neither does anyone else in my house so I usually end up getting to do it when I can't stand it anymore. I make my daughter dust, though. I am allergic to dust. It doesn't bother me until it gets stirred up which dusting will do. She seems to like to dust so that's ok. With working full time I get home in the evening and don't much feel like cooking or cleaning but both have to be done, oh well. Tonight DD has girl scouts so SIL will pick the girls up and feed them McDonald's then drop them off for their costume party since I have to work until 6 and DH has class from 6-8:30 so I will be on my own for dinner. I have two pair of pants to return to Target but I left them at home so probably won't get to that until this weekend. Oh well.

Don't even get me started on their lack of responsibility to do chores.

*thinking good thoughts, thinking good thoughts, thinking good thoughts*

I only clean when guests are coming or I reach overload. My kids friends call it "homey".

I have a bunch of student in my class now before school starts and I was attempting to clean up my desk. They informed me clean desks were for mean teachers and begged me to stop :rotfl: I wasn't hard to convince me - I think I am allergic to housework.

Yup, that's me!! :lmao: I pretty much only clean at those times too! And that housework allergy sounds awfully familiar too! We live in clutter at my house. I go across the street to my SIL's house and there is almost never anything laying around where it shouldn't be, no papers laying around, the house is always clean. Ugh, who has the time! She is going back to work full time so we will see if it stays that way. Of course, Mom's nurse will be there more so it probably will.

AAARrrggghhhhh pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: My first top in a while, how cool is that!!!

Gratz Kat!

I often wonder how people keep their houses clean like that. My neighbor is the same way. You can go into her house at ANY time and the kitchen doesn't have a dirty dish, the cat box is pristine, the floors not a spot, beds made, carpets freshly hoovered.

I wonder what's wrong with me?

I must admit I think I do not have a "clean" gene. I wonder if these people never let kids in their houses??? Oh, don't get me wrong my house is very cluttered and as I like to say "homey" but I personally am very clean :rotfl2: I can sit in a warm shower forever  If I could...

Susan

It is good to know that their are other people out their with priorities other than cleaning!!! :)

You know Susan, you hit it on the head. My priorities don't include a pristine house at the moment. When my DH met me I warned him that I was a bachelor at heart and that if he expected a clean house to move on. I'm not a pig, you won't catch anything in my house, but you'll be darn comfortable while you're here. :cool1:

my dorm room is soooo messy i might just have to clean it

OK, we all hate cleaning. I do "make" mine clean up their rooms on weekends and the basement area which is pretty much their rec room. But I can't stand the rest of the house the way they leave it (even with all of my scolding) so I end up cleaning. I guess it's fair, because I"m the only one that it seems to bother! We all need Mary Poppins! :wizard:

Kat, I'm glad you got the finances worked out--after all you've done to help get everyone organized, it just wouldn't have been right for you to miss--like Dee! We had our financial stressout right before we made final payment. You think about how much you could do with that money....but like I think Robin said, vacations are important, and you never really know what is around the corner...Now if you would just find where they keep the money tree...

DS10 due home any minute. :hourglass At least it is nice here today so that he and romping boys can play outside. :jumping1: (After two days of rain.)

Oh, and poor Jen who has to listen to us complain about our children--you know we're just venting, right? We really do love them, despite what it sounds like! :rotfl2:

And I'm sure your mother says nothing but nice things about you and your sister and you never frustrate her at all! :teeth:

Oh yeah. I am not a dirty person either. I hate having dirty dishes sitting around and I hate having a dirty kitchen period (old food sitting around, etc). I too could stay in a hot shower for hours. And I can't stand dirty clothes either. But when it comes to my house, a little dust on the furniture and some dirt on the floor just doesn't bother me. Now mud on the floor or lots of fresh cut grass or something is annoying, but otherwise I can pretty much ignore it for a while.

Sounds like we are all pretty much of the same opinion on the cleaning and definition of clean thing! :rotfl: My SIL's house is actually TOO clean for me most of the time. I like my house to look lived in. Those houses you see on parade of homes tours and in magazines and such just don't look like anyone actually lives in them. I agree, I like mine to be comfortable.

I think DD has some short days next week but as she is only 10 she goes to latchkey. DH signed her up for some field trips they are doing so she is happy. One of the days they are ordering pizza :teeth:

You know, with all this talk about sitting in hot showers for ages (I'll sit in it til the hot runs out), I think we need a hot tub meet on the cruise!

Oooh, ladies only? And what about our ladies' night out? We need to figure out when that will be too!

I like ladies only. Then i would not worry whether I wear my all encompassing one-piece (my public suit) or I where my two piece tank (still covers all and has the advantage of allowing me to go to the bathroom easier). Will all ladies if the belly shows as I move I don't care.

You guys must think I am crazy. messy house, "fluffy" person, and thinking about bathingsuits??? And I am working! :rotfl2:
